Due to popular demand, many Energy Drink manufacturers have been pushing the envelope with new and stronger concoctions. The makers of the original Mini Thin Rush and Mini Thin Rush A.M have heard the market demand for a stronger energy shot and have released the 2 ounce Xtreme Energy Rush. The new Xtreme energy rush promotes instant energy, mental alertness, zero carbs and no sugar and promises Triple Strength! Well I have become a little weary of these promises from some energy shot makers, but I will give Mini Thin the benefit of the doubt since I have reviewed two of their past shots and liked them both. So let's put it to the taste and kick test!

After easily twisting off the cap of the little 2 ounce energy shot, I notice a pink liquid with a tint of red along with a pretty strong aroma for an energy shot. The aroma as well as the taste is a distinct mango flavor that seems just a tad sweet, but overall does a great job masking any medicinal aftertaste that energy shots so commonly have. Although, personally I am not a huge fan of the Mango flavor in general, I think Mini Thin pulled this off quite nicely. If you are looking for an exotic flavored energy shot, than this one might be right up your ally. Taste Rating - 8.5

So does this new extreme version of the Mini Thin shot have an amped up kick? Well I did notice that there is 250 milligrams of caffeine (50 milligrams more than the original) as well as 200 milligrams of taurine and a bunch of b-vitamins. So it is similar to the original with the exception that it has 20% more caffeine and trust me 250 milligrams of caffeine is a lot for a tiny energy shot. As for the "triple strength" wording on the top of the bottle, I believe they are referring to the average energy shot which usually contains about 80 milligrams of caffeine. Nonetheless, this little mini thin packed a nice kick! Kick Rating - 9.5

Mini Thin keeps introducing new shots and I keep drinking them... so far I have enjoyed every one of them. Although mango was not my favorite flavor and it was also a little sweet for a shot, but I do enjoy the extra caffeine that was added. Mini Thin keeps putting out great products that offer an ample kick, so I hope they stick around for awhile in the crowded market. Oh, I almost forgot to mention... then new extreme shot is the same price as the original. So for $2.99 pick up an extreme version and get yourselves a bigger boost! Final Judgment - 9.0
