Energy Drink Ratings Explained
Red Bull Energy Drink Review
When it first came out Red Bull Energy Drinks were the coolest thing on the market. They are currently the number one energy beverage on the market, the reason behind this is that they are absolutely everywhere. I have tried them before and I am sure you have too. But just in case you have not tried one of the originals in the energy beverage category, I will share with you my Red Bull Energy Drink Review.
Red Bull Energy Drink Review: Taste
Alright I have been using the Red Bull energy drink as a staple for comparing other drinks. That might not be the best way to do it but almost everybody has had one of these. Well in my opinion there are way better drinks out there than this, Red Bull does not have the best taste. To me it seems like there is a medicinal aftertaste. The sugar free version tastes even worse. On the bright side this drink tastes unbelievable when you mix it with Jägermeister. These Jager-Bombs are just the thing to get you going all night at a party. The Jager-Bomb is a shot of Jägermeister dropped into a glass that is then filled with Red Bull. In my opinion,
one of the greatest inventions of the 21st century! Well unless you count a Reddy (Vodka – Red Bull mix drink). The review for taste gets a moderate 7.5.
Red Bull Drink Review: Kick
Alright the Red Bull Energy drink has an average of 9.64 mg of caffeine per ounce. When it first came out this was quite a bit of caffeine, but when you compare it too today's energy drinks you get the same or more caffeine and it usually comes in 16 ounce cans versus the Red Bull Energy drinks 8 ounce can. Overall it does give a decent kick, I am just saying that for your money you can get more kick. But since it is a decent kick, I will give it a moderate 8.0.
Red Bull Drink Review: Final Judgment
Alright I know that it sounds like I am bashing Red Bull but I am not. It is a great energy beverage but one can only drink so many of them before you figure out that there are better alternatives. It does have a decent kick, the flavor is mediocre, the price sucks (unless you buy in bulk) but I will give it a 9 out of 10 for a final judgment because with out this drink we would not have Bawls, Vaults, or Monster's of the world.

So, it doesn't taste as good, doesn't have as much kick and is more expensive... but it gets a higher overall rating just cause it was first? Thats just not right.
Without the popularity of Red Bull we would probably not have the huge selection of Energy Drinks that are now currently available. So yes, I think being the original energy drink deserves a high overall score.
I think your judgement is seriously whacked. First off, you'd have to drink at least a dozen Red Bulls to get the same kick as just one single serving of Redline. And, contrary to your bias judging, Redline tastes far superior to Red Bull. When you talk about price you have to consider that Redline is reclosable and most people get two to four servings out of one single can of Redline. Further, Redline is the only energy drink on the market that did not knock off the Red Bull ingredient profile. Redline is definitely worth the trip to Vitamin Shoppe or GNC!
Bias judgment? Oh wait, there's that check from Red Bull for $10,000. They were late again this month!
So, I guess, know we all ahve to rate Ford as the best car company just because it was the first? What?! Is this guy getting paid by Red Bull or something...look XS is kicking Red Bull's a** in the streets without using even one-twelvth the adverising. So you look again, busta. Or your "Final Judgement" aint nothing but hype...a perfect match for Red Bull's crap.
Maybe XS should up their advertising so they can compete with Red Bull. XS makes a good drink but is lagging severly in sales.
Red Bull is NASTY. I don't like the taste or the smell AT ALL.
XS is a couple million cans behind Red Bull this year and growing at 70% yearly without advertising...
more flavors
+better for you
+cheaper
= no brainer
my fridge is stocked!
red bull sucks
I haven't been impressed with Red Bull .. and in comparison to price I would rather go to Starbucks and get a triple shot nf caramel machiatto for a better kick and flavor. The diet Red Bull ( which I have only tried twice ) didn't do much for me either and had quite a medicine aftertaste. Do you know why Red Bull is so popular? Thanks to celebs and followers .. HYPE.
XS ? are you kidding me? a couple million cans behind in sales? are you a freaking retard? Red Bull is out selling Coca Cola, Yes Coca Cola in Austria. It also out sells coke & pepsi in NYC. Do some freaking research before you type. Have you ever heard of Neilsen Data, probably not if you have your fridge full of XS. Neilsen measures sales in each us city and your right maybe XS is a few million cans behind in a certain city in maybe the drug store channel of business. Wow, what an idiot.
XS is still far behind red bull but it is number 2 and it is gaining in market share plus has twelve flavors that all taste great and does not cause a crash two hours later. there are alot of great products out there but xs is the best combo of good taste and good for you. Chad
I just picked up a four pack of "Red Rain" not rated on your site yet. It taste's exactly like RedBull, and has the same ingredients, exact same size, I swear it is the exact same product. Only difference. . . a four pack of RedBull was $10.99, a four pack of Red Rain, $3.99!!! That's right, I said $3.99!!!
red bull tastes nasty and doesnt give me much of a kick....the price is also outrageous. i can buy a 12 ounce red bull for the SAME price as a Monster BFC aka (Big FUC*ing Can) yeah its huge 32 ounces.....nuff said
Really Its not that Bad but Come on Why when For the Same Price You can have An M-80 And get double the everything
the over all rating is depending on what people want like taste, kick and such ... giving it an overall of 9 is obviously not an honest review... you arent rating it on originality or who came first.. your rating it for people... giving them a perspective of which is the best. giving it a 9 serves no purpose to readers.
***Person Above***
I don't think you actually read the review. I was not fond of the taste and the kick at best is mediocre. I am rating it on originality and who came first. Although Red Bull might not be the 1st energy drink on the market, it was by far the 1st mainstream. It deserves a 9 beacause without the marketing and mainstream appeal of this drink you would not have any of the much better energy drinks that we have today.
[i am the person above]...but what i meant was that event though it was rated on its taste and stuff the overall is kinda pointless then if ur jsut rating it on originality. its sort of pointless.. people look here for the overall effects and benefits or the not so good stuff about it not whether it was one of the first to branch out others.
^^^
"As to the overall effects or the not so good stuff about"
From Review: "It does have a decent kick, the flavor is mediocre, the price sucks"
Looks like I covered the overall effects.
good, but geez $2.60 per 8 oz. can? unbelievable
Red-Bull may have started the EnergyDrink craze, but there's tons of better ones out there now, believe it or not there's even some healthy ones! Click on my name if you want to checkout one I found.
Red Bull is still number one among consumers....worldwide...whether one likes the taste/energy boost it gives or not.
In 5 years there will only be a handful of energy drinks left on the market....and Red Bull will still be one of them and still be number one.
red bull is weak but it will allways be a classic
Tastes like shit. Kick was average at best. Costs as much as most energy drinks twice the size. I'll never buy this crap again but I had to see if the hype was at all justified... Nope.
Has anyone ever tried Liquid Ice, it has a great taste and Mix's great with flovored liqurs.
I think you are all crazy as s*it.
It's the original, often imitated, not duplicated. Do you ask for an energy drink and vodka at a bar? I didn't think so
RED BULL IS NOT GOOD FOR YOU AT ALL! no matter what is better (i taste or smell) is going to be good for you.
I'm tired of you caffeine spoiled little *happy word* you people always complain about red bull, its the first energy drink i had and its my favorite. i like the taste personally, and compaired to other larger sweeter drinks... its just better, less calories and you can drink it fairly quickly, meaning you get the energy faster.
i think the review is fair, and its most popular because its not as strong as other drinks on the market, allowing people other than teens to drink them and not spaz out and die (my dad drinks them every day)
i drink stacker2 and now full throttle shots i buy at the dollar tree now only cause they're 1$ if you want to complain about flavor drink a full throttle blue agave shot and you'll never complain about red bull again
good review ++
did you review the new red bull energy shots?
Jolt was the first energy drink. Great cola taste, twice the caffine. RedBull tatses like buckleys and rasberries..ewww
i enjoy it only while smoking.
This is very nice and does the job!
Jolt was definitely not the first energy drink. Red Bull is the 1st and it's surprising how many people have tried to mimic Red Bull products and what the Red Bull brand is about. The consumers are loyal, and Red Bull supports them in all their endeavors, whether it be helping Shaun White train for the Olympics or a student needing to ace an exam. The brand is original and the flavor is clean tasting. Doesn't matter what you rate, it's number one in the market and the consumers aren't going anywhere.
it should not be about who came first but about quality depenability. If something is better then one thing then so be it let it go.
Red BULL is BY FAR the BEST tasting Energy Drink out there!! Well in my opinion anyway. Honest to god I would rather buy and drink 2-3 Red Bull 8.3 oz cans than drink any of the other Monster NOS AMP Full throttle etc etc. In fact I honestly gag when I have tried just about all of those. I will say that Red Bull is way way over priced in my opinion. Even when u buy in bulk it's like a $1.69/each. And since u have to drink 2x as much to get the same "kick" as any of the above mentioned, its..... well its god damn expensive! But still nothing compares to the Pure refined taste of Red Bull! (and for the trolls, NO I am not paid by red bull, nor do i work for them in any way, shape, form or fashion.) just my personal opinions.
I eff'n LOVE redbull!!! Got 3, 16.9 oz cans in my fridge now!!
All u red bull haters stfu red bull is way better than monster
REDBULL IS YOUR MASTER!!! BOW BEFORE IT AND GIVE IN TO THE ALL MIGHT POWER!!! AAAARRRRRRGGG!!!
I SLEEP WITH REDBULL UNDER MY PILLOW, I WALK WITH ONE IN MY BACK POCKET JUST INCASE I NEED TO FLY AWAY RIGHT FAST...REDBULL REDBULL REDBULL AHHHHHH!!!! ITS FUCKIN CRAZY@!Q#RT E HY
So, you say it was the original, eh? Well actually the person who created did an almost-exact copy of 'Krating Daeng'.
Look it up and you'll see.
Thanks Red Bull for sponsoring star-craft 2!
Best taste and energy!
