FRS Energy Drink Review - Orange
Well this would be me third review of the FRS Energy Drinks line up. I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the benefits of the last two so I am looking forward to trying the Orange flavored FRS Energy Drink. Here is a little background in case you have not read the other two reviews yet. FRS drinks are being promoted as a healthy alternative to your normal everyday Energy Drinks as they contain flavonoids, vitamins and antioxidants. So what does FRS actually mean? Well FRS or Free Radical Scavengers are were the multitude of antioxidants present in this drink come into play. The antioxidants come from quercetin, which supply the same amount of antioxidant benefits as 8 servings of red onions. FRS also promotes itself as a helpful weight management supplement. Green tea catechins are supposed to help with weight management by increasing your metabolic rate which is where the weight management comes into play. So enough fluff, let's see how it holds up in the taste and kick categories.
FRS Energy Drink Review - Orange: Taste
FRS Energy Drinks comes in 5 different flavors (Orange, Lemon Lime, Peach Mango - Low Cal, Orange - Low Cal, Wild Berry - Low Cal), of which I am reviewing the Low calorie (25 calories) orange flavor today. All five of these flavors come in a 11.5 ounce slim can that is non-carbonated. So how does it taste already... Well the orange flavor is quite strong and there is a noticeable green tea taste as well. This sounds like it would be a bad combination but it is pulled off quite nicely. Don't get me wrong, it does have a slight bitter aftertaste, but in my mind the extra health benefits discussed above by far outweigh this slight bitter taste. Combine that with only 25 calories in the entire can and you have a great drink! Taste Rating - 8.4
FRS Energy Drink Review - Orange: Kick
So the taste is not too bad, especially considering all the health benefits. But how is the kick? Well the energy ingredients in the orange FRS are the same as all the others which include green tea extract (85 milligrams), caffeine and b-vitamins. Now the kick is not immediate, but within 15 minutes I could tell I had some extra juice in my system. The best part about the FRS Energy Drinks is not the initial boost, it is the sustained energy that you get coupled with no crash. Add the metabolic benefits and you have a good tasting drink that provides a sustained kick. Not bad at all. Kick Rating - 8.9
FRS Energy Drink Review - Orange: Final Judgment
Good kick, above average flavor, low calories and excellent health benefits. What more could you ask for? How about a Free two week trial. That's right you can get a free two week trial that includes 2 low calorie ready to drink cans, soft chews, low calorie packets and a low calorie concentrate which amounts to a 14 day supply of sustained energy and metabolic boosters. I believe you have to pay the $5.99 shipping cost, but when you figure that the drink itself costs $2.59 it is not that bad of a deal. Final Judgment - 8.8

Love it. I get the energy I need without the high caffeine content. A days worth of vitamins and tons of antioxidants...a believer. This is coming from a chronic red bull drinker too. Too boot I havent been sick in months.
What are the other ingredients (other than the caffeine and vitamins)?
Does this have sucralose or artificial sweeteners?
How much caffeine does it have?
This is off the Peach Mango low calore drink
INGREDIENTS: Water, Mango Puree, Inulin, White Grape Juice Concentrate, Quercetin, Natural Peach Flavors, Scorbic Acid, Gum Arabic, Lucust Bean Gum, Green Tea Extract, Alpha Tocopheryl Acetate (Vit E), Sucralose, Caffeine, Niacinamide (B3), Natural Lemon Flavor, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride (B6), Thiamin Hydrochloride (B1), Riboflavin (B2), Cyanocobalamin (B12).
Contains 48mg of caffeine (equivalent to approx. 1/2 cup of coffee) Caffeine is used as a metabolic enhancer to help the body absorb other key nutrients in the FRS formula
Love it...love it, love it.
I have been trying out different energy drinks for a while and found that the crash annoys the heck out of me. Some (like the monster-coffee) I love the flavor of, but they just don't have the sustainability. I've also tried 5 Hour Energy which I liked, but many times I want a drink specifically -- like morning workout. I mix a can of this in my nalgene bottle and dilute it with water to drink throughout my workout and it works great.
Not too much caffeine and whatever else they're doing really, seriously, has been able to capture the essence of sustained energy without the crash. I'm honestly astonished.
By the way, FRS is not an "energy drink". Certainly not in the way that the term has come to mean. It is a vitamin and nutrient fortified drink.
Both my friend and I noticed a flavor not unlike cheddar cheese.
Are we the only ones?
Good except for artificial sweeteners I cant believe they are foolish enough to put that crap in. Splenda is in this and it should not be. FRS use Xylitol no Splenda
Not the best taste. I had the low cal orange sampler concentrate. Just add 6 ounces of water to 2 ounces of the concentrate. Very thick drink, tasted VERY much like Tang. I do think it helps with long lasting energy though. I also had the soft chews, and they taste great!
i drink the orange- i to cannot believe they put artificial sweetners
in the other drinks-i wont buy them
I love this stuff too. I go to spin class in the evenings after work. I used to take one dose 1/2-1 hour before class, but it would keep me up at night. Now I simply take a dose in the morning when I wake up and I'm good all day and evening. If I miss the morning dose, I can still take it by 2pm and have great energy for my workout with it disrupting my sleep. I love it!!!
What I meant was that the 2pm dose does NOT disrupt my sleep.
I take the pomegranet blueberry chews... Fantastic! I have energy throughout the day, can stay up long enough to finish all of my work at night, and not have a 'crash' or feel like I got hit by a bus when I wake up. Huge fan!
I love FRS it WORKS and rumba energy juice!
Where can this be found in stores? I have looked and haven't found it anywhere. I didgeta free sample from a promotional give away at teh train station but even those individual weren't able to tell me where I could actually by it.
Thank you!
Safeway, GNC, and other local stores carry FRS. FRS site has a store locater that worked for me and at Safeway was only $1.25 a can.
Compare to Spark by Advocare. Just took both to my Dr. He's a heart surgeon and only recommends Spark or V16.
