Well what can I say, I got myself the original Kronik Energy Drink basically because of the name. That and so I can walk around saying "Make my drink the Kronik, I wants to get .... .." well you might know the rest. Although most people would associate the name with being lazy, I was very optimistic. The price was $1.99 for a 16 ounce Kronik Energy drink which is pretty standard across the market. Well lets see how this beverage tastes and if it can hold up to the claim on top of the can which states "unrelenting energy supplement."

Kronik Energy Drink Review: Taste
When first cracking the can I noticed a rather pungent smell. I don't know if this was done on purpose or not, but I definitely got a chuckle out of it. Besides the smell, the drink itself tastes pleasantly fruity, almost like a passion fruit drink. Also, if my memory serves me right, this is the first energy beverage I can recall that came in a blue color. Although there was some medicinal aftertaste to the beverage, it was not very noticeable and it was probably better than 80% of the other energy beverages out there. Overall I was pleased with the taste, so I will give it a nice 8.2!

Now for the all important "kick" factor. To tell you the truth I was quite impressed with this beverage. I did not see "caffeine" anywhere in the ingredients or on the label so I was not expecting too much of a kick! I was however, pleasantly surprised as the 16 ounce can really provided a substantial boost of energy which lasted several hours. The only downfall to Kronik is that it is 16 ounces and it contains quite a few calories, around 280. Now if you are worried about calories, then they do offer a low carb version as well that only contains 10 calories. Final kick rating is a above average 8.3!

Well overall the drink provides a good passion fruit like taste and an above average kick. There are a lot of calories in the drink, but if you are looking for a low carb (low calorie) version they offer this as well. Look for a review on the low carb version in the future. Well I feel confident in saying, "Make my energy drink the Kronik." Final judgment - above average 8.3!
