Xtreme Shock Grape Energy Drink Review

Final Judgment Rating:8.6
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Xtreme Shock Grape Energy Drink Review
It's a dreary Monday morning and I am exhausted from my weekend activities. However, I still have to make it to the gym this morning before work. Since I have almost no energy I needed to grab an energy drink that I know has some kick to it. Well I previously reviewed the Xtreme Shock Fruit Punch Energy Drink in Mid April and found out it had one heck of a kick, I decided I should bump up the review of the Grape Flavor so I could utilize the kick for my Monday morning workout. Extreme shock comes from ANSI, who sell a variety of products ranging from thermogenic fat loss to protein bars. Xtreme Shock comes in a 12 ounce plastic resealable bottle and sports a label reading "feel the rush in 15 minutes."

Xtreme Shock Grape Energy Drink Review: Taste
Again this product is geared more towards the gym rat or athletic enthusiast. Even though it is geared towards these people, ANSI did not seem to spare any expense when it came to taste. Normally products geared towards the Gym rat don't taste the greatest, but the Grape flavored Xtreme Shock was pretty tasty. The grape flavor was pretty prevelant and there was a very slight medicinal aftertaste but overall the flavoring was pretty good. It definitely still tastes better than the competition (Redline Energy Drink). Combine the grape flavor with the fact that it has only 20 calories and we have on our hands an energy drink that seems to be well suited for an intense workout. Taste Rating 7.3

Xtreme Shock Grape Energy Drink Review: Kick
The energy ingredients seem to be the same across all the flavors. I am still not sure what all of them are but I did recognize that there is 200 milligrams of caffeine in 12 ounces. So not only does Xtreme deliver a strong kick it also gives you a tingly sensation throughout your body and lips. I was told by ANSI, that this is from Endosine which is derived from an Amino Acid Blend that ANSI has the exlusive rights to. It is actually kind of neat. Not only do you feel the kick on the inside, but you also feel it throughout your body. In my opinion this effect seems to help you feel more energized. To sup up, Xtreme delivers a great kick without the sugar crash. Kick Rating 9.0.

Xtreme Shock Grape Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Pretty good flavor and an outstanding kick. That's basically why I choose it to get me going for my Monday morning workout. Just remember there is 200 milligrams of caffeine in here so make sure you also hydrate yourself (water) when working out! Final Judgment 8.6!

Wired Diet Berry Energy Drink Review
Since the last three Wired Energy Drinks I reviewed were very appealing in the taste and kick categories I decided to do another review right away. That and they have 15 different flavors that I have to do reviews on! Today I will review the Wired Diet Berry Energy Drink which is available in 16 ounce cans. I really enjoyed their last diet energy drink, Wired Low Carb, so I am looking forward to the Diet Berry version as well.

Wired Diet Berry Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well the name on the can says it all. It has a very distinct berry taste combined with a bit of carbonation. You can not taste any of the energy ingredients, so no there is no medicinal aftertaste. However, you can tell that it is a diet drink as artificial sweeteners are used (sucralose). But since it says "diet" right on the can I was not expecting a super sweet drink. That being said, even though you can tell it is diet, the berry flavor is still really pleasing and has a pretty good taste. Taste Rating - 8.2 (very good diet drink)

Wired Diet Berry Energy Drink Review: Kick
This 16 ounce diet energy drink contains 94 milligrams of caffeine, taurine and a host of B-Vitamins. Now as I have stated in the other Wired energy drink reviews, 94 milligrams of caffeine is not a lot for today's typical energy drink but by combining this caffeine with the other energy ingredients (taurine, b-vitamins) you still get a very nice kick. Besides if you want a ton of caffeine in your drink Wired has plenty of options to choose from. Check out the Wired X-505, it has 505 milligrams of caffeine in 23.5 ounces. Anyways the Diet Berry still gives a good kick without any sugar induced crash. Kick Rating - 8.4

Wired Diet Berry Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Yet another strong addition to the Wired Lineup. Good berry flavor and a good kick without the crash and without the calories. With only 10 calories in 16 ounces, you get the energy you need without the calories. Add that to the fact that you can get a case of these shipped for $48.00 and you have yourself a pretty good diet energy drink. Final Judgment 8.3

Wired XSport Energy Drink Review

Wired XSport
Cost: $2.00 - Case for $48.00 Shipped
Cost Per Ounce:$0.13
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, B-Vitamins, Amino Acids
Taste Rating:8.0
Kick Rating:8.4
Final Judgment Rating:8.3
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Wired XSport Energy Drink Review
Welll this will be the third installment of my Wired Energy Drink Reviews. The last two I reviewed were the Wired Low carb and the now outdated Wired X-294 which was replaced with Wired 344 which I will review later. As I have stated before in the other reviews Wired offers an exstensive line of Energy Drinks. In all I believe they have 15 different flavors that come in cans and bottles ranging from the traditional 8.4 ounce to 32 ounces. The X-Sport flavor seems to be geared more towards the athlete (hence the name) and is supposed to help prevent fatigue. So here goes the review of the Wired X-Sport Energy Drink.

Buy Wired Energy Drinks Here

Enter the Wired Crackdown Sweepstakes

Wired XSport Energy Drink Review: Taste
As I stated above there are a plethora of flavors available in the Wired Lineup. The 16 ounce X-Sport tastes like a typical energy drink. What's a typical energy drink you ask? Well the taste is somewhat similar to a Red Bull. The taste is actually a little better than Red Bull as there is not really any medicinal aftertaste present. The carbonation also adds a nice effect. And at 80 calories for 16 ounces it would probably make for a pretty good tasting drink to work out with. Taste Rating -8.0

Wired XSport Energy Drink Review: Kick
Well since this drink is formulated for athletes it should have a pretty decent kick. The energy blend for the Wired X-Sport only contains 94 milligrams of caffeine which is not alot for the typical energy drink. However, since it is geared towards athletes the last thing you want is a caffeine overload making you cramp up or crash halfway through whatever your doing. So instead of caffiene Wired uses carbohydrates, B-vitamins, minerals, nutraceuticals, and amino acids to help prevent fatigue and supply sustained energy. Well does it work? I had not problem throwing in a couple extra sets at the gym after drinking this so it worked for me. There was not crash afterwords either as there were only 14 grams of sugar in the entire can. It does what it says. Supplies sustained energy. Kick Rating 8.4

Wired XSport Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Pretty decent taste and a nice sustained kick makes for a well rounded energy drink suitable for the athlete. The only gripe I have is that it is 16 ounces. So it is a lot to take down before a workout. Wired should consider making this in a 8.4 ounce can as well. Otherwise it is a great drink but I like the Low Carb Wired better. Final Judgment 8.3

Bazza High Energy Raspberry Tea Review

Bazza High Energy Raspberry Tea

Cost: $2.00
Cost Per Ounce:$0.12
Active Ingredients:green tea extract, yerba mate, guarana, taurine, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating:9.0 - Great Tasting Tea!
Kick Rating: 8.2
Final Judgment Rating:8.8
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Bazza High Energy Raspberry Tea Review
Well I was somewhat intrigued when reading the story about B.W. Cooper. As it turns out B.W. Cooper has spent 40 years traveling the world blending and tasting teas. According to the press releases B.W. Cooper is the only living tea and herb master in the world. Well that is quite an accomplishment if you ask me. That means this Bazza High Energy Raspberry Tea better taste pretty good. Well there is only one way to find out. Here goes the review of the 16.9 ounce resealable Bazza High Energy Raspberry Tea.

Bazza High Energy Raspberry Tea Review: Taste
I have stated several times throughout my other Energy Drink Reviews that I am not too fond of tea based energy drinks. In fact there has really only been one "tea based energy drink" that I thought tasted good, the rest were really tasted pretty bad (no need to mention names). I probably have the Bazza Tea people sweating right now. They are probably even regretting sending me some samples. Well they can stop sweating as B.W Cooper's 40 years of tea blending etc. has definitely paid off. The blend of raspberries tastes extremely good and was very, very refreshing. In fact I enjoyed it so much that it might even change my overall opinion of tea drinks in general. Great blend B.W! Taste Rating 9.0

Bazza High Energy Raspberry Tea Review: Kick
Now for the all important kick factor. Well Bazza tea seems to get their energy ingredients from green tea (extract), yerba mate, guarana, taurine and B-Vitamins. The first two are the main sources of natural caffeine in the drink. I believe the combination of these two ingredients yields around 150 milligrams of caffeine in a 16.9 ounce serving. So there is definitely enough caffeine present to give you a kick in the pants and get you moving. On top of this the drink is non-carbonated, has zero sugar and zero calories. And what does this do for me you might ask? well it gives you that kick without supplying jitters or a huge crash shortly after finishing the drink. Kick Rating 8.2

Bazza High Energy Raspberry Tea Review: Final Judgment
Great tasting tea with a refreshing kick! On top of that Bazza High Energy Tea contains a plethora of antioxidants (65 milligrams). The tea also claims to stimulate metabolism. This is similar to Enviga Green Tea which I have reviewed. The only difference is that Bazza tastes way better! So congrats on the great tea guys! Final Judgment - 8.8 (very refreshing)

Stay tuned for the review of their other flavor - Green Tea.

Cintron Citrus Mango Sugar Free Energy Drink Review

Cintron ENergy Drink
Cost: $1.99
Cost Per Ounce:$0.13
Active Ingredients:Taurine, B-Vitamins, Glucuronolactone
Taste Rating:8.8
Kick Rating:8.5
Final Judgment Rating:8.7
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Cintron Sugar Free Citrus Mango Energy Drink Review
Today's review will be the sugar free Cintron Citrus Mango Energy Drink a drink designed to capture the growing hispanic market with unique latin flavors. First off I want to point out one unique aspect of this 16 ounce can. It comes with a plastic top that allows you to save come of the drink for later if you like. That's right a can that allows you to save some for later. I also tested it to see if it was leak proof. I knocked it over several times and the top held tight. Besides that unique add on to their energy drink Cintron is promising great tastes. Another thing to point out is that Cintron energy drinks do not use "high fructose corn syrup." So if you are health conscious this is a definite plus! Enough fluff and onto the Cintron Sugar Free Citrus Mango review.

Cintron Sugar Free Citrus Mango Energy Drink Review: Taste
The first product I choose to try was the sugar free version of the Citrus Mango taste. Why start with the sugar free version? Cintron is marketing their drink based on great taste and if they can wow me with the sugar free version they should have no trouble with the regular versions. The Mango taste is quite prevelant and is blended quite nicely with the other ingredients. There was no medicinal aftertaste whatsoever like a lot of the sugar free / low carb energy drinks out there. I have to admit the taste is quite unique, but it is definitely original and should appeal to a large market of people who like citrus flavored energy drinks. Taste Rating 8.8

Cintron Sugar Free Citrus Mango Energy Drink Review: Kick
Well the main energy ingredients that I saw on the dirnk were a plethura of B-Vitamins and taurine. There was no mention of caffeine (so I am not sure if there is any presenet) but upon further review of their website I found an energy ingredient called "Glucuronolactone" which is supposed to improve concentration and act as a stimulant. This same ingredient is found in other major energy drinks like Rock Star and Red Bull. Well did the formula work? It sure did. I did not feel a huge immediate boost of energy but I definitely felt ready to go. I would say I got 3-4 hours of sustained energy from Cintron and there was no crash afterwards. To sum up, if you are looking for a nice sustainable amount of energy, this is the drink for you! Kick Rating 8.5

Cintron Sugar Free Citrus Mango Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Unique taste and sustainable kick. That basically sums up the Cintron Citrus Mango (sugar free). Great entry into the market! Oh and don't forget about the cool top that allows you to seal or save the drink for later. Final Judgment - 8.7

Rockstar Energy Drink Zero Carb Review

Rockstar Energy Drink - Zero Carb
Cost: $2.00
Cost Per Ounce:$0.13
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, Green Tea Extract, Guarana
Taste Rating: 8.8
Kick Rating: 9.2
Final Judgment Rating: 8.9
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Rockstar Energy Drink Zero Carb Review
Well I have reviewed two other products in the Rockstar Energy Drink line up including the Sugar Free Rockstar. Well the energy drink that I am going to review today is the Rockstar Energy Drink Zero Carb. I
choose the 16 ounce can but this Rockstar Energy drink is also available in 24 ounces. I am sure you are all pretty familiar with this company so I don't need to provide you with any background information. They are one of the "biggies" in the energy beverage market so I will just get right to the review.

Rockstar Energy Drink Zero Carb Review: Taste
First off since it is Zero Carbs it has no sugar and few calories (10) so it uses artificial sweeteners which you can tell if you try Rockstar Zero carb. That's right, along with the light berry flavor you get a hint of sweetener and medicinal aftertaste. It is not really that bad but you can taste it slightly. Overall the berry flavor is quite nice with a hint of blueberry and / or raspberry (not quite sure). The berry flavor actually tastes more like a juice than an energy drink. Taste Rating - 8.8

Rockstar Energy Drink Zero Carb Review: Kick
Well the zero Carb Version of the Rock Star Energy Drink line up contains a nice amount of caffeine. The 16 ounce version that I tried contains 240 milligrams of caffeine and the 24 ounce version contains 360 milligrams of caffeine. This equates to about 15 milligrams of caffeine per ounce. Not too shabby at all. But combine that with 2000 milligrams of taurine and 200 milligrams of green tea extract (for the 16 ounce version) and you have a pretty powerful drink. That's right I am actually saying that one of the "big boy's" has a powerful energy drink that is along the lines of the 5 Hour Energy Drink. Not too shabby! Kick Rating - 9.2

Rockstar Energy Drink Zero Carb Review: Final Judgment
Well this installment in the RockStar lineup proved to be quite good. The light berry flavor was not too bad except for the artificial sweetener. The kick is pretty good as well. It kept me going for quite some time. I also like the fact that it is low calorie. Final Judgment 8.9

Swing Juice Fruit Punch Energy Drink Review

Swing Juice Energy Drink - Fruit Punch
Cost: $2.00
Cost Per Ounce:$0.13
Active Ingredients:Caffine, Taurine, B-Vitamins, Ginseng, Gingko Biloba
Taste Rating:8.5
Kick Rating:7.5
Final Judgment Rating:8.0
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Swing Juice Fruit Punch Energy Drink Review
Swing Juice promotes itself as a hybrid energy drink that was developed by an avid golfer to help improve concentration, stamina and energy. Great I already have one thing in common with Swing Juice as I am an avid golfer. But is this going to help improve my golf game? Not sure on that but I can definitely use the help on my short game and maybe Swing Juice Fruit Punch energy drink is what's going to help? Either way the concept is cool as it looks like the drink is specifically promoted towards the golf market.

Swing Juice Fruit Punch Energy Drink Review: Taste
My first drink of Swing Juice Fruit Punch seemed oddly familiar. I could not figure it out at first but then it hit me. It tastes eerily similar to a fruit punch Gatorade which makes sense since they are promoting Swing Juice as a hybrid energy drink. So it is not as sweet as normal energy drinks which is a good thing when sports are involved. Swing Juice even quenches your thirst like a Gatorade. I cracked this open on the 9th hole and nursed it through the 15th hole and it kept me quite refreshed, even in 80 degree weather. Taste Rating 8.5

Swing Juice Fruit Punch Energy Drink Review: Kick
Well the main energy ingredients seem to be caffeine (50 milligrams in 16 ounces), B-Vitamins, Taurine and Ginseng. While there is not a huge energy rush from Swing Juice it is probably the last thing you want when golfing. Golfing takes concentration and focus, the last thing you want is 300 milligrams of caffeine making you all jittery. That being said, the kick was perfect for what Swing Juice was designed for. It kept me focus and energized with out giving me jitters or a sugar crash. Kick Rating 7.5

Swing Juice Fruit Punch Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Great hybrid energy drink! Taste is refreshing and the kick is perfect for a long day of golf. Even though I did not shoot better than average for the round when I had swing juice, I definitely felt more energized and focused. I think the solution to my golf game will require more than an energy drink (can you say extensive golf lessons!). Final Judgment 8.0

One Year 100 Hundred Different Energy Drinks!

Well today marks the 1 year anniversary of the Energy Drink Ratings Blog. That's right, I have been doing this for a whole year. Last Friday I also reviewed Wired Low Carb which helped me reach another milestone as it was my 100th Energy Drink Review! That's right. In a little less than a year I reviewed 100 different energy drinks.

In the last year there has also been several controversial energy drinks released including the Cocaine Energy Drink and Spike Shooter. These drinks garnered media attention for outrageous names and excess caffeine amounts. The latter, excess caffeine, brought forth comments and concerns on whether energy drinks are going to far by adding more and more caffeine and whether or not there should be an Age Limit on energy drinks. I have chimed in with my two cents on both issues but have yet to take a solid stance.

The site has come along way since my first review (Nos Energy Drink). Traffic to the site has grown substantially and companies are sending more and more requests to get their energy drink reviewed. Which is great as this allows me to continue to give you review after review! Also along the way I have added my two cents on what constitutes the Strongest Energy Drink and what makes the best Best Energy Drink. Feedback from readers also continues to grow and has allowed me to hear about energy drinks that I might not have otherwise heard of. I originally started this blog as I was a huge energy drink nut that was getting sick of the same old energy drinks (Red Bull, Rock Star, Monster, etc.) Don't get me wrong, a lot of these mainstream drinks are great, but there are a lot of drinks out there that are just as good if not better. I will continue to strive to deliver a variety of unbiased reviews based on price, taste and kick. Remember don't waste your money until you have read reviews on all the different energy drinks out there. See yah at 200 reviews!

Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Wired Low Carb Energy Drink Review
Well this is not the first Wired Energy Drink that I have reviewed (it's the second) and it won't be the last. Wired has a very extensive product line available in over 15 different flavors / varieties. They also have 8.4 ounce, 16 ounce and 24 ounce cans available (I think they even have a liter available - 32 ounces?). This is by far the most exstensive energy drink product line that I have ever encountered. So yeah I am already giving Wired props for this. Why wouldn't I? Well for today's Energy Drink Review I am going to try the 16 Ounce Wired Low Carb energy drink. It has a pretty cool can. I'm not going to describe it too you, just look at the picture on the right. Other than that I don't have anything to add to the introduction. Oh wait, besides the fact that this will be the 100th energy drink that I have reviewed. So give me a nice round of applause. I mean it start freaking clapping.

Wired Low Carb Energy Drink Review: Taste
This is the first lwo carb drink from Wired that I have tried, but it is not the first low carb drink that I have ever tried. The majority of low carb / low calorie drinks I have tried have a weird aftertaste (few exceptions) usually from the sweetners. Well this doesn't seem to be the case with the low carb Wired energy drink. It does use sweetners (sucralose), but the forumula tastes much better IMHO than the likes of Rockstar Sugar Free. The taste is somewhat hard to pinpoint but it seems to have somewhat of a citrus flavor to it. I guess you will just have to take my advice that it tastes good for a low carb energy drink. Taste Rating 8.5.

Wired Low Carb Energy Drink Review: Kick
We have established that this is a good tasting diet / low carb drink. But how does it hold up in the kick category? Well it definitely gave me a good kick. Not exactly sure how much caffeine is in the drink but Wired is known for packing a nice punch in their drinks from caffeine, taurine and b-vitamins.
The Low Carb Version contains a nice amount of all three while keeping the calories to 10 for 16 ounces. The lack of sugar did not seem to hinder the energy delivery like normal sugar-free energy drinks. It only took about 20 minutes before I felt my blood starting to flow faster. No jitters or no crash associated with this bad boy. Kick Rating - A healthy 8.8

Wired Low Carb Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Well it had been awhile since I had a product from Wired, but after trying their low carb energy drink I might have to bump up some of their other products for faster review. Overal this beverage has a good taste for a diet / low carb energy beverage and it also gives a pretty good kick as well. Check back later for some of the other 15 reviews of the Wired lineup. Final Judgment - 8.7!

Mad Croc Energy Drink Review

Mad Croc Energy Drink
Cost: $1.00-$1.50
Cost Per Ounce:$0.12-$0.24
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating:8.4
Kick Rating:7.5
Final Judgment Rating:8.4
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Mad Croc Energy Drink Review
Well basically the Mad Croc Energy drink is toted as your "every day energy drink." I am here to give you my Energy Drink Review and two cents pertaining to this product. Besides the regular version, they also have a sugar-free version as well as energy chews and energy gum which I will review later. Seems like Mad Croc is not only going after the "every day" user with their 8.4 ounce energy beverage, they are also going after college students. Looks like they recently sponsored the National Lampoons spring break in
Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Wish I could have been there. Think of it. Girls, Sun, Cocktails and Mad Croc (in that order, sorry Mad Croc). Would have been a blast. Well enough fluff and onto the actual review.

Mad Croc Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well this energy drink comes in a cool 8.4 ounce slim can. The can has a slogan that says "energy with a wild bite." At first I was a little concerned because when I think of bite I think of medicinal aftertaste. Luckily for me I really did not have to worry about this with Mad Croc. There was no medicinal bite, it was actually quite sweet. The flavor is very similar to Red Bull except for the fact that it is noticeably sweeter. In my review of Red Bull I remarked on the medicinal aftertaste. I believe Mad Croc has improved on this by making a sweeter version of Red Bull without the medicinal aftertaste! So if you are a fan of Red Bull, give Mad Croc a try. You won't be disapointed. In fact I am willing to bet that you could do a blind taste test between the two and you probably would not even notice. Taste Rating - 8.4

Mad Croc Energy Drink Review: Kick
Although Mad Croc improved on the Red Bull taste it doesn't look like they upped the anti in the kick category. Still looks like the 8.4 ounce can has about 80 milligrams of caffeine combined with taurine and a bunch of B-vitamins. Don't get me wrong it still has a pretty good kick but there are stronger energy drinks out there. In Mad Croc's defense they do tote the beverage as being an "every day energy drink." So you really don't need 200 milligrams of caffeine to mow the lawn. To sum up the kick was decent but not over the top. Kick Rating 7.5.

Mad Croc Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Well there was a definite improvement on the Red Bull flavor (less medicinal aftertaste) but the kick was pretty much the same. I look forward to also trying the sugar free version to see if they improved the taste here as well. Overall the best improvement seems to be that you can find these drinks extremely cheap. You can buy them in tons of place including, Target, 7-11 and even online from $1 to $1.50. So you can basically get two of these for the price of one Red Bull. I like that!! Final Judgment - 8.4 (extra points for a bargain buy!)

Xtreme Shock Fruit Punch Energy Drink Review

Xtreme Shock Fruit Punch
Cost: $2.59
Cost Per Ounce:$0.22
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Energy Blend???
Taste Rating:7.0
Kick Rating:9.0 - Intense
Final Judgment Rating:8.5
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Xtreme Shock Fruit Punch Energy Drink Review
Well this drink comes from ANSI. They have a variety of products ranging from thermogenic fat loss to protein bars. ANSI seems to focus on weight loss products and general products to help you work out. That being sad this product is probably not for the average person looking for a quick pick me up from an Energy Drink. It seems designed for the gym or sports enthusiast. Xtreme Shock Fruit Punch Energy Drink comes in a 12 ounce plastic resealable bottle. There are also two other flavors, grape and mandarin orange which I will review later. The label on the Xtreme Shock energy drink states "feel the rush in 15 minutes." Let's see how it taste and if it can hold up to the 15 minute rush statement!

Xtreme Shock Fruit Punch Energy Drink Review: Taste
My first thoughts on the drink were that it was not going to taste very good since it was geared more towards the gym rat or athletic enthusiast. However, on the way to the gym my initial taste impression was not too bad. It generally tastes like fruit punch with the exception that there is an overwhelming cherry taste. There is a slight medicinal aftertaste to the drink but it was not too bad. For the market this drink is going after I think the taste is better than other major competitors like Redline Energy Drink. Looks like the drink is also sugar free, meaning it contains artificial flavoring (from sucralose). Artificial flavoring and sugar substitute is what allows Xtreme shock to keep the calorie count down to 20 calories. Taste Rating 7.0.

Xtreme Shock Fruit Punch Energy Drink Review: Kick
Well we established that the taste is not too bad. How does the kick hold up for Xtreme Shock? Well the quote on the label saying that you will feel the rush in 15 minutes is definitely true. Not only does it give a strong kick it also delivers a tingly sensation throughout your body and lips. This is from the ingredient called Endosine which is derived from an Amino Acid Blend that ANSI has the exlusive rights to. Along with this it also looks like they have a proprietary blend of energy ingredients. I am not sure what some of them are but I did recognize caffeine. 12 ounces of Xtreme Shock delivers 200 milligrams of caffeine. That and the other energy ingredients gave me a pretty intense kick that lasted through my workout and a couple hours after. There was no noticeable crash. This probably stems from the fact that the drink is sugar free. Overall a great kick that is along the lines of the Redline Energy! Kick Rating - 9.0!

Xtreme Shock Fruit Punch Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
The taste is not bad and the kick is intense. The Endosine flush adds to the overall aura of the kick as well which is pretty neat. The drink pumped me up during my workout and would probably do the same for you as well. Just remember there is 200 milligrams of caffeine in here so make sure you hydrate when using this for any intense workout / athletics. Final Judgment - 8.5!

Vim & Vigor Berry Energy Drink Review

Vim & Vigor Berry Energy Drink

Cost: $2.00
Cost Per Ounce:$0.17
Active Ingredients:B-Vitamins, Caffeine, Guarana, Ginseng
Taste Rating:9.6
Kick Rating:8.0
Final Judgment Rating:9.0
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Vim & Vigor Berry Energy Drink Review
Well the Vim & Vigor Berry Energy drink is being marketed as a premium energy drink that combines the best ingredients of Energy Drinks and Gourmet Sodas. What does this mean? To me it means that they are going after a different market. They are not attempting to make the strongest energy drink, but they are trying to give you a superb tasting one. This 12 ounce Vim & Vigor energy drink contains 150 calories and comes in a old style glass bottle which in itself is quite unique. Well lets see if V&V can deliver on a great tasting energy drink. Onto the review!

Vim & Vigor Berry Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well it seems that their mission is to deliver a great tasting energy drink. Turns out they have done just that. This is probably the best tasting berry energy drink that I have ever had. The berry flavor seamlessly blends raspberries and cranberries. It also seems that there might be a hint of lime flavor in it as well. Not only is this a great tasting stand alone energy drink, it also works as a great mixer! Vodka and V&V berry! Wow! That is all I really have to say. If you are looking for a great tasting berry energy drink than look no further, this one is going to be hard to beat! Taste Rating - 9.6

Vim & Vigor Berry Energy Drink Review: Kick
Well we have established that the taste is outstanding, how does the kick hold up? Looks like the energy ingredients seem to be B-Vitamins, Caffeine, Guarana and Ginseng. Caffeine is down there on the list of ingredients but the combination of the above ingredients makes for a pretty decent kick. Although not the strongest on the market, Vim & Vigor Berry did not give me jitters or a crash associated with a caffeine overload. All in all they seem to deliver on what they promised, a smooth sustained lift! Kick Rating - 8.0

Vim & Vigor Berry Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Vim & Vigor never promised to pack a whollop when it comes to the kick. What they did promise was an energy drink that sustained a smooth level of "lift" while delivering great taste. They have definitely pulled through on this promise. They have met and exceeded my expectations in the taste category and I believe they will do this for you as well. If you can get your hands on one of these I highly recommend trying one. Final Judgment - 9.0

XS Energy - Tropical Blast(caffeine free)

XS Energy Drink
Cost: $1.99
Cost Per Ounce:$0.25
Active Ingredients:B-Vitamins, Folic Acid
Taste Rating:8.7
Kick Rating:7.0
Final Judgment Rating:7.5
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

XS Energy - Tropical Blast(caffeine free)
Well this would be the second XS Energy Drink that I have reviewed that has no caffeine. The first one was the Cranberry Grape Blast which was not too bad. The kick was not comparable to one of the Strongest Energy Drinks but it was not too bad. Since I was quite pleased with the results of the last caffeine free XS, I thought I would also give the XS Tropical Blast Caffeine Free energy drink a try. The consensus remains the same so far among the drinks, they are all sugar free, low carb and have very few calories. The tropical blast only has 8 calories (8.4 ounces). Enough fluff and onto the review.

XS Energy - Tropical Blast(caffeine free) Review: Taste
Well usually the XS Energy Drinks flavor is basically what it says on the can. So if it says it taste like cranberry grape, it does. However, with the Tropical Blast the name is a little ambiguous. However, pinpointing the flavor was not. It basically tastes like Hawaiian Punch. I have not had that since I was a kid, but the flavor brings back wonderful memories. Whatever, it tastes good. Taste Rating - 8.7

XS Energy - Tropical Blast(caffeine free) Review: Kick
Well since this drink has no caffeine, the Energy Drink ingredients basically come from B-Vitamins which is not too bad if you are not a big caffeine nut. Here are the percentage daily allowances of the various B-Vitamins in this drink: B-12 4900%, B-6 300%, B-5 100%, B-3 100%. You won't feel the instant rush like you do with most caffeine energy drinks but you will feel a nice boost in energy. You also won't have the crash usually associated with caffeine laden energy drinks. All in all this is a good alternative to get energy if you are sensitive to caffeine. Kick Rating - 7.0

XS Energy - Tropical Blast(caffeine free) Review: Final Judgment
The kick is not the greatest but the taste rocks. Still yet to be disappointed by XS! Final Judgment - 7.5

Jet Set Tonic Energy Drink Review

Jet Set Tonic Energy Drink
Cost: $1.50-$2.00
Cost Per Ounce:$0.14 - $0.19
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, Guarana, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating:8.1
Kick Rating:8.3
Final Judgment Rating:8.2
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Jet Set Tonic Energy Drink Review
Well this would be the final installment of the Jet Set Energy Drink line up. I have reviewed the Original Jet Energy Drink which is very similar to Red Bull. The other Jet Set Products are meant to be used as mixers. These include Ginger Ale and Club Soda flavors. Well the final installment is going to be the Jet Set Tonic Energy Drink which is available in a 10.5 ounce can for about $2.00. There is no better way to give this a try than as a mixer for my tonic and gin! Oh and if your interested in purchasing it you will be able to find it starting May 7, 2007 in the mixer section of a Safeway Store.

Jet Set Tonic Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well as I stated above I have reviewed all the other Jet Set energy drinks and so far they have all made excellent mixers. I actually even liked the Ginger Ale as a stand alone energy drink. But when it came to Jet Set Tonic Energy Drink I did not even bother to try it as a stand alone energy drink as Tonic has an acquired taste and I personally can not consume it without it being mixed with something. So I mixed it with Gin and as with the previous Jet Set Drinks, the Tonic flavor makes for an excellent mixer. Again I would not recommend drinking this beverage by itself, but when used as a mixer it is an excellent choice. Taste Rating 8.1 (when used as a mixer)

Jet Set Tonic Energy Drink Review: Kick
Why not put a little extra kick in your cocktail? If this is what you are looking to do then look no further than the Jet Set lineup. All the products make excellent mixers and bring an extra kick to the table while doing it and the Jet Set Tonic Energy Drink is no exception. Energy ingredients include 120 milligrams of caffeine, 1000 milligrams of taurine, some Guarana and B-Vitamins. Overall not too shabby. It definitely serves its purpose. Just remember when mixing alcohol with energy drinks (or anything for that matter) moderation is the key. Kick Rating 8.3

Jet Set Tonic Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Jet Set has a unique line up of beverages that all make good mixers and would be a great addition to any bar or night club. So if you are looking for a great mixer check out this line up. You can choose from club soda, tonic and ginger ale or the original Jet Set(which taste like Red Bull). Final Judgment - 8.2

Lost Five-0 Energy Juice Review

Lost Five-0 Energy Drink
Cost: $1.99
Cost Per Ounce:$0.12
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, Guarana, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating:8.6
Kick Rating:8.4
Final Judgment Rating:8.5
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Lost Five-0 Energy Juice Review
Well I have reviewed the original Lost Energy Drink quite some time ago. Looks like Lost has introduced another new flavor called Lost Five-0 Energy Drink. Is this beverage supposed to give me enough energy to run away from the Cops? We will find out later in the energy drink review how good the kick is (but I am not going to test it by running away from the cops). Well at the very least, the parent company Hansen's has come up with a unique name for the drink. Who know's I might fall in love with it as I can be a sucker for Juice Based Energy Drinks. Enough fluff and onto the Lost Five-O review.

Lost Five-0 Energy Juice Review: Taste
Well at only 140 calories per can, this 16 ounce lightly carbonated energy drink has a basic orange flavor to it. It is also about 50% juice, which is on the lower end of juice flavored drinks. However, this turns out to be a perfect blend as far as smoothness goes. Basically a lightly carbonated juice drink that is easy to drink, has an orange citrus taste to it and is relatively low in sugar and calories. Not my favorite energy juice drink, but not too bad. Taste Rating - a Juicy 8.6

Lost Five-0 Energy Juice Review: Kick
Well I could not find out how much caffeine was in the Lost Five-0 energy drink, but if it is similar to the Lost Energy Drink than it probably contains somewhere around 160 milligrams per 16 ounces (don't quote me on that). However, Lost Five-0 still contains all the other good stuff including Guarana, Taurine, Ginseng and B-Vitamins. Anyways this energy juice seems to give off a pretty decent kick and would probably make for a decent energy juice to have in the morning. You can check out other good breakfast beverages in my Best Energy Drink post. I've digressed. Lost Five 0 = Decent Kick, but nothing to brag about. Kick Rating - 8.4

Lost Five-0 Energy Juice Review: Final Judgment
Well I am a fan of energy juices so overall I was quite pleased with Lost Five-0. It has a decent taste and would probably make for a good mixer as well. Along with that comes a pretty decent kick. I didn't test it by running from the cops, but I am sure someone has or will. Either way this is a good edition to the market. Final Judgment - 8.5

XS Energy - Electric Lemon Blast Drink Review

XS Energy Drink - Electic Lemon Blast
Cost: $1.99
Cost Per Ounce:$0.25
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, B-Vitamins, Ginseng
Taste Rating:8.4
Kick Rating:8.8
Final Judgment Rating:8.6
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

XS Energy - Electric Lemon Blast Drink Review
Well I have reviewed several of the XS Energy Drinks so far. They have quite a variety of flavors to choose from that are all low carb and sugar free. Some of these flavors are Cherry Blast, Cola Blast, Cranberry Grape and Tea Berry Blast. Well today I am going to tackle the Electric Lemon Blast from XS. This is one of the higher calories drinks from XS. It has 16 calories opposed to the others having around 8. What a travesty right? Just kidding, 16 calories for a 8.4 ounce Energy Drink is not too shabby, especially when you consider that some have in excess of 300 calories! Enough fluff and onto the XS Energy Electric Lemon Blast Review!

XS Energy - Electric Lemon Blast Drink Review: Taste
Well first off if you have ever had a artificially sweetened lemonade, you would immediately recognize the flavor - Strong and Tangy! Yes it has a very strong lemon taste to it. But hey, the flavor is labeled pretty clearly on the container so I guess they hit the nail right on the head. Sometimes when artificial sweeteners (acesulfame potassium & sucralose) are used the flavor is affected. Not the case here or in general for XS energy Drinks. Good solid lemon taste. Taste Rating - 8.4

XS Energy - Electric Lemon Blast Drink Review: Kick
Electric Lemon Blast contains caffeine (not sure how much), taurine, ginseng and tons of B-Vitamins which ends up providing a decent kick. Nothing to brag about but quite sufficient for about 3 hours. The lack of sugar might slow down the delivery of the kick, but at least you wont get the crash associated with many high sugar energy drinks. Overall not too bad in the kick category. 8.8

XS Energy - Electric Lemon Blast Review: Final Judgment
XS has a variety of flavors that have so far been pleasant to consume. The Electric Lemon Blast performs well in both the taste and kick categories. The fact that the drinks are all low carb, low calorie and sugar free also helps XS score high marks. Still yet to be disappointed! Final Judgment - 8.6

Phat Phruit Peach Mango Energy Drink Review

Phat Phruit Peach

Active Ingredients:Caffein, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating:8.3
Kick Rating:7.5
Final Judgment Rating:7.9
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Phat Phruit Peach Mango Energy Drink Review
Well this is the last installment of the Phat Phruit Line Up. Previous flavors that I have reviewed include; Grape Strawberry, Green Apple,Pineapple Orange and Rasberry Limeade. The next flavor to review is the Phat Phruit Peach Mango Energy Drink. All of the flavors come in 16 ounce resealable plastic bottles and retail for around $1.25 which is a pretty good deal. They also contain 11 essential vitamins and minerals plus a substantial amount of calcium. I believe drinking two Phat Phruits is the equivalent of one glass of milk. Onto the review!

Distribute Phat Phruit

Phat Phruit Peach Mango Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well as with the other flavors that I mentioned above, the flavor is basically stated on the bottle. So the taste of the peach mango does not really deviate much from the description. The Mango seemed to be a little more prevalant than the peach, but overall it was a nice fruity flavor. The Peach Mango Phat Phruit was not too sweet as they use artificial sweeteners. Even with the sweeteners there is absolutely no medicinal aftertaste present. There is also only 40 calories per serving (80 total) so that helps a little. Overall a pretty decent tasting drink. Taste Rating - 8.3

Phat Phruit Peach Mango Energy Drink Review: Kick
Well if you have read any of the other Phat Phruit reviews that I have done you may have realized that the energy, or "kick" ingredients are the same across the board. This is not an extremely powerful energy drink by any means. But the combination of caffeine and b-vitamins makes for a pretty decent kick with no jitters or after ffects. Kick Rating - 7.5

Phat Phruit Peach Mango Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
If you are looking for a reasonably priced energy beverage, then you really can't go wrong with the Phat Phruit line up. Especially for $1.25 and 16 ounces of good flavor and decent kick . Final Judgment - 7.9

Amp Overdrive Energy Drink Review

Amp Overdrive Energy Drink
Cost: $2.00
Cost Per Ounce:$0.13
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, Guarana, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating:8.2
Kick Rating:8.0
Final Judgment Rating:8.1
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Amp Overdrive Energy Drink Review
Well it has been quite awhile since Pepsi has released the Amp Energy Drink. They have not done too much since the release of the Amp Energy Drink Review. About the only thing they did was make it available in a tall boy (16 ounces) and Big Rig (24 ounces) cans as well as the regular8.4 ounce slim can. Well not too long ago Mountain Dew (Pepsi) released the Amp Overdrive Energy drink. Considering that it has been almost a year since I reviewed the last Amp product I thought it was time to give the new Amp Overdrive a try. I got my hands on a 16 ounce can and here are my thoughts on Amp Overdrive.

Amp Overdrive Energy Drink Review: Taste
First off the original Amp tasted eerily similar to Mountain Dew. The new Amp Overdrive Energy Drink tastes eerily similar the Mountain Dew Code Red. The only difference seems to be that this cherry flavored beverage seems to be a little sweeter than Code Red. Mountain Dew (Pepsi) does do a good job of masking the medicinal aftertaste as I could not find any medicinal aftertaste at all. So we basically have a sweet cherry flavored energy drink on our hands that tastes pretty similar to Mountain Dew Code Red. I am a big fan of the original Mountain Dew but not so much for the Code Red. You would think that with all the resources available to Pepsi that they could have spent a little more time developing a unique line of energy drinks but this does not seem to be the case here. If you like Mountain Dew Code Red, you will like Amp Overdrive, plain and simple. Taste Rating - 8.2

Amp Overdrive Energy Drink Review: Kick
We have established that this is pretty much Mountain Dew Code Red reformulated as an energy drink. But how does it hold up? Well with more caffeine (142 milligrams in a 16 ounce can( than Code Red and added energy ingredients like Taurine, Guarana, Ginseng and B-Vitamins a decent kick should be forthcoming. However, as with the original Amp, the kick is nothing to brag about. The kick did last awhile, but there was a little crash associated with it. Afterall, there is 58 grams of sugar in a 16 ounce version of Amp Overdrive. Kick Rating - 8.0

Amp Overdrive Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Well the taste is far from creative, but none the less it is still pretty good and should sit well with any Code Red drinkers out there. The kick is not very powerful when taking the rest of the market into prospective, but it is not too shabby. One good thing is that they do offer it in several sizes, 8.4, 16 and 24 ounces. Combine that with a pretty competitive price of $2.00 and you got yourself an average energy drink. Nothing to brag about, but not too bad. Final Judgment - 8.1

Whey UP Protein Energy Drink Review

Whey Up Protein Energy Drink

Cost Per Ounce:$0.19
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating:8.6
Kick Rating:9.0
Final Judgment Rating:9.5
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Whey Up Protein Energy Drink Review
Last month I heard about a new breed of energy drink called Whey Up Protein Energy Drink. I was pretty excited as this drink contains 22 grams of protein, only one carb and it has a proprietary energy blend of caffeine, taurine and B-Vitamins. Why was I excited? Well I work out daily, so about an hour before my workout I would consume a protein drink and then about 30 minutes prior to a workout I would consume an energy drink. Well with the Whey Up Protein Energy Drink there is no need to do this. Now I can get my protein and energy in one 16 ounce canned drink.

Official Site: Whey Up Protein Energy Drink

Whey Up Protein Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well first off I was a little concerned with how the drink might taste. As some of you who have tried protein shakes know, they are not always the best tasting. Fortunately for me Whey Up came in a pretty good tasting berry flavor. It was not thick lick a normal protein drink, but it was a little thicker than a normal energy drink. Whey Up is also non carbonated, meaning that you are not going to have trouble keeping it down when doing an intense workout. Combine all this with the fact that it has only 90 calories and we have ourselves a very unique energy drink that tastes good and is well suited for a workout. Since Whey Up tasted so much better than what I expected and since it tastes better than pretty much all protein shakes that I have tried I am going to give it a taste rating of 8.6.

Whey Up Protein Energy Drink Review: Kick
The berry taste is good, but how about the kick? Well by combining caffeine, taurine and a plethora of B-Vitamins the Whey Up Protein Energy Drink kept me energized throughout my entire workout. I even had enough energy after lifting to do 20 minutes of cardio, which I usually dread doing. There is 150 milligrams of caffeine in the Whey UP Protein Energy Drink. This is not a ton of caffeine which is actually a good thing when looking for a energy drink to workout with. Too much caffeine before or during a workout can lead to cramps and dehydration. I experienced neither before, after or during my workout. Overall I was very impressed with the effects of this beverage. I would highly recommend this for use during a workout! Kick Rating - 9.0.

Whey Up Protein Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
I was more than pleased with this drink. It had a good berry taste and it kept me energized throughout my entire workout. Is there anything I did not like about this drink? Sure there are a couple things that I wish Whey Up would have done. First I wish that this was available in my area. Currently it seems to only be available in the Hi-Health World of Nutrition stores in Arizona. The second thing that Whey Up couldd do is make another one of these for a post workout drink. Add extra carbs a little more protein, a hint of creatine and some anti-oxidants and keep the energy blend and you got yourself a pretty good post workout drink (just not sure how it would taste)! Overall I applaud the inventor, Erik Rothchild, for filling a void in the workout energy drink market by creating this great drink! I hope he can increase distribution or at least make it available for purchase online. Final Judgment - 9.5 (extra points for thinking outside the box!)

Monster Assault Energy Drink Review
Well today I thought I would complete the review of all the Monster Energy Drinks by finally trying the Monster Assault Energy Drink. Yeah, yeah, I know it has been out for a long time but I have been so busy with my other more obscure Energy Drink Reviews that I have neglected some of the big boys. Well slowly but surely I will chip away at them. Enough BS and onto the 16 ounce Monster Assault Energy Drink Review!

Monster Energy Drink - Original

Monster Assault Energy Drink Review: Taste
I am sure it is safe to say that the majority of you reading this post are pretty familiar with the Original Monster Energy Drink. If not the original has a distinct citrus taste to it. Well the Monster Assault Energy Drink is not too much different. The only real difference that I could for sure pin point is that the citrus taste was a little more tart than the original. Maybe a hint of berry flavor? Not exactly sure how to describe it. However, in my opinion the taste was substantially better than the original and that is all that really matters. So if you are looking to try a new flavor of Monster and you like the original, give Monster Assault a try. Taste Rating - 8.9

Monster Assault Energy Drink Review: Kick
Well as far as I can tell the energy ingredients are the same as all the other Monster Drinks. I have no idea how much caffeine is exactly in this drink but the original has 140 milligrams of caffeine (16 ounces) and I believe (don't quote me)that the Assault has the same amount. Besides the caffeine there is also 2000 milligrams of taurine (16 ounces) and a nice helping of B-Vitamins. So again the kick is pretty good, it kept me going for quite awhile, although there was a slight crash after about 3 hours. Nothing too bad, but I could notice it. Kick Rating - 8.8

Monster Assault Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Well it taste better than the original monster, gives off the same kick and has a pretty decent price tag of $1.99. Monster also offers quite a variety as you can get it in an 8.3, 16 or 24 ounce can. The bases seem to be covered for a good energy drink so I will give it a Final Judgment of 8.9.

XS Energy - Cherry Blast Energy Drink Review
Well I have been on a roll reviewing the variety of XS Energy Drinks so I thought I would try another one today. Today's drink is the XS Cherry Blast. Everything is basically the same as the past XS beverages that I have reviewed. XS Cherry Blast is 8.4 ounces, costs about $1.99 and has 0 carbs, 0 sugar, and only eight calories. Onto the review of the XS Cherry Blast Energy Drink!

XS Energy - Cherry Blast Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well since it has limited calories you know that they had to use artificial sweeteners (acesulfame potassium & sucralose). Sometimes this affects the overall taste of the drink but XS did a nice job here. The light cherry flavor does an exceptional job of hiding the sweeteners. Other than that there is not much to say on the taste, it's cherry flavored! Taste Rating - 8.8

XS Energy - Cherry Blast Energy Drink Review: Kick
Yesterday I reviewed a Caffeine Free Energy Drink that did not quite do it for me. Luckily for me the XS Energy Drink Cherry blast has caffeine in it long with Taurine, Ginseng and tons of B-Vitamins. So the kick is similar to all the other XS beverages that I have reviewed. It is not outstanding but it is definitely noticeable and is good for about 3 hours. The lack of sugar might make the delivery a little slower on this one but I was not positive. Either way it has a decent kick. Kick Rating - 8.8

XS Energy - Cherry Blast Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Another well done beverage from XS. I have yet to be disappointed by them and the Cherry Blast is no exception. Good clean crisp taste, low calories, low carbs, no sugar and a decent kick. Would be a nice drink to get you going in the morning or before a workout. Just remember if you consume an energy drink before any physical activity make sure you offset it with a good amount of water! Final Judgment 8.8!

XS Energy - Cranberry Grape Blast (Caffeine Free)

Caffeine Free XS Energy - Cranberry Grape

Cost: $1.99
Cost Per Ounce:$0.25
Active Ingredients:B-Vitamins, Taurine
Taste Rating:8.6
Kick Rating:7.0
Final Judgment Rating:7.5
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

XS Energy - Cranberry Grape Blast (Caffeine Free)
So far I have been impressed with the XS Energy Drink line. Last month I was able to review the Cola Blast and the Tea Berry Blast flavors. There has been one consensus so far among the drinks, they are all sugar free, low carb and have very few calories. Well today I will review the Cranberry Grape Blast energy drink. The only difference between this and the others I have reviewed so far is that this one has no caffeine. The XS Cranberry Grape comes still comes in a sleek 8.4 ounce can, has no sugar, zero carbs and only has 8 calories. Let's see how it fairs in the review.

XS Energy - Cranberry Grape Blast (Caffeine Free): Taste
Well as it was with the other XS beverages that I have reviewed, the name on the can basically states what kind of flavor you are going to get. You get a lightly carbonated cranberry grape flavor. The grape flavor seems to be more prevalent than the cranberry. Since there is no sugar XS uses artificial sweeteners (acesulfame potassium & sucralose). In my opinion this does not affect the taste very much at all. As far as affecting your health I will leave that up to the medical field. Overall the cranberry grape flavored XS is a great tasting drink - Taste Rating - 8.6

XS Energy - Cranberry Grape Blast (Caffeine Free): Kick
As I stated in the intro, this drink has no caffeine. Why is it still an energy drink then? It still has Taurine (though I am not sure how much) and Plenty of B-Vitamins. Here are the the percentage daily allowances of the various B-Vitamins in this drink: B-12 4900%, B-6 300%, B-5 100%, B-3 100%. So basically the energy derived from this drink seems to come from B-Vitamins which is not bad if you are not a big caffeine nut. However, the absence of caffeine made the comparison of this drink to others a little harder. It does not give off as good as a kick as the other XS drinks (or other caffeine energy drinks in general). However, this drink becomes a viable alternative for those looking for energy drinks without caffeine. It also becomes a viable alternative for those looking for a natural boost before working out. Regardless the kick was less than what I am used to. Kick Rating 7.0

XS Energy - Cranberry Grape Blast (Caffeine Free): Final Judgment
The kick is not that great as there is no caffeine but the taste is pretty good. If you are looking for a pick me up or a nice little kick without caffeine I recommend you give this one a try. Final Judgment - 7.5

Monster Khaos Energy Juice Review

Monster Khaos Energy Juice

Monster Khaos Energy Juice Review
Well this would be my third installment of reviewing Monster Energy Drinks. Usually I tend to look for more obscure energy drinks but I have heard some good buzz about the Monster Khaos Energy Juice. I like the idea that energy drinks are trying to be more health conscious with the addition of juice drinks and I liked the previous drinks from Monster(Low Carb Monster and Original Monster Energy Drink) so I thought it is about time that I reviewed Khaos. Well enough fluff and onto the review.

Or take a look at the other reviews from Monster

Monster Energy Drink - Original

Monster Khaos Energy Juice Review: Taste
This 16 ounce drink contains 90 calories per serving (2 servings per container) and has a distinct peachy citrus flavor taste to it. Monster Khaos is also available in 8.3 and 24 ounce cans as well. They keep the calories down by using artificial sweetener, which does not seem to affect the taste at all. The drink itself seems a little thicker than a normal energy drink, but it is on par with other energy juice drinks that I have tried. In all the drink contains 70% juice, which is pretty good when considering the calories, but there are other drinks out there with more juice in them. Overall I really enjoyed the taste. Monster Khaos Energy Drink made for a great breakfast energy drink. Taste Rating - 8.8

Monster Khaos Energy Juice Review: Kick
Well I am not exactly sure how much caffeine is in a 16 ounce Monster Khaos as the label is a bit aambiguous but I think all Monster drinks use the same energy blend. The drink has 2500 milligrams per serving (serving size 8 ounces) of Energy Blend. This energy blend contains Caffeine and Guarana. Besides this energy blend there is also 1000 milligrams (per serving) of Taurine. Well if it's anything like the 140 milligrams of caffeine you get with the 16 ounce Original Monster Energy Drink then I can understand why I had such a great kick from this drink. So again I am not sure how much caffeine is actually in the drink but the kick was pretty darn good. Kick Rating 8.8!

Monster Khaos Energy Juice Review: Final Judgment
Well it has sligtly less calories than the orinal Monster and it has 70% juice. The taste is good and the kick is just as good as the original. You get to choose from 8.3, 16 or 24 ounces. So all the bases seem to be covered for a good energy drink. The price tag of $1.99 for the 16 ounce is pretty much on par with the rest of the market. I might even consider updating the Best Energy Drink list in the breakfast category! Final Judgment - 8.8

Jet Set Ginger Ale Energy Drink Review

Cost: $1.50-$2.00

Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, Guarana, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating:8.4
Kick Rating:8.3
Final Judgment Rating:8.3
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Jet Set Ginger Ale Energy Drink Review
Well I have reviewed two of the four Jet Set Energy Drinks so far. The 1st one I reviewed was Club Soda flavored and made for a pretty good mixer. The second was the Jet Set Original Energy Drink that tastes very similar to Red Bull. The third installment will be the 10.5 ounce Jet Set Ginger Ale Energy Drink available in the Mixer Isle of your local Safeway Store. I have heard from the company that the Jet Set Ginger Ale Energy Drink might also help with hangover's. While I have not personally tried this I can see the validity in the statement. The ginger ale soothes the stomach while the energy components help with the headache. Let's see how it does in the review.

Jet Set Ginger Ale Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well this would be the first energy drink review that I have done on a Ginger Ale flavored energy drink so I was not sure how to review it. Should I mix it or should I drink it straight? Well being Sunday afternoon I opted to just try it straight up. The taste was pretty easy to put a handle on. If you have every had a Schweppes Ginger Ale than you will be pretty familiar with the flavor. The only difference is that it does have a very slight aftertaste from the energy ingredients. Overall it was pretty good and would definitely serve as a replacement for a normal ginger ale and would also make for a nice addition to any mixer. Taste Rating - 8.4!

Jet Set Ginger Ale Energy Drink Review: Kick
Well at 10.5 ounces it is a unique size. Throw in 120 milligrams of caffeine, 1000 milligrams of taurine and plenty of B-Vitamins and you have yourself a pretty well rounded energy drink. The kick is not overwhelming but their is more than enough kick to spice up your drink or get you moving. As I stated earlier this would be a nice addition to any mixer. You could even use this to mix your favorite non-alcoholic drink. If you do use it as a mixer with alcohol, remember moderation is the key. Kick Rating - 8.3

Jet Set Ginger Ale Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Whether drinking by itself or using as a mixer, this beverage is quite unique. It is the 1st Ginger Ale energy drink that I have heard of and it definitely tastes like Ginger Ale while adding a nice kick. Final Judgment - 8.3
