Diesel Energy Drink: 16 Cylinder

Buy Diesel Energy

Taste Rating: 7
Kick Rating: 8.5
Final Judgment Rating: 7.5
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Diesel Energy Drink Review
Another beverage that is using a high powered approach to the energy drink market. The Diesel Energy drink boasts "five more amino acids" than regular energy beverages. So lets see how Diesel performs in the reviews.

Diesel Energy Drink Review: Taste
First off I was expecting a pretty much ordinary energy beverage since there is not really any information on flavor on the label. Turns out I was right. Diesel tastes pretty much like the standard energy drinks out there i.e. Red Bull and Rock Star. Diesel has that typical medicinal aftertaste to it, but they have made slight improvements. Not too bad, but nothing eye opening. I will give Diesel a 7 out of 10 for taste.

Diesel Energy Drink Review: Kick
I tried the 16 ounce or 16 cylinder version of the diesel energy drink. There is also a 24 ounce version but usually those are just way to much to chug. The 16 ounce version has all those extra amino acids and a whopping 13 milligrams per ounce of caffeine. To sum up this bad boy gives off a pretty good kick. Maybe even enough to power a Mack Truck? The review for kick gets a nice 8.5.

Diesel Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Similar taste of Red Bull, but better kick and for the same price. Not too shabby. They should come out with a couple more flavors to mellow out the medicinal taste and then they should have one hell of a drink. Final judgment, 7.5!

Bong Water Energy Drink: Rasta Cherry

Cost: $2.00
Cost Per Ounce: $0.10
Active Ingredients: Caffeine
Taste Rating: 7.5
Kick Rating: 7.5
Final Judgment Rating: 7.5
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Bong Water Energy Soft Drink Review
All right now I have seen it all. Bong water energy soft drinks? You got to be crazy to try one of these 20 ounce drinks. They come in several flavors with names that brink back 60's and 70's nostalgia. Some of these names include; Purple Haze, Bell Bottom Blooz, Cottonmouth Quencher, Green Dreams, Mowii Wowii, Rasta Cherry and Apple Poco Gold. So I ordered a Rasta Cherry Bong Water Energy Soft Drink online and here is what I think of it.

Bong Water Energy Soft Drink Review: Taste
This is supposed to be made to taste like cherries and they really did not do too bad of a job. With a name like Bong Water you don’t think the taste would be anything pleasing but leave it to the Bad Boy Beverage Company to pull it off. It was a little tangy, but their was really very little medicinal taste. The cherry flavor was also not too overwhelming, otherwise it would be next to impossible to finish one of these 20 ounce drinks. The drinks are carbonated but the web site says that they have less carbonation then regular soda. I never thought I would say this, but I actually enjoyed drinking this cherry flavored Bong Water. The review for taste gets a pleasing 7.5.

Bong Water Energy Soft Drink Review: Kick
Usually when someone thinks of Bong Water, they associate it with smoking weed or something. When you think about it that is about as far from being energetic as possible. So I really did not have high expectations when it came to this particular beverage. Turns out I was wrong, the main ingredient is caffeine meaning that it gives off a pretty decent kick. I could not find out how much caffeine per serving was in the drink but the web site states that the caffeine is equivalent to one cup of coffee. Well one cup of coffee can contain anywhere from 100 to 140 milligrams of caffeine. If this is true for the Bong Water then we are looking a drink that is on level with the likes of Monster Energy Drink. All in all the kick was pretty good. I will give the kick rating a 7.5 also.

Bong Water Energy Soft Drink Review: Final Judgment
The name in itself really tells the consumer that this drink won’t taste good or really won’t give you much energy. But in fact it does, and if this drink ever catches on with the right crowd (you guys know who I am talking about) this would be a pretty decent energy beverage, albeit they might have to lower the price? Final judgment, 7.5, cool name, pretty good flavor and kick!

Tilt Energy Drink Review

Tilt Energy
Cost: $1.50
Cost Per Ounce: $0.09
Active Ingredients: Alcohol, caffeine, ginseng, Guarana
Taste Rating: 6
Kick Rating: 7
Final Judgment Rating: 6.5
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Tilt Energy Drink Review
I tried Sparks and it was a little sweet. However, I loved the concept of a pre-mixed alcoholic energy drink. Don’t you? Actually I don’t care, I am the one doing the review and this is what I think about the Tilt Energy Drink which is made by Anheuser Busch.

Tilt Energy Drink Review: Taste
Tastes kind of syrupy, like an energy drink mixed with beer and has 6.6% alcohol. Well that is about the only thing good about Tilt energy (it has energy). This drink is not only sweet, it tastes kind of stale or old (pick one). Having been the second brand of energy drinks with alcohol that I tried, I would much rather prefer a Sparks, even though that is sweet as well. Final taste rating a meager 6, if they are going to keep making energy drinks with alcohol in them I hope they come up with something a little better tasting.

Tilt Energy Drink Review: Kick
Not a bad kick. It must have a decent amount of caffeine because I could definitely feel the affects afterwards. The kick lasted for about an hour or two at the most which is not that great, but hey at least you are getting some booze with that. Final rating for kick is a 7. Not bad for an alcoholic energy drink.

Tilt Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
You can't beat the price, at about $1.50 a can this is on par with Sparks and actually cheaper than a lot of energy drinks out there. At a bar you would probably pay more for this drink, but if you are looking for a happy hour drink or pre party drink and you don’t want to shell out the $4-$8 dollars for a mixer with red bull than this is a viable alternative. Just wish it tasted a little better, try mixing it with a little 7-up, this will dilute the syrupy taste. Or, just put it on ice for a couple of minutes! Final judgment 6.5 – hey it's cheap and it has alcohol.

Energy Drinks with Alcohol

Alright we have all probably tried or at least heard of a Jager Bomb (shot of Jagermeister and Red Bull). But now energy drink companies such as Rockstar and Monster are making energy drinks that contain alcohol. They are following the trend that the Sparks Energy Drink laid out.

They saw a potential market, i.e. the college market (me). These college kids buy alcohol and they buy energy drinks. Why not give them what they want in one can. Well that is what Sparks did with the first energy drink that contained alcohol. I tried it and it actually tasted pretty good. Check out my review of Sparks Energy Drink.

Throw in the likes of energy beer, or caffeinated beer into the mix and you got an even bigger market. That's right you might have heard of Budweiser Energy or B>E. Well there are more companies jumping on this bandwagon as well.

This is ingenious. The energy drink market is supposed to grow by 70% this year and when these new alcoholic energy drinks come out from Rockstar and Monster and college students learn about them it might grow by 120%.

That is why I decided to devote an entire category on my Energy Drinks Review Blog to the likes of energy beverages with alcohol and caffeinated beer. Who better to review these drink than someone in the college market. So check in often to see which alcoholic energy drinks I have tried and reviewed recently, or better yet le me know about your favorites.

Vamp Energy Drink Review

Vamp Energy
Cost: $2.00
Cost Per Ounce: $0.24
Active Ingredients: Taurine, Caffeine, Guarana, Ginseng
Taste Rating: 9
Kick Rating: 6
Final Judgment Rating: 7.5
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Vamp Energy Drink Review
You can tell this is a goth themed drink because of the way the can is designed. So all you goth princesses can enjoy this Vamp Energy Drink because it is not cool. Isn't how that works? If it's not cool, or not mainstream you can drink it? Whatever, this is definitely not mainstream and you are definitely not going to find this at your local 7-11.

Vamp Energy Drink Review: Taste
This drink is actually really simple to describe. Vamp tastes like black cherries. That’s it. There is not much else to describe. There is a minimal medicinal aftertaste, it is actually almost non-existent. Even though this is not a mainstream drink, all you goth kids out there will be OK. You don't have to suffer with bad tasting drink, this one actually tastes better than the majority of the other energy drinks out there. Just don’t tell anyone right? Taste rating of the Vamp Energy Drink is 9.

Vamp Energy Drink Review: Kick
Tastes good and has a decent kick. I don’t know if it has enough kick to give those goth kids a smile but it had enough energy to keep me going for an hour or two. The is definitely not overwhelming like the Chaser 5-Hour Energy Drink or Redline and is not even in the same ballpark as Wired X294, but not many drinks are. Final kick rating is a mediocre 6. Nothing special, but perfect for you know who.

Vamp Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
This is not my cup of tea here, I would much rather prefer a mainstream energy beverage, because I am like that. Vamp does taste good but it does not give off much of kick for an energy beverage. I will give it a decent score so the goth kids don't try to put a spell on me or anything. Final judgment 7.5, worth trying at least once.

Wired Energy Drink - X294

Wired Energy Beverage
Cost: $2.29 – buy in bulk for $48.00 per case (free shipping)
Cost Per Ounce: $0.14
Active Ingredients: CAFFEINE, Taurine, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating: 7.5
Kick Rating: 10!
Final Judgment Rating: 9.5
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Wired Energy Drink: X294 Review
When I head about this drink I almost, no I did jump for joy and I immediately ran to the local 7-11 to buy it. This beverage has is supposed to have 294 milligrams of caffeine in it. The Wired Energy Drink could be my savior; it could even get me through Sociology. All it has to do is taste good, please let it taste good. I could even survive on a mediocre taste. Well lets see how it stacks up.

Wired Energy Drink - X294 Review: Taste
Alright at first I was thinking that this bad boy would be unbearable to drink. I mean, all that caffeine in this 16 oz can; there has to be some medicinal aftertaste. Well I was very pleased after my first sip. There was little to no aftertaste. It tastes like the majority of the other citrus energy beverages out there and goes down pretty smooth. Overall, I was pleased with this beverage, it was nothing original but with that much caffeine what more can you ask for. The taste judgment gets am above average 7.5.

Wired Energy Drink - X294 Review: Kick
I don’t know if it was me jumping for joy or if it was the pure flow of 294 milligrams of caffeine going through my body, but I was WIRED. I am no amateur when it comes to energy drinks, I have tried 30 plus of them so far and I survive off of these bad boys to get me through and too college. But this is definitely in my top three of most potent energy drinks. It is definitely on par with Redline and Chaser 5-Hour Energy. This is definitely the perfect drink for an all night cram session, but I would be a little weary about mixing this bad boy with alcohol. Final kick rating 10, let me repeat that 10!

Wired Energy Drink - X294 Review: Final Judgment
Alright the taste is not bad, its just not original. Having 294 milligrams of caffeine definitely gets me past the un-originality factor. I don’t know if you understand how much caffeine this is. A regular 12 ounce soda contains about 20-40 milligrams of caffeine. An 8 ounce Red Bull contains about 80 milligrams, a 2 ounce espresso contains about 100 milligrams of caffeine and a 16 ounce Rock Star contains about 150 milligrams of caffeine. But the 294, well the name says it all 294 milligrams baby. Try it if you dare! Final judgment, 9.5.

Invigor8 Energy Boost

Cost:$1.29
Cost Per Ounce: $0.16
Active Ingredients: Caffeine, Guarana
Taste Rating:
Kick Rating:
Final Judgment Rating:
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Invigor8 Energy Boost Review
If you are wondering why on earth I am reviewing this beverage? Or even how on earth I found out about Invigor8? It is really quite simple, I was looking for bloody mary mix when I stumbled on the Invigor8 Energy Boost made by V8. Sure enough an energy beverage from V8. I thought what the heck, this might even make a
good mix drink. Let’s find out.

Invigor8 Energy Boost Review: Taste
When looking at the can I noticed that it was sugar free, non-carbonated and was made with 100% juice. I immediately had second thoughts, a juice drink that has energy ingredients and is healthy? Well the Invigor8 Energy Boost was not the best tasting beverage I have ever had. It definitely tastes like juice, which overwhelms the medicinal taste you get with a lot of energy beverages; which is a plus. It’s an original concept, but I do not like the flavor enough to give it more than a five on the taste scale.

Invigor8 Energy Boost Review: Kick
Not really any kick to this beverage either. It does have caffeine and caffeine from Guarana but it must not have too much. I really did not feel too much of a kick from this drink which leaves me a little disappointed. It would have been nice to have an energy beverage from juice, you could have made some great tropical drinks with it in the summer time. The Invigor8 from V8 is only going to get a mediocre 5.5 for kick.

Invigor8 Energy Boost: Final Judgment
Unique concept trying to make a healthy energy beverage. The price was pretty decent at $1.29 but the kick and the taste were really not to my liking. This drink will probably go over well with health nuts since it is sugar free and is made from 100% juice. Since I am not a big health nut it did not really appeal to me, but
some might like it. Final judgment 6, I will give it some points for originality.

Must be 18 to Buy Energy Drinks?

I just read an article from Fox21.com saying that people are getting carded for buying energy drinks like BooKoo, Tab and the Chaser 5 Hour Energy Drink.

I am not a parent and Energy Drinks were a fledgling market when I was under 18 but I tend to agree with the carding of people under 18 when it comes to buying energy drinks. If I was a parent I would not want my kid to be all hyped up on caffeine when I get home from work. I don't know about any studies of energy drinks and
harmful effects in the long term, but I assume that they would be relatively addictive just like coffee. I mean I can't go a day without an energy drink just like my parents can’t go a day without their coffee but then again coffee was not made to entice children. I think I just had a brainstorm. Nope lost it.

This is not a law right now, but the way things are going it looks like it might be regulated in some way. What do you guys think about setting an age limit on buying energy drinks? I do agree with what the stores are doing, but I don't think it should be made into law. Let the parents decide.

Celsius Drink Review

Celsius Drink
Cost: $ $1.99
Cost Per Ounce: $0.17
Active Ingredients: Taurine, Guarana, Caffeine, Thermogenics stuff
Taste Rating: 8
Kick Rating: 9.3
Final Judgment Rating: 8.7
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Celsius Drink Review
I heard about this Celsius drink through the grape vine but I am not really sure whether or not to classify it as an energy drink. The Celsius energy drink supposedly is a thermogenics fat burner, or a drink that boosts your metabolism. Well if it boosts your metabolism it must get your heart pumping faster and if it does that it must be an energy drink. This is probably on par with the Redline Energy
Drink
that I reviewed.

Celsius Drink Review: Taste
The Celsius drink comes in three flavors, cola, ginger ale and lemon lime. I tried the Cola Celsius energy drink. And you know what it tasted like any other diet cola out there. There was no medicinal aftertaste at all. The 12 ounce bottle and package where quite unique and it actually seems to complement the decent flavor
of the Celsius energy drink. Although most people do not think of a cola when they think of energy drinks I believe this could fill a new gap for the people that like diet cola but want more energy. For those who don’t particularly like the diet cola taste the lemon lime sounds like more of an energy drink. I will give the Celsius cola drink an average 8.

Celsius Drink Review: Kick
I had no idea what to expect when I first tried the Celsius energy drink. Turns out after I tried it I really did not feel any different. There was not a noticeable kick at all. This was odd especially for a fat burner, but then again I really don’t know to much about the thermogenics industry. It's now 20 minutes later and I am definintely feeling the kick! Maybe the fat burner takes longer to kick in, but when it did damn!! Iguess I really don't know how to rate the kick. It takes awhile to kick in, but when it does you can definitely fee it. I guess I will have to give it the benefit of the doubt and give it a nice 9.3 kick rating!

Celsius Drink Review: Final Judgment
As of right now this drink is relatively hard to get. I found it online but I suspect it will eventually be in vitamin stores since it is a fat burner. The cola drink tasted alright and I received a delayed but noticeable kick. The fact is I believe this is more of a fat burner than an energy beverage. It would be perfect for those people who are addicted to drinking diet soda and who want to lose some extra weight. It is actually clinically proven to increase your metabolism by 12%. Final judgment is an healthy 8.7.
