Energy Drink Ratings Explained
Steaz Energy Drink Review
Well here is another first on the Energy Drink Ratings website. Steaz is the very first USDA certified Organic Energy Drink to be reviewed here. I know what some of you are thinking. An Organic Energy Drink, that should taste real good. Well I couldn't help but give the 12 ounce Steaz Energy Drink a try as it is the first organic energy beverage, meaning it contains all natural ingredients and it has plenty of Acai fruit which is a natural anti-oxidant. Enough fluff and onto the review!
Steaz Energy Drink Review: Taste
My first thoughts were that this might not be the most pleasant tasting energy beverage that I had tried because it was organic and because it came in a green can which made me think that I was going to be tasting nothing but green tea. Well I was wrong because upon further review of the can I noticed that I was going to be treated to a berry flavor. Well, they did not lie. The slightly carbonated Steaz energy drink had a pleasantly sweet berry flavor with just a hint of green tea. The combination of these flavors along with the slight carbonation made for quite a refreshing energy beverage! Steaz deserves a refreshing 8.6 for a taste rating!
Steaz Energy Drink Review: Kick
Well the taste was quite refreshing and so was the kick. The combination of the organic green tea and the organic guarana extract made for a surprising kick. If you combine the pleasant kick with the fact that it contains acai fruit which is high in antioxidant benefits and you not only receive a pleasant kick, you get it completely jitter free! While not being in the upper echelon in the kick category, Steaz provides more than enough energy to keep you going and would make for a great drink on a hot day! 7.8 for a Kick Rating
Steaz Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
The first organic energy beverage to be reviewed here was quite well. It has a great refreshing taste and provides ample energy to keep you moving. This just goes to show that having all natural ingredients can still give you a great energy beverage. Final judgment is a 8.6 for being first to be all organic!

I just tried Steaz and it is my new favorite - 12 ounces and only 90 calories! Being fair trade and organic makes me feel even better about it. Here it costs $1.99/ can. It turns my whole night around after a tiring day.I got mine on sale for 1.69 and am ready to stock up on the stuff. (I also like Bawls & Blue Sky Energy - in a pinch I may grab a Red Bull when a convenience store is the only game in town.)
I just had a Steaz for the first time a few days ago. I was impressed. It tasted really good which I wasn't expecting being that it's all natural. I looked at their website and they're up to a bunch of cool stuff. They just sponsored a biodiesel racing team and they do disaster relief work in Sri Lanka. I like that they're Fair Trade and Organic, and because they're healthy I don't feel so bad having them with vodka. Vodka RedBull was my favorite cocktail but I feel guilty ordering it now because I've heard such bad stuff about it. I really like Steaz and hopefully Bars will start serving it soon so I can order that instead. I definitely recommend you all try one.
wish they made a sugar free.
Steaz is good stuff. And hopefully it is atleast a slightly healthier alternative to the occasional original Monster or Red Bull I drink. I find Steaz to be good tasting and has an average to decent "kick" to it. Yup, it's usually around $2.00 a can. Hopefully more places will start carrying it.
Great Stuff the packaging is even cool. I like some other Energy drinks; but let's face it when someone comes into your office and there is a can of Monster or Rockstar etc on your desk you might as well be Carrot Top.
They now have Diet Steaz Energy Drink, which has less sugar, and does not use fake sweeteners like sucralose like so many 'diet' alternatives.
It tastes great, has way fewer calories, and is one of the more healthy ways to get energy.
Go Steaz!
The best energy drink ever!!!! I have tried many, and so have my friends, and now, we're all drinking Steaz. The energy is amazing, and the taste is great!!
DISGUSTING! UGG! DID NOTHING FOR ME! IT COSTS ALMOST $3!! CAVIET EMPTOR... BUYER BEWARE!
Let the buyer be aware. This stuff is carbonated cane sugar - liquid candy as the guys from Honest Tea call it. Drink real guayaki, Bombilla Gourd or Honest Tea. Steaz Energy is a diabetics nightmare.
This stuff is sad.
This company acts like they are doing great things. Really, they are just exploiting the organic movement.
This is cane sugar and bubbles marketed like the consumer is doing something good for the planet if they drink it. Want to do something good? Plant a tree or help an old lady cross the street.
And the diet version of this is a watered down diabetics nightmare.
I just saw sambazon has an energy drink. They are a more authentic company with respect to their mission. I look forward to sambazon energy. I do not think steaz has much acai in their energy drink. It would be more purple.
I work at Whole Foods Market so I see the Steaz can a lot. I just bought a 24-pack of this stuff. It works, it's healthy, and it tastes great. Remember, buy it by the case full, it comes out cheaper.
Me too! I was at Whole Foods in Redondo Beach but just transferred to Pittsburgh. I tried the Sambazon Purple can and it is FAN-TAS-TIC!
I'm a Cali girl, so I'm biased, but this blows Steaz out of the h2O! And it is purple, which translates to a significant amount of acai. I'm getting a case this weekend - of Sambazon.
Okay, with all due respect to everyone....Steaz energy really is trying to help people. IT DOES NOT HAVE CANE SUGAR. Read the ingredients. It is evaporated cane juice. BIG difference. Most intelligent people will tell you that evaporated cane juice is a hundred times better for you than regular white refined sugar. And it is better than plain cane suagar as well. This drink has NO artificial sweeteners which give me migraines. And I think it tastes great and gives me a good buzz without the crash. Things like Red Bull and Vitamin water are POISON. Crystalline fructose is metabolized completely in the liver. Think about it. I LOVE THIS STUFF! Way to go Steaz.
I have insulin resistant diabetes and can drink none of these sugars. The are all poison to me. I can drink Diet Red Bull.
Guru could be the drink for you. It doesn't contain all of the sugars and their diet is very good. I purchase it at Whole Foods. Go Guru.
I don't want all of the sugar in my diet. Sugar is sugar is sugar. So, when I need energy I drink real yerba mate and real green tea. And I buy organic and fair trade.Too bad Whole Foods promotes junk food like this.
Diet Steaz may be the worst beverage I've ever tasted. I got about 1/3 of the way through a 8 oz. can and just dumped the rest. I couldn't even get through 8 ounces! It was like someone put club soda in white tea and then farted in it. Awful.
Steaz energy drink is lightly carbonated and sweetened with a great taste. I used to drink red bulls about 3 times a week and realised after a while that they were the cause of my daily headaches. I feel a natural kind of energy from drinking stez not a huge caffeine buzz which is what I like. I'm buying a case of this stuff. ^-^
I'm with you C Stone. I work at a health food store, and we warn our customers that this product is really no different than other energy drinks. We call Steaz Hippy Fart Juice.
At the Whole Foods near my house, they replaced Steaz with a new drink called V&V Energy. It's really, really, really good. One of the workers at Whole Foods told me to try it. He was right. I liked Steaz, but V&V rocks!
I like this product. I'm an emergency health care professional that doesn't drink coffee or any of the original pick me up drinks. For those of you who are talking about the amount of sugar, if you are all as health conscious as you sound, you will burn this sugar off in no time before your liver stores it at fat! But a mixture of Acai, Green Tea and 90% Vitamin C is not a bad combination. For someone like me who is working 24 and 48 hr shifts, this is way better and above the rest on the market.
i love steaz its so refreshing when your tired and working in the hot sun i have steaz alot cuz my dad works as the vice prez of whole foods. some times i have monster and red bull but this is whats going to fill up my fridge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this stuff, it feels healthy, doesn't make you crash and tastes amazing.
LOVE IT LOVE IT. I AM A FLIGHT ATTENDANT WITH CRAZY HOURS AND THIS DRINK IS THE BEST... I DRINK ABOUT 2 A MONTH AND IT IS THE BEST THING EVER.. GREAT TASTE GREAT ENERGY WITHOUT THE CRASH. THOSE WHO SAY BAD THINGS ABOUT THIS DRINK ARE JUST USED TO SMOKIN' CRACK... IT IS THE BEST DRINK EVER.. THANK YOU
These people that say it's healthy or good for you ???? They have NO CREDIBILITY. This product contains almost all sugar, cane sugar sweeteners and still tastes not that good. Its addictive as are all sugars and its pure rot on your liver and internal organs. The people that say it's good for you are NUTS try eating fruits and veggies and get natural sugar from that ..drink pure water...
@seadove...
It's actually 135 calories per 12 ounces... Read your label: Servings per container: 1.5
Other than that, Steaz Energy is tasty. :p
I appreciate different perspectives and points of view. When it comes to reading on health I dont claim to have all the answers or be a nutritionist, but I am fairly well read and have more than one health/nutrition class under my belt, and have a growing library on the topic.Currently I am reading"Natural Cures They dont want you to know about"(and yes I have read some of the authors critics)and "Beating Cancer with nutrition"Regarding the suggestions of using green tea and yerba mate I love all teas herbal included and drink green tea like its going out of style and have tried yerba mate,I can only tell that person I can drink a pot of green tea and go right to sleep.working construction keeping odd hours, trying to summon the energy for the gym in beetween the yerba doesnt cut it.I also know what its like to drive from NJ to tampa florida non-stop,drink coffee occasionally(with that too some will vehemently argue its toxic and prevents the body from absorbing nutrients, others say its anti-oxidant)My point is when I read it seems more and more if you really want to be 100% safe you would need to be a vegan (I was)and eat only organic(I love whole foods but cant always afford their prices)produce, eat it raw or maybee steamed so as not to lose any nutrients, make your own juice, have a good water filtration system installed, dont use any kind of aerosol sprays or non-stick cookware and on and on.Baby steps,if someone goes from a redbull or monster or rockstar energy drink to an organic one it seems like a step in the right direction to me.Greentea is great as an antioxidant, and if your really tired and it wakes YOU up,kudos
