Energy Drink Ratings Explained
Tilt Energy Drink Review
I tried Sparks and it was a little sweet. However, I loved the concept of a pre-mixed alcoholic energy drink. Don’t you? Actually I don’t care, I am the one doing the review and this is what I think about the Tilt Energy Drink which is made by Anheuser Busch.
Tilt Energy Drink Review: Taste
Tastes kind of syrupy, like an energy drink mixed with beer and has 6.6% alcohol. Well that is about the only thing good about Tilt energy (it has energy). This drink is not only sweet, it tastes kind of stale or old (pick one). Having been the second brand of energy drinks with alcohol that I tried, I would much rather prefer a Sparks, even though that is sweet as well. Final taste rating a meager 6, if they are going to keep making energy drinks with alcohol in them I hope they come up with something a little better tasting.
Tilt Energy Drink Review: Kick
Not a bad kick. It must have a decent amount of caffeine because I could definitely feel the affects afterwards. The kick lasted for about an hour or two at the most which is not that great, but hey at least you are getting some booze with that. Final rating for kick is a 7. Not bad for an alcoholic energy drink.
Tilt Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
You can't beat the price, at about $1.50 a can this is on par with Sparks and actually cheaper than a lot of energy drinks out there. At a bar you would probably pay more for this drink, but if you are looking for a happy hour drink or pre party drink and you don’t want to shell out the $4-$8 dollars for a mixer with red bull than this is a viable alternative. Just wish it tasted a little better, try mixing it with a little 7-up, this will dilute the syrupy taste. Or, just put it on ice for a couple of minutes! Final judgment 6.5 – hey it's cheap and it has alcohol.

yeah i like this drink. i just turned 21 and i've been buying these energy drink alcholic ales, and this is pretty good. kinda taste tangeriny with a kinda low kick in both energy and alcohol. right now im kinda feeling the black sparks 7.0% that .4% really makes a difference and more energy and better taste!
but i will say this almost every one of these drinks i've had at some point i feel kinda nausciause and kinda like im bout to barf, the tilt is the only thing that i havent felt this at all on. the taste is smoooth and consistant.
i have to agree, it does have a consistent taste...almost a strong "Zima" taste for the older group who even remember Zima. But not gonna lie, real talk...its strong and hits u hard and stays with you..good enough for me! id say a 8 out of 10 just because of that "Zima" taste.

I could also taste a hint of the "stale/old" flavor on my first one. However, by the time I got to the second one this was going down like a jolly-rancher infused Zima mixed with Red Bull. However, I really couldn't pin-point the fruit flavor until I read another website. Started as orange (or tangerine as someone else said) but then ended up more like raspberry. Very interesting... My wife hates it but I actually enjoyed it. Can't beat it for 6.6% alcohol and a 4-pack for $3.49 at Kroger.
well im in college and this is one of the drinks that girls like. main reason for this is that it dosent taste like beer. i'll have to say it has a bad after tastes and it makes me feel like i gotta run to the toilet. its to sweet f they fix that its will be great. i have to say though after 5 you feel the heck out of them
Alkaseltzer tastes better. This has got to be one of the worst ideas, and one of the worst beverages I've ever tasted. Should not even be associated with beer. Luckily drinks like Tilt and Sparks have been deemed potentially unsafe and these brewers will no longer be adding caffeine to the drink. Not that the flavor will improve much.
you know what's weird...i used to buy these all the time when they first hit the shelves cause they only costed $.99 a can. I always drank the 8%, and two of these would definitely be more than enough. What I really want to get at though, is I used to drink these back in 2006 - 2007, the last time I ever had a Tilt, was January of 2008. till this very second, everytime I consume a good enough amount of alcohol, even though a year and some days later...I can still sense the aftertaste of a Tilt deep deep deep down inside my internal organs somewhere...It's kind of scary in a way considering these things are mixed with so many different things and I doubt these drinks were tested for effects in the long run.

I have been drinking this for a very long time and I personally think it is way better than sparks. I only drink sparks when they dont sell tilt. After drinking sparks tilt has a much better taste to it! I think this was a good idea. I would like to see what else they will come up with for energy beers!
I been drinking the green tilts for a couple years now and I have to say, I tried the orange ones and cant help but think of Dimatap. I absolutely hate all of those types of drinks eccept the 8% green Tilt. I have also found that they are not good for passing a piss test. It will show for up to two days as things from cocain, opiets,MJ, things of those natures. so if you have to give a urine sample, I wouldnt drink them a week prior to such occasion. Other than that, I cant get enough, I love the stuff.
I think this drink is kick ass.
i was tired but still wanted to go out to the bars downtown, so i drank two in a row earlier tonight and i think the energy drink overloaded me. i had a beer afterwards and went to use the restroom and my heart was pounding and i was sweating all over the place. i quickly became nauseated and had to vomit. i then stumbled home because my heart was racing and when i got there i felt like i had a pounding headache. about an hour later i was feeling better. needless to say i think its a great drink, but they should post how much caffeine is in each one of these. i will keep drinking tilt, but next time i think ill just do one per night.
I personally enjoyed this drink, my only problem is after drinking just two, I was stumbling drunk and eventually threw up. I still have no idea why since I am able to take at least 3 or 4 shots of vodka and not be hammered. *be warned this stuff is STRONG* make sure to take it slow and let the alcohol in your system take affect before you get into that, "i'm not drunk enough I need another beer" phase because you will regret it.
I'm 5` and 103 pounds. I went to a party and had only one tilt. Its like black out in a can. The taste is great, but it hits you fast. I was hungover for three days but it was worth it, thank you tilt ;p
