Spike Energy Drink Review
To tell you the truth I have been waiting to review the Spike Energy Drink for quite awhile now. Basically ever since I did the article on the Spike Energy Drink I have been waiting to try it. It just was not available in my area at the time. This drink really seemed to push the envelope by putting 300 milligrams of caffeine into a little 8.4 ounce can. There was a lot of hoopla about who should or should not drink this beverage. Well if you want to hear more about that stuff read the article. Because today I plan on just giving you a straight up review of the Spike Energy Drink based on price, taste and kick.

Buy Spike Shooter Here

Spike Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well first off I was not expecting a very good taste. Why was I not expecting a very good taste? Well if you cram 300 milligrams of caffeine and energy ingredients into a tiny 8.4 ounce can the results are usually not too pleasing. That is why I was so surprised. Even with all those ingredients Spike Shooter still had a really pleasing fruit punch flavor. To top it all off they made this fruit punch flavored drink with zero calories and zero carbohydrates. Add the fact that even with 300 milligrams of caffeine there was still no medicinal after taste and we have ourselves a tasty beverage! Taste Rating - 9.0

Spike Energy Drink Review: Kick
If you have not picked up that the Spike Energy Drink has 300 milligrams of caffeine in it than you haven't been paying attention. So what's the deal with 300 milligrams of caffeine? To put it in prospective a Red Bull has 80 milligrams of caffeine. So is Spike the strongest energy drink I have had? No. There are a few others out there with more caffeine but Spike has the most caffeine per ounce. And how was the kick? Pretty intense actually. It gave me a huge boost of energy that lasted several hours. Best part is that I had no crash after consuming which probably has to do with the blend of B-Vitamins and proprietary energy blend. But I have tried well over 100 energy drinks so I recommend that you follow the directions and pay attention to the warnings on the can before you consume Spike. Specifically don't drink this if you are under 16, pregnant or have allergic reactions to caffeine. There are more warnings on the can so just read them before consuming. They also recommend that you start off by trying a half a can to determine tolerance and do not have more than one can a day. If you use this before or during a workout like I did make sure you drink a lot of water to keep hydrated. Kick Rating - 10

Spike Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Super strong kick in a small can with a great fruit punch taste. This is not the strongest energy drink I have tried, but it is definitely the strongest best tasting one that I have tried. Combine that with the fact that you can get these for right around $2.00 a can or you can save money by ordering them in bulk. Final Judgment 9.5

Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Fixx Energy Drink Review
Well today I thought I would review one of the lesser known Energy Drinks. This Fixx energy drink seems like it could be classified more as a thermogenics fat burner than an energy drink, but I suppose it could go either way. First off I want to start by saying that the 20 ounce Fix energy drink comes in a reseal able bottle and their website promotes it as helping significantly boost metabolism. There are other drinks on the market that claim to do this but usually the claim states that you have to drink two a day for a certain period of time. Well the Fixx Energy drink claims to help burn calories by just drinking it. Now I have no way of measuring this but I will give you my thoughts on it later.

Get Your Fixx Here!

Fixx Energy Drink Review: Taste
First off I want to state that since the product is more along the lines of a thermogenic fat burner I was not expecting much in the taste category. But my first impression of the drink was actually not too bad. There is a distinct berry flavor to the drink as well as a distinct green tea taste to it. Actually the green tea taste is quite powerful, so if you like green tea this might be the flavor for you. Well I have reviewed other thermogenic fat burner drinks and I have to say that Fixx tastes better than their competition Redline Energy. However, that is not the hardest thing to accomplish. But if you drink Fixx ice cold and remember to shake before consuming the tast is OK. Taste Rating - 7

Fixx Energy Drink Review: Kick
Well the taste is not the greatest, but how does the kick stand up to the competition. Well it doesn't. The reason being is that this drink blows the competition out of the water when it comes to kick. This is by far the strongest energy drink that I have ever had. There is 500 milligrams of caffeine in this 20 ounce bottle! I never felt so energized in my life. Even with that much caffeine I still did not crash. Just constant energy. I drank Fixx after my workout and I was still slammed with energy until I went to sleep. It was seriously crazy. My advice when drinking one of these is to maybe try half a bottle at first to see if you can handle it. I mean I drink energy drinks daily and this one was off the charts. Oh yeah, make sure you drink plenty of water when consuming this as well. Wouldn't want to get dehydrated! As far as the kick rating goes I don't know if my scale of 1 to 10 can do this drink justice. If I had a scale that went to 11 I would use it. But since I don't - Kick Rating - 10!!!

Fixx Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Well there you have it. The strongest drink I have had to date. There was no sugar crash involved here but there were some slight jitters (from me not being able to sit still)! The taste is not the greatest but it is not bad for a fat burner energy drink. I can see the claim of "burning calories" by just drinking it having some merit. I mean I could hardly sit still and I have drank quite a few energy beverages in the day. The only other thing to say is remember to hydrate when consuming Fixx. Also, even though I enjoyed the kick they should include some kind of warning label on the can so young kids do not get ahold of this. I don't think this much caffeine would be good for them. But thats just my two cents. Final Judgment 8.8!

Smart Power Energy Drink Review

Smart Power 16 Ounce Can

Cost: $2.00

Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, B-Vitamins, Ginseng, Yerba Mate
Taste Rating:9.0
Kick Rating:9.1
Final Judgment Rating:9.1
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Smart Power Energy Drink Review
Well there has been a lot of buzz lately in the energy drink world. A lot of it being negative concerning excess caffeine amounts (Spike Energy Drink) and misleading information (Cocaine Energy Drink. Among all this negative buzz comes positive buzz pertaining to the new Smart Power Energy drinks. Why positive buzz? Well the Smart Power Energy Drink people have taken a different approach to marketing their drink. One of their drinks (which I will review shortly), called Nuclear Waste Antidote, aims to raise awareness on nuclear issues by sponsoring an open forum where there is no pressure to conform to either side. The other, which I am reviewing today, promotes a healthier energy formula. So enough background info and onto the review!

Smart Power Energy Drink Review: Taste
To tell you the truth when I got my sample of Smart Power I was not expecting it to be a low carb / diet energy drink as the can looks like a normal energy drink. However, upon receiving the 16 ounce sample I noticed that the drink is sugar free and only has only 10 total calories and zero carbs. The can is appealing and so is the zero carb / sugar free factor, but how does it taste? I would say it has a rather smart taste to it. It has a berry taste with a hint of vanilla which makes for an excellent tasting energy drink when blended together. By far one of the best tasting I have had the opportunity to do a review on in awhile. I also give them props for having a rather unique taste. Good job on the taste guys! Taste Rating 9.0

Smart Power Energy Drink Review: Kick
What't this unique energy blend that I keep hearing about you might ask? The one that takes away the negative effects of caffeine. Well I would try explaining it to you but the detail they go into on the site is pretty intense. So if you want to know more about their unique formula you should just visit the site. Otherwise you will just have to take my word that Smart Power delivers a great "jitter free" kick without a crash. The ingredients used are 180 milligrams of caffeine, Taurine, B-Vitamins, Yerba Mate and 500 milligrams of ginseng. A lot of ingredients right?Maybe so, but however they blend them seems to work as it supplied me with a nice sustained kick that I enjoyed for several hours. Oh yeah, and did I mention no crash. 9.1

Smart Power Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
I like the fact that a positive spin is being used to market these drinks. This company seems to be looking out for your health and your energy levels. The kick was fabulous and the taste was very original. I can't wait to try the Nuclear Waste version! The only bad thing is that I think they are only available online or in the San Francisco Bay area. Hopefully they can speed up their distribution so everyone can get a chance to try this great beverage! Final Judgment - 9.1

Wired Diet Berry Energy Drink Review

Wired Energy Drink - Diet Berry
Cost: $2.00 - Case for $48.00 Shipped
Cost Per Ounce:$0.13
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating:8.2
Kick Rating:8.4
Final Judgment Rating:8.3
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Wired Diet Berry Energy Drink Review
Since the last three Wired Energy Drinks I reviewed were very appealing in the taste and kick categories I decided to do another review right away. That and they have 15 different flavors that I have to do reviews on! Today I will review the Wired Diet Berry Energy Drink which is available in 16 ounce cans. I really enjoyed their last diet energy drink, Wired Low Carb, so I am looking forward to the Diet Berry version as well.

Wired Diet Berry Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well the name on the can says it all. It has a very distinct berry taste combined with a bit of carbonation. You can not taste any of the energy ingredients, so no there is no medicinal aftertaste. However, you can tell that it is a diet drink as artificial sweeteners are used (sucralose). But since it says "diet" right on the can I was not expecting a super sweet drink. That being said, even though you can tell it is diet, the berry flavor is still really pleasing and has a pretty good taste. Taste Rating - 8.2 (very good diet drink)

Wired Diet Berry Energy Drink Review: Kick
This 16 ounce diet energy drink contains 94 milligrams of caffeine, taurine and a host of B-Vitamins. Now as I have stated in the other Wired energy drink reviews, 94 milligrams of caffeine is not a lot for today's typical energy drink but by combining this caffeine with the other energy ingredients (taurine, b-vitamins) you still get a very nice kick. Besides if you want a ton of caffeine in your drink Wired has plenty of options to choose from. Check out the Wired X-505, it has 505 milligrams of caffeine in 23.5 ounces. Anyways the Diet Berry still gives a good kick without any sugar induced crash. Kick Rating - 8.4

Wired Diet Berry Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Yet another strong addition to the Wired Lineup. Good berry flavor and a good kick without the crash and without the calories. With only 10 calories in 16 ounces, you get the energy you need without the calories. Add that to the fact that you can get a case of these shipped for $48.00 and you have yourself a pretty good diet energy drink. Final Judgment 8.3

Wired Low Carb Energy Drink Review
Well this is not the first Wired Energy Drink that I have reviewed (it's the second) and it won't be the last. Wired has a very extensive product line available in over 15 different flavors / varieties. They also have 8.4 ounce, 16 ounce and 24 ounce cans available (I think they even have a liter available - 32 ounces?). This is by far the most exstensive energy drink product line that I have ever encountered. So yeah I am already giving Wired props for this. Why wouldn't I? Well for today's Energy Drink Review I am going to try the 16 Ounce Wired Low Carb energy drink. It has a pretty cool can. I'm not going to describe it too you, just look at the picture on the right. Other than that I don't have anything to add to the introduction. Oh wait, besides the fact that this will be the 100th energy drink that I have reviewed. So give me a nice round of applause. I mean it start freaking clapping.

Wired Low Carb Energy Drink Review: Taste
This is the first lwo carb drink from Wired that I have tried, but it is not the first low carb drink that I have ever tried. The majority of low carb / low calorie drinks I have tried have a weird aftertaste (few exceptions) usually from the sweetners. Well this doesn't seem to be the case with the low carb Wired energy drink. It does use sweetners (sucralose), but the forumula tastes much better IMHO than the likes of Rockstar Sugar Free. The taste is somewhat hard to pinpoint but it seems to have somewhat of a citrus flavor to it. I guess you will just have to take my advice that it tastes good for a low carb energy drink. Taste Rating 8.5.

Wired Low Carb Energy Drink Review: Kick
We have established that this is a good tasting diet / low carb drink. But how does it hold up in the kick category? Well it definitely gave me a good kick. Not exactly sure how much caffeine is in the drink but Wired is known for packing a nice punch in their drinks from caffeine, taurine and b-vitamins.
The Low Carb Version contains a nice amount of all three while keeping the calories to 10 for 16 ounces. The lack of sugar did not seem to hinder the energy delivery like normal sugar-free energy drinks. It only took about 20 minutes before I felt my blood starting to flow faster. No jitters or no crash associated with this bad boy. Kick Rating - A healthy 8.8

Wired Low Carb Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Well it had been awhile since I had a product from Wired, but after trying their low carb energy drink I might have to bump up some of their other products for faster review. Overal this beverage has a good taste for a diet / low carb energy beverage and it also gives a pretty good kick as well. Check back later for some of the other 15 reviews of the Wired lineup. Final Judgment - 8.7!

XS Energy - Tropical Blast(caffeine free)

XS Energy Drink
Cost: $1.99
Cost Per Ounce:$0.25
Active Ingredients:B-Vitamins, Folic Acid
Taste Rating:8.7
Kick Rating:7.0
Final Judgment Rating:7.5
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

XS Energy - Tropical Blast(caffeine free)
Well this would be the second XS Energy Drink that I have reviewed that has no caffeine. The first one was the Cranberry Grape Blast which was not too bad. The kick was not comparable to one of the Strongest Energy Drinks but it was not too bad. Since I was quite pleased with the results of the last caffeine free XS, I thought I would also give the XS Tropical Blast Caffeine Free energy drink a try. The consensus remains the same so far among the drinks, they are all sugar free, low carb and have very few calories. The tropical blast only has 8 calories (8.4 ounces). Enough fluff and onto the review.

XS Energy - Tropical Blast(caffeine free) Review: Taste
Well usually the XS Energy Drinks flavor is basically what it says on the can. So if it says it taste like cranberry grape, it does. However, with the Tropical Blast the name is a little ambiguous. However, pinpointing the flavor was not. It basically tastes like Hawaiian Punch. I have not had that since I was a kid, but the flavor brings back wonderful memories. Whatever, it tastes good. Taste Rating - 8.7

XS Energy - Tropical Blast(caffeine free) Review: Kick
Well since this drink has no caffeine, the Energy Drink ingredients basically come from B-Vitamins which is not too bad if you are not a big caffeine nut. Here are the percentage daily allowances of the various B-Vitamins in this drink: B-12 4900%, B-6 300%, B-5 100%, B-3 100%. You won't feel the instant rush like you do with most caffeine energy drinks but you will feel a nice boost in energy. You also won't have the crash usually associated with caffeine laden energy drinks. All in all this is a good alternative to get energy if you are sensitive to caffeine. Kick Rating - 7.0

XS Energy - Tropical Blast(caffeine free) Review: Final Judgment
The kick is not the greatest but the taste rocks. Still yet to be disappointed by XS! Final Judgment - 7.5

XS Energy - Electric Lemon Blast Drink Review

XS Energy Drink - Electic Lemon Blast
Cost: $1.99
Cost Per Ounce:$0.25
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, B-Vitamins, Ginseng
Taste Rating:8.4
Kick Rating:8.8
Final Judgment Rating:8.6
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

XS Energy - Electric Lemon Blast Drink Review
Well I have reviewed several of the XS Energy Drinks so far. They have quite a variety of flavors to choose from that are all low carb and sugar free. Some of these flavors are Cherry Blast, Cola Blast, Cranberry Grape and Tea Berry Blast. Well today I am going to tackle the Electric Lemon Blast from XS. This is one of the higher calories drinks from XS. It has 16 calories opposed to the others having around 8. What a travesty right? Just kidding, 16 calories for a 8.4 ounce Energy Drink is not too shabby, especially when you consider that some have in excess of 300 calories! Enough fluff and onto the XS Energy Electric Lemon Blast Review!

XS Energy - Electric Lemon Blast Drink Review: Taste
Well first off if you have ever had a artificially sweetened lemonade, you would immediately recognize the flavor - Strong and Tangy! Yes it has a very strong lemon taste to it. But hey, the flavor is labeled pretty clearly on the container so I guess they hit the nail right on the head. Sometimes when artificial sweeteners (acesulfame potassium & sucralose) are used the flavor is affected. Not the case here or in general for XS energy Drinks. Good solid lemon taste. Taste Rating - 8.4

XS Energy - Electric Lemon Blast Drink Review: Kick
Electric Lemon Blast contains caffeine (not sure how much), taurine, ginseng and tons of B-Vitamins which ends up providing a decent kick. Nothing to brag about but quite sufficient for about 3 hours. The lack of sugar might slow down the delivery of the kick, but at least you wont get the crash associated with many high sugar energy drinks. Overall not too bad in the kick category. 8.8

XS Energy - Electric Lemon Blast Review: Final Judgment
XS has a variety of flavors that have so far been pleasant to consume. The Electric Lemon Blast performs well in both the taste and kick categories. The fact that the drinks are all low carb, low calorie and sugar free also helps XS score high marks. Still yet to be disappointed! Final Judgment - 8.6

XS Energy - Cherry Blast Energy Drink Review
Well I have been on a roll reviewing the variety of XS Energy Drinks so I thought I would try another one today. Today's drink is the XS Cherry Blast. Everything is basically the same as the past XS beverages that I have reviewed. XS Cherry Blast is 8.4 ounces, costs about $1.99 and has 0 carbs, 0 sugar, and only eight calories. Onto the review of the XS Cherry Blast Energy Drink!

XS Energy - Cherry Blast Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well since it has limited calories you know that they had to use artificial sweeteners (acesulfame potassium & sucralose). Sometimes this affects the overall taste of the drink but XS did a nice job here. The light cherry flavor does an exceptional job of hiding the sweeteners. Other than that there is not much to say on the taste, it's cherry flavored! Taste Rating - 8.8

XS Energy - Cherry Blast Energy Drink Review: Kick
Yesterday I reviewed a Caffeine Free Energy Drink that did not quite do it for me. Luckily for me the XS Energy Drink Cherry blast has caffeine in it long with Taurine, Ginseng and tons of B-Vitamins. So the kick is similar to all the other XS beverages that I have reviewed. It is not outstanding but it is definitely noticeable and is good for about 3 hours. The lack of sugar might make the delivery a little slower on this one but I was not positive. Either way it has a decent kick. Kick Rating - 8.8

XS Energy - Cherry Blast Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Another well done beverage from XS. I have yet to be disappointed by them and the Cherry Blast is no exception. Good clean crisp taste, low calories, low carbs, no sugar and a decent kick. Would be a nice drink to get you going in the morning or before a workout. Just remember if you consume an energy drink before any physical activity make sure you offset it with a good amount of water! Final Judgment 8.8!

XS Energy - Cranberry Grape Blast (Caffeine Free)

Caffeine Free XS Energy - Cranberry Grape

Cost: $1.99
Cost Per Ounce:$0.25
Active Ingredients:B-Vitamins, Taurine
Taste Rating:8.6
Kick Rating:7.0
Final Judgment Rating:7.5
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

XS Energy - Cranberry Grape Blast (Caffeine Free)
So far I have been impressed with the XS Energy Drink line. Last month I was able to review the Cola Blast and the Tea Berry Blast flavors. There has been one consensus so far among the drinks, they are all sugar free, low carb and have very few calories. Well today I will review the Cranberry Grape Blast energy drink. The only difference between this and the others I have reviewed so far is that this one has no caffeine. The XS Cranberry Grape comes still comes in a sleek 8.4 ounce can, has no sugar, zero carbs and only has 8 calories. Let's see how it fairs in the review.

XS Energy - Cranberry Grape Blast (Caffeine Free): Taste
Well as it was with the other XS beverages that I have reviewed, the name on the can basically states what kind of flavor you are going to get. You get a lightly carbonated cranberry grape flavor. The grape flavor seems to be more prevalent than the cranberry. Since there is no sugar XS uses artificial sweeteners (acesulfame potassium & sucralose). In my opinion this does not affect the taste very much at all. As far as affecting your health I will leave that up to the medical field. Overall the cranberry grape flavored XS is a great tasting drink - Taste Rating - 8.6

XS Energy - Cranberry Grape Blast (Caffeine Free): Kick
As I stated in the intro, this drink has no caffeine. Why is it still an energy drink then? It still has Taurine (though I am not sure how much) and Plenty of B-Vitamins. Here are the the percentage daily allowances of the various B-Vitamins in this drink: B-12 4900%, B-6 300%, B-5 100%, B-3 100%. So basically the energy derived from this drink seems to come from B-Vitamins which is not bad if you are not a big caffeine nut. However, the absence of caffeine made the comparison of this drink to others a little harder. It does not give off as good as a kick as the other XS drinks (or other caffeine energy drinks in general). However, this drink becomes a viable alternative for those looking for energy drinks without caffeine. It also becomes a viable alternative for those looking for a natural boost before working out. Regardless the kick was less than what I am used to. Kick Rating 7.0

XS Energy - Cranberry Grape Blast (Caffeine Free): Final Judgment
The kick is not that great as there is no caffeine but the taste is pretty good. If you are looking for a pick me up or a nice little kick without caffeine I recommend you give this one a try. Final Judgment - 7.5

XS Energy Drink Review - Tea Berry Blast

Tea Berry Blast from XS
Cost: $1.99
Cost Per Ounce:$0.25
Active Ingredients:Green & Black Tea extract (caffeine??), Ginseng, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating:8.8
Kick Rating:8.7
Final Judgment Rating:8.8
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

XS Energy Drink Review - Tea Berry Blast
As I stated on Sunday I was fortunate enough to receive a variety of the XS Energy Drinks. On Sunday I reviewed the 1st one, the XS Energy Drink - Cola Blast and I was more than happy with the results. In fact I was so happy I decided to give the XS Energy Drink - Tea Berry Blast a try earlier than I had originally planned. Instead of doing the review later in the week I thought today would be a good day to review the Tea Berry Blast drink.

XS Energy Drink Review - Tea Berry Blast: Taste
Tea Berry blast is not carbonated, only contains 12 calories and has one gram of carbs as it uses artificial sweeteners (acesulfame potassium & sucralose). Two of the main ingredients are green tea extract and black tea extract. As I have stated in other reviews, I am usually not fond of tea based drinks, but I have grown an acquired taste for them. Well the XS Tea Berry Blast was no exception. This has a very light green tea flavor with a nice base of raspberry flavoring. This combination made for a very refreshing flavor. I was actually disappointed when the 8.4 ounce was gone. I wish they made this in a larger can, the flavor was that refreshing and had no medicinal after taste at all. Taste Rating = 8.8!

XS Energy Drink Review - Tea Berry Blast: Kick
Well the main energy ingredients seem to come from the B-Vitamins and the Green Tea and Black Tea extract. There is also some Ginseng listed on the ingredient list as well. The can itself recommends against the consumption of this beverage if you are sensitive to caffeine. However, I do not see caffeine listed anywhere on the ingredient list? So is there caffeine in this drink, does it come from the Green & Black tea extract? I have no idea. The kick I received was pretty good. No sugar, no jitters. The delivery of the energy seemed a little slower, probably because of the lack of sugar, but overall the drink accomplished what it was supposed to! Kick Rating 8.7!

XS Energy Drink Review - Tea Berry Blast: Final Judgment
Well my only complaint for this drink seems to be that it is only 8.4 ounces. The taste is very refreshing and goes down smooth. The kick, although not outstanding is very pleasing! Combine that with the fact that it only has 12 calories and 1 carb and you have yourself a pretty well done energy drink. Kudos to XS. Final Judgment - 8.8!

Buy Nos Energy Drink Here

Nos Sugar Free Energy Drink Review
Well this morning I needed a little pick me up so I ran down to the gas station and picked up a 16 ounce NOS Sugar Free Energy Drink. I had reviewed the original NOS Energy Drink a long time ago so I was not exactly sure what I was getting myself into. However, since it was early I did not want to cram alot of sugar into my body, and since the Sugar Free Nos energy drink was my only choice in this category, I went with it. Onto the review!

Nos Sugar Free Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well having no sugar and no carbs is a great way to usually hamper the orignal forumula. A lot of the times when they use artificial sweetners the original formula gets changed. In the case of NOS Energy Drink this would not be a bad idea. I was not too keen on the original citrus flavor as it left a weird aftertaste in my mouth. Well the NOS Sugar free is no different. It has a passion fruit flavor with a bit of tang, and a side of medicinal aftertaste. Overall I was not too impressed with the taste. This one gets a mediocre 6.0 - at least it is sugar free.

Nos Sugar Free Energy Drink Review: Kick
The kick was not too bad. It has the normal energy ingredients, taurine, caffeine and B-Vitamins but it is sugar free so the energy delivery seemed slightly slower than the original. There was enough kick to get me going in the morning; however, after drinking the 16 ounce Sugar Free NOS, I was less than impressed. Kick Rating is a mediocre 7.4

Nos Sugar Free Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Well the only thing that this beverage seems to have going for them is the fact that it is sugar free. So you don't have to consume 200 + calories to get a decent amount of energy. Besides that the taste was not that great and the kick was rather mediocre. In my opinion, there are much better sugar free energy drinks out there. Why don't you give them a try. Final Judgment - 6.5

XS Energy Drink Review - Cola Blast

XS Energy Drink - Cola Blast
Cost:$1.99
Cost Per Ounce:$0.25
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, taurine, B-vitamins
Taste Rating:8.8
Kick Rating:8.7
Final Judgment Rating:8.8
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

XS Energy Drink Review - Cola Blast
Well it has been awhile since I tried an XS Energy Drink so I was pretty fortunate when I was sent a complimentarty case containing a variety of their flavors. The first one I will try is the 8.4 ounce XS Cola Blast energy drink which retails for $1.99. With no sugar, no carbs and only 8 calories I was more than excited to review the Cola Blast.

XS Energy Drink Review - Cola Blast: Taste
Well the name of the XS Cola Blast energy drink stays pretty much right on track with how it tastes. Having only 8 calories and using artificial sweeteners (acesulfame potassium & sucralose), the drink tastes pretty much like a diet cola. If I had to put my finger on a brand that it tasted like I would have to say that it was pretty close to a diet Pepsi. The drink is lightly carbonated so that helps out this cola flavored beverage as well. I enjoyed it so I will give it a good taste rating. Taste Rating - 8.8

XS Energy Drink Review - Cola Blast: Kick
Well the XS Cola Blast has roughly 9.88 milligrams per ounce of caffeine, or around 80 milligrams total of caffeine. This puts it in line with Red Bull in terms of caffeine. XS also contains taurine, plenty of B-Vitamins, and Ginseng. The combination of these ingredients gave off a pretty good kick. I was not bouncing off walls after finishing it, but I was definitely more motivated. The kick was delayed slightly, probably because of the lack of sugar, but since their was no sugar their was no crash or no jitters. XS Cola Blast delivered smooth, jitter free energy, for that it gets a pleasing kick rating of 8.7.

XS Energy Drink Review - Cola Blast: Final Judgment
I like the fact that the entire line up of XS beverages is sugar free and has no carbs. They also have a wide variety of flavors. Cola Blast was enjoyable, gave off a clean kick and tasted like a diet Pepsi. So if you are looking for a little
more zing in your life, and you regularly drink some kind of diet cola you should give this beverage a chance. Final Judgment - 8.8!

Kronik Low Carb Energy Drink

Kronik Low Carb Energy Drink
Cost:$1.99 - 16 Ounces
Cost Per Ounce:$0.12
Active Ingredients:Taurine, Guarana, Ginseng, Caffeine
Taste Rating:8.0
Kick Rating:8.1
Final Judgment Rating:8.3
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Kronik Low Carb Energy Drink Review
Well I reviewed the Original Kronik Energy Drink in early February and I was pretty pleased all around in the taste and kick categories. My main beef with the original was that it had 280 calories. Well today I will try the Kronik Low Carb Energy Drink. It has only 20 calories in a 16 ounce can. Lets see how it holds up.

Kronik Low Carb Energy Drink Review: Taste
The same pungent smell was present in the Kronik low carb version as it was in the original. Along with the rather unique smell comes the somewhat passion fruit flavor. The low carb version does not have the sugar like the original so the passion fruit flavor is not quite as sweet, but it is still pretty good. I don't know about you, but I am willing to sacrifice 260 calories for a drink that taste almost identical to the original. Taste Rating - 8.0

Kronik Low Carb Energy Drink Review: Kick
Taurine seems to be the main ingredient here. With 2000 milligrams of Taurine, some Guarana extract and some caffeine, you get a pretty decent kick. The energy delivery seems to be a little slower with out the sugar, but this is usually the case with sugar free or artificially sweetened energy drinks. Overall the kick was just as good as the original, with the exception of the delivery time. It lasted just as long and gave me no jitters. Kick Rating - 8.1

Kronik Low Carb Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
For a low carb / low calorie drink it was pretty good. If you like the original you should like the low carb / diet version as it delivers the same kick with about 260 calories less. Since that was my biggest beef with the original I will give the low carb version a boost in the final judgment because I can. Final Judgment - 8.3

Dare Devil Lighter Fluid Energy Drink Review

Dare Devil Lighter Fluid

Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, Guarana, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating:9.0
Kick Rating:9.1
Final Judgment Rating:9.2
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Dare Devil Energy Drink Review
Earlier I reviewed the Original Dare Devil Energy Drink and I was more than pleased with both the kick and the taste. Well today I thought that I would give the "Lighter Fluid" Dare Devil Energy Drink a try. "Lighter Fluid" is their version of a diet or low carb energy drink. Well let's see how it fairs.

Purchase Dare Devil Lighter Fluid Here

Dare Devil Lighter Fluid Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well to start off the Lighter Fluid did not completely remove all the sugar. They used artificial sweetners with just a touch of genuine sugar giving the diet / low carb version 20 calories per 16 ounces. This definitely benefits them as the taste is almost identical to that of the oroginal. You really can't taste much of a difference at all. The genuine citrus flavor with a slight tart after taste is still there. Again with almost no difference from the original you can't really tell that you are drinking a diet / low carb energy drink at all. For that I will ump the taste rating a little higher than the original. Taste Rating = 9.0

Dare Devil Lighter FLuid Energy Drink Review: Kick
Basically the Lighter Fluid has less sugar than the original. The 240 milligrams of caffeine, 2000 milligrams of taurine, guarana and a host of B-Vitamins are still present giving Lighter Fluid the same kick as the original. The kick in the pants was still there, but the delivery was a little slower probably because of less sugar content. Not exactly sure, doesn't really matter because overall the kick was still great. Kick Rating - 9.1!

Dare Devil Lighter Fluid Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
I love it when companies put just as much effort into their diet / low carb versions as they do their regular versions. Dare Devil even got a little creative with the blend of sugar and artificial sweetners which definitely payed off. Great Taste -Good Kick - Only 30 calories - Final Judgment 9.2!

BooKoo Citrus Zero Carb Energy Drink Review

BooKoo Citrus Zero Carb
Cost:$2.50
Cost Per Ounce:$0.10
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, B-Vitmains
Taste Rating:8.3
Kick Rating:9.0
Final Judgment Rating:8.8
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

BooKoo Citrus Zero Carb Energy Drink Review
Well I have reviewed several other drinks in the BooKoo Line so I thought it would be more than time to review one of their diet or Zero Carb energy drinks, especially since we live in a carb conscious world. The first one that came into my possession is the rather large, 24 ounce BooKoo Citrus - Zero Carb Energy Drink. Normal energy drinks that are 24 ounces would have well over 300 calories, in fact there are even some 16 ounce versions out there that are over 300 calories. But this Zero Carb BooKoo has no calories. Let's see how the taste and kick are for it!

BooKoo Citrus Zero Carb Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well I have tried the BooKoo Citrus Shot and it did quite well. The 24 ounce BooKoo Citrus zero carb version was also pleasant to consume. The flavor was pretty much the same as the original, even while using sucralose as a artificial sweetener. There was a slight medicinal aftertaste, but it was not really too noticeable. Great Taste for Zero Carbs Zero Calories - 8.3

BooKoo Citrus Zero Carb Energy Drink Review: Kick
Well, this thing is 24 ounces so there is a ton of energy in it. I drank this one during my lunch break and for the next hour after that. It is a lot to consume at one sitting, but spanning the consumption out over an hour is not too bad. The original formula has 360 mg of caffeine in it. Yeah that is quite a bit. I could not find info on the amount in the zero carb version, but the taste is pretty much the same so I am assuming that it also has the same caffeine content. F.Y.I - A normal energy drink usually has about 80mg of caffeine in it. Funny thing is I had no crash after drinking this. This probably has to do with the fact that they used artificial sweetener in place of sugar. Great Kick - 9.0

BooKoo Citrus Zero Carb Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Big Can = Big Kick and pretty big citrus taste. At $2.50 it is not a bad deal either. Just be careful if you are not used to this much caffeine, it is quite a lot. It would be nice if they offered this flavor in a 16 ounce version as well or if they offered it in a resealable bottle. They do offer a 16 ounce zero carb in Wild Berry if you are looking for a little less bulk. Overall it has pretty good taste, huge kick and a pretty good value. Final Judgment - 8.8

Rock Star Sugar Free Energy Drink Review

Cost: $1.99
Cost Per Ounce:$0.13
Active Ingredients:caffeine, b-vitamins
Taste Rating: 8.2
Kick Rating: 8.4
Final Judgment Rating: 8.6
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Rock Star Sugar Free Energy Drink Review
Well I reviewed the original Rock Star Energy Drink some time ago back in May of 2006. I figured I might as well give the Diet Rock Star Sugar Free Version a try. I definitely liked the original, so I was hoping that they did not mess with the flavor too much. Well before the review I actually had to go out and purchase one, which is not hard because Rock Star Sugar Free is available everywhere. The only decision I had was whether to get it in the 8.4, 16, or 24 ounce version. Well I went with the 16 ounce version as that is the same size as the original I reviewed.

Rock Star Sugar Free Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well the Diet or Sugar Free RockStar Energy drink uses artificial sweeteners. This could be both bad or good. It's good because it means there is no sugar. No sugar means low carbs and lower calories. It's bad if the artificial sweetener used tastes like crap. Fortunately for Rock Star, the sweetener they used does not affect the taste of the beverage. The diet, or sugar free version does taste a little more tart than the original, but all in all it is a pretty similar formula to the original. It just has a little bit more of a medicinal aftertaste than the
original. Taste Rating = 8.2

Rock Star Sugar Free Energy Drink Review: Kick
Since the sugar was removed from this beverage, it seems the delivery of the energy has also slowed down a bit. However, the diet version has more caffeine than the original which definitely makes up for the slow delivery. The 16 ounce version has about 240 mg of caffeine in it. Combine that with a big scoop of taurine and you get a pretty good kick which actually feels better and lasts longer than the riginal. Kick rating = 8.6.

Rock Star Sugar Free Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Well sugar free energy drinks are becoming quite popular. The Diet Rockstar falls into this category and does an excellent job as well. Decent taste, better than average kick and a competitive price. Combine this with the fact that you can get it everywhere, in almost any size (remember it comes in the 8.4, 16 and 24 ounce versions) and purchase it in bulk to save some money and we have ourselves a good diet energy drink. My final judgment is an above average 8.4!

Diet Ronin Energy Drink Review

Diet Ronin Energy Drink
Cost: $1.65 - $1.99
Cost Per Ounce:$0.10 - $0.12
Active Ingredients: Caffeine, Taurine, B-Vitamins,
Ginseng, Green Tea Extract
Taste Rating:8.7
Kick Rating:9.0
Final Judgment Rating:8.8
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Diet Ronin Energy Drink Review
Well I reviewed the Original Ronin Energy Drink last month and I was quite pleased. The only complaint I had was that I wished it had fewer calories. So when I had the opportunity to pick up the Diet Ronin Energy Drink I did. With only 15 calories in 16 ounces and basically the same ingredients I was pumped to give it a try. Here is what I think of Diet Ronin.

Official Ronin Website

Diet Ronin Energy Drink Review: Taste
It seems the only trade off from the original is the fact the diet version has fewer calories. I thought they would use artificial flavoring to cut calories but after looking at the can it turns out they don't. After reviewing their website I can confirm that they don't use artificial flavors or colors and they also do not use preservatives or high fructose corn syrup. So the Diet Ronin Energy Drink is still all natural and it still contains one full serving of fruits and vegetables. I don't know how they magically erased all the calories (less sugar?) but the end result is pretty good. The taste is still very similar to the original citrus blend, although there is a small medicinal aftertaste present. This can be expected because there are only 15 calories in the drink and they are not using any artificial flavors, which would make it hard to mask the energy ingredients. All that said this is a very good diet energy drink. I will give it a firm taste rating of 8.5 - which is slightly lower than the 8.7 I gave the original.

Diet Ronin Energy Drink Review: Kick
The energy formula did not seem to change from the diet to original version so I was more than ready to receive a healthy dose of energy. I was not disappointed in the kick category. I received a nice kick from Ronin that was sustained for quite awhile. The delivery felt a little slower than the original but maybe this is from the lack of sugar? On top of this I got one serving of fruits and vegetable from drinking diet Ronin. All in all its a great kick so I will give it the same kick rating as the original Ronin 9.0.

Diet Ronin Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
The taste is pretty close to the original and the kick is just as good. With only 15 calories and a helping of fruits and vegetables, this all natural diet energy drink is worth a try. Nothing much else to say - Final Judgment 8.8!

Taste Rating:8.7
Kick Rating: 8.5
Final Judgment Rating:8.7
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Low Carb Monster Energy Drink Review
Well I reviewed the original Monster Energy Drink some time ago, so this morning I thought I would try the Low Carb Monster Energy Drink. The main difference between the original and low carb versions seems to be sugar content. The Low Carb Monster Energy Drink has very little, thus keeping the calorie count to 10. So with only 10 calories and a small amount of sugar, how will the Low Carb Monster Energy Drink compare to the original? Well let's find out in the review.

Or take a look at the other reviews from Monster
Monster Hitman - Energy Shooter
Khaos
M-80
Assault
Monster Energy Drink - Original

Update: Buy Monster Energy Drinks in Bulk Here

Low Carb Monster Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well by taking out the sugar the drink becomes less sweet, in turn affecting how it tastes. By taking out the majority of the sugar in the Lo-Carb Monster Energy Drink, I think the formula might have actually been improved as now the citrus flavor is not quite as sweet as the original. Basically it has less of a bite than the original. There is still a slight medicinal aftertaste to the beverage, but it is no stronger than the one present in the original. Taste Rating - 8.7

Low Carb Monster Energy Drink Review: Kick
The original can pack a pretty decent punch and the Low Carb version is no different. The combination of caffeine, ginseng, guarana and B-Vitamins in a 16 ounce can delivers a good kick. The only difference between the original and lo-carb version is that the energy effects took awhile to kick in (probably because of the reduced sugar). 8.5 Kick Rating - slightly lower than the original because of the extra wait for energy.

Low Carb Monster Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Basically quite comparable to the original. It has less calories and less sugar making what I feel is an improved taste. The kick is still good, it just takes awhile to develop. Wish I would have gave the lo-carb version a try earlier. Don't be like me, give this 16 ounce blue monster a try. You might like it! Final Judgment - 8.7

Lemon Lime 5 Hour Energy Drink Review

Cost: $2.49 for 2 ounces
Cost Per Ounce: $1.25
Active Ingredients: Caffeine (mainly), B6, B12,
Taurine
Taste Rating: 9.0
Kick Rating: 9.5
Final Judgment Rating: 9.6 - The Energy is Worth IT!
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

5 Hour Energy Drink - Lemon Lime Review
I stated in my review of the original 5 Hour Energy Drink, that these guys had an outstanding kick for a little 2 ounce energy shot. The only thing that they needed to work on was the fact that there was a slight medicinal aftertaste to the shot and that you had to give it a thorough shake before consuming. Even with those taste issues, the wild berry shot from Chaser was more than worth it. Well turns out they have unleashed a new lemon lime flavor! So get ready for the new 5 Hour Energy Drink lemon lime flavor because here comes the review!

5 Hour Energy Drink - Lemon Lime Review: Taste
As I stated above, the taste of the original berry flavor was not going to win any taste awards but it was still worth every penny. However, there is a vast improvement with the new lemon lime flavored Five Hour Energy Drink. The new lemon lime has a slight tart flavor but still managed to be quite sweet, kind of like home made lemonaide that has a stronger lemon taste than the store bought kind. Overall the Five Hour Lemon Lime Energy Drink will get an improved taste rating of 9.0. Well done with the new flavor!

5 Hour Energy Drink - Lemon Lime Review: Kick
Well the taste is better than the original berry flavor and it turns out they did not tamper with the energy formula for the new 5 Hour Lemon Lime either. The original Berry flavored beverage made it into my Top 10 Energy Drinks article and it also made #1 in my article of the Strongest Energy Drinks. Since they did not mess with the formula at all, the new lemon lime flavored 5 Hour Energy is also still one of the strongest drinks I have tried. You get all that punch packaged into a tiny 2 ounce shot. I will give the new lemon lime flavor the same score as I gave the original berry flavored beverage, a huge 9.5 - so get ready for that five hours of rush!

Chaser 5 Hour Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
The taste was improved and they did not tamper with the extremely strong energy formula. As I have stated several times through out this blog, the Five Hour Energy Drink remains my favorite. The addition of the new flavor only bolsters this feeling. If you want to buy the original berry flavor, or if you want to try out the new lemon lime flavor you can Buy It Here!To top it all off the price has been lowered! Final judgment a 9.6 - Still Worth It.

Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Go Fast Light Energy Drink Review
Well I did the original Go Fast Energy Review a couple of weeks ago and I stated that I could not wait until I got my hands on the Go Fast Light version of this beverage. I also stated that I had high expectations for the light version too. Well I didn't have to wait long to try this beverage as I finally got a hold of the 11.9 ounce 30 calorie light version today.

Go Fast Light Energy Drink Review: Taste
Instead of trying this drink on the way to the gym, I thought I would give it a try on the way to my indoor soccer game. I was happy with the taste of the original and was excited to try Go Fast Light. Turns out it stayed very true to the original flavor which had somewhat of a spicy strawberry flavor. The only difference was that you could taste a hint of honey which actually was quite pleasant. Even with the 30 calorie light version there was no medicinal aftertaste present. I would have to say that this is probably one of the best tasting light (low calorie / low carbohydrate) energy drinks that I have ever tried. And for that I will give it a taste rating of 9.0 (same as the original).

Go Fast Light Energy Drink Review: Kick
Well we have established that Go Fast Light tastes just as good as the original, but will it give the same kick? Well with the same combination of ingredients as the original version (Guarana, Taurine, Ginseng, Ginko Biloba, B-Vitamins and a host of other energy producing ingredients) Go Fast Light is far from disappointing in the kick category. I was more than pumped up through all 45 minutes of my indoor soccer game. Even after the game I had tons of energy to spare. Again, just like the original version, Go Fast Light delivers a long, smooth and jitter free burst of energy so I will give it an exceptional kick rating of 9.2!

Go Fast Light Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
No disappointments here whatsoever. It tasted great, especially with the hint of honey, it gives a great jitter free kick and it can be had for about $2.00 a can. Combine this with the fact that it has only 30 calories and you have pretty much the perfect athletic / sports energy drink. As I stated before, this is pretty much my favorite low calorie / low carb energy beverage. And for that I will give it a final judgment rating of 9.1.
