Snapple Antioxidant Water Strawberry Acai - Awaken:
Alright, I know what you are thinking right off the bat. What am I doing reviewing a Snapple Antioxidant Water when the site is focused on Energy Drinks. Well I do occasionally check out other products and I was intrigued when I ran into the 20 ounce Awaken from Snapple. As it turns out it does have energy ingredients, coupled with electrolytes, vitamins and of course antioxidants. There are 4 new Snapple Antioxidant Water's available that I know of; Grape Pomegranate, Raspberry Acerola, Tropical Mango and Strawberry Acai - which I will be reviewing today as it is the only one that has the energy ingredients.

Snapple Antioxidant Water Strawberry Acai - Awaken: Taste
This is a little different than what I am normally used to as most energy drinks are carbonated. However, I was pleased with the overall taste. The flavor was not as strong as I am used to but the fresh strawberry and crisp acai flavors blended seamlessly and unlike the majority of energy drinks there was no medicinal aftertaste. Overall I was pleased with the flavor blend. Taste Rating - 8.5

Snapple Antioxidant Water Strawberry Acai - Awaken: Kick
So how will this healthy water compare to an energy drink? Well, the energy blend is 435 mg per bottle of caffeine (63 milligrams total), ginseng extract, and guarana seed extract coupled with a plethora of b-vitamins. So no it won't compete with the strongest drinks on the market, but it does challenge one of the market leaders in the kick category... and that aint no bull. Kick Rating - 8.0

Snapple Antioxidant Water Strawberry Acai - Awaken: Final Judgment
It has a good taste, decent kick and it is a way healthier alternative than I am used to as not many Energy Drinks can boast electrolytes, tons of vitamins, antioxidants and EGCG. So if you are feeling like a change from the everyday ED maybe reach for one of these instead. I did try the other three flavors as well - Grape Pomegranate, Raspberry Acerola, Tropical Mango - but since they are not really related to the scope of the blog I am not going to do individual posts for all of them. I can say that they contain all the other health properties as the Strawberry Acai that I reviewed today. Final Judgment - 8.3

Burn (Energy Drink) - by Coca Cola?

So recently I heard about Burn (energy drink) which I believe is made by the Coca Cola Company and not to be confused with the other Burn Energy Drink from Source Beverages that I have already reviewed. No, the Burn (Energy Drink) from Coca Cola is 8.3 ounces and is supposed to have 400 milligrams of caffeine? To put things in perspective the very controversial (mostly because of name) Cocaine Energy Drink has 280 milligrams of caffeine in 8.3 ounces. Either way I want to get my hands on one of these, so if any one has one or knows where I can get one to review please give me a shout in the comments section or pop me an email.

In the meantime check out this funny Burn commercial I found on Youtube:

Jolt Power Cola Energy Drink Review:
Well the weekend is over so it is time to start reviewing Energy Drinks again. So, to start off the week I have selected a classic 23.5 ounce Jolt Energy Drink, the Power Cola to be exact. SO besides being humongous, Jolt has also provided some great taste and a good kick in the past. I have not reviewed all of their flavors, but I am half way there! The entire lineup consists of Blue Raspberry, Power Cola, Ultra (sugar free), Cherry Bomb, Orange Blast and Wild Grape. Oh yeah and I almost forgot, they just introduced a tiny 2 ounce shot that I will review as well. Not only do the battery cans that I have tried so far look cool, but they also make a large pop upon opening, as well as a nice foaming dry ice effect which you should try for yourself at least once. Alright, enough fluff.... Onto the review of the 23.5 ounce Jolt Power Cola.

Jolt Power Cola Energy Drink Review: Taste
With a name like Power Cola I pretty much knew what I was going to get before opening. The only thing for me to really review was whether or not you could taste any medicinal ingredients. Fortunately, you could not. Nope not even a hint. All you really had was a cola tasting energy drink similar to the likes of a RC Cola. The carbonation, which I have thought was strong for past flavors, was perfect for the humongous cola drink. I enjoyed it, especially since it lasted me well over an hour. I mean it is 23.5 ounces! Taste Rating - 8.5

Jolt Power Cola Energy Drink Review: Kick
Well the taste was spot on for a cola flavor but how is the kick. Well it was pretty much like the rest of the flavors that I have tried so far... Pretty Darn Strong. If you end up drinking the entire bottle in one sitting as I did, you will end up consuming 280 milligrams of caffeine, 2800 milligrams of taurine, 56 milligrams of guarana (natural caffeine) and a ton of b-vitamins. A lot of energy ingredients for a pretty good price. $1.99, the same price as an 8.4 ounce Red Bull actually nets you 3 times the energy ingredients. Not too shabby. Kick Rating - 9.0

Jolt Power Cola Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Strong kick and a powerful cola flavor makes this one of my favorite Jolt's to date. I am still up in the air about 23.5 ounces, I mean it is a lot to drink, but this Monday was the perfect timing! Heck I believe you can even buy these in bulk at the Jolt Website for like $1.66 a can. Or if you want to try just one, they are pretty much available at any C-Store, just look for the Giant Battery Like Can. Final Judgment - 8.7

XENERGY Mango Guava Energy Drink Review

Xyience Mango Guava by Xyience

Cost Per Ounce:$0.16
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, Guarana Extract, B-Vitamins, Ginseng
Taste Rating:8.7
Kick Rating:8.8
Final Judgment Rating:8.8
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

XENERGY Mango Guava Energy Drink Review:
Well this will be my third review of the XENERGY Energy Drink lineup which means I am halfway there to reviewing their entire lineup of Energy Drinks. So what does XENERGY stand for you might ask? Well it is a combination of Zen and Energy and it comes in both 16 ounce and 8 ounce sizes. It is made by Xyience and is the official energy drink of the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship). Their entire lineup of flavors includes: Mango Guava (which I will be reviewing today), Blu Pom, Pink Lemon, Citrus Clear, Big Apple and Cran-Razz. So enough fluff lets move onto the review of the Mango Guava flavor!

XENERGY Mango Guava Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well first off it is sugar free and so are the other five flavors, which in my mind makes for a great start! Now how to describe the Mango Guava flavor??? Kind of a tough one as I really don't have anything to compare it to as the taste is pretty original as far as the blend is concerned. I know the guava flavor was prominent but the sweet mango taste was also quite noticeable. All in all it made for quite a sweet blend. It also had a nice carbonation level as do the others. So if you want a tropical and fruity type of flavor this might be right up your ally; however, it was a tad sweet for me, but that is just personal preference. Taste Rating - 8.7

XENERGY Mango Guava Energy Drink Review: Kick
Well the energy blend is also the same as the previous two XENERGY Drinks that I tried. The energy ingredient list includes; 190 milligrams of caffeine, guarana extract (natural caffeine), nice amount of b-vitamins, taurine, panax ginseng extract and inositol. Quite a list that delivers a great kick. No sugar present in the drink either, so there was no crazy sugar crash an hour after finishing. To sum up, definitely a good kick. Kick Rating - 8.8

XENERGY Mango Guava Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Another good addition to the lineup. The taste was a little sweet for me (even though it is sugar free), but the flavor blend was still above average and the kick was good as usual. The biggest selling point for me for the XENERGY lineup is the fact that they are all sugar free / zero calorie and they have a wide array of flavors. So stay tuned for the next review. Final Judgment - 8.8

Playboy Energy Drink Review

Cost: $2.00
Cost Per Ounce:$0.13
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, Guarana Extract, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating:8.6
Kick Rating:8.6
Final Judgment Rating:8.6
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Playboy Energy Drink Review:
This is one of the few Energy Drinks that I have been waiting to review. Why you may ask? Well to start, I am a Male, which makes Playboy a pretty strong brand name (good articles too). That and it will be interesting to see the promotions they have for the Playboy Energy Drink. I can see it now.... most cases ordered in a month or year wins a free trip to the Playboy Mansion. I would be all over that, but I would imagine I would have some stiff competition. Alright, back to the review at hand. Playboy Energy Drinks come in original and sugar free and are packaged in attractive 8.4 ounce slim line cans. Really can't see improving the image of the cans at all, unless they decide to include a sweepstakes of some sort when purchased by the case. Onto the taste and kick review!

Playboy Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well the taste of the Playboy Energy Drink will be pretty familiar to most as it is very reminiscent of Redbull. However, the taste has been improved. Instead of the typical medicinal aftertaste you get with a Redbull, you get a more pleasant, dare I say Bubble Gum, aftertaste. At least that was my impression of it. Now there are 120 calories in this 8.4 ounce drink, which is pretty standard for the market, but a little much for me. However, they do have a sugar free version as well, so stay tuned for the review of that as well. Taste Rating - 8.6

Playboy Energy Drink Review: Kick
Well the taste is similar to Redbull but you do get a better kick from Playboy. The energy ingredients include 1.6 grams of the following - caffeine, taurine, horny goat weed extract, Panax Ginseng Extract, Guarana Extract (natural caffeine), Damiana Leaf Extract and some other stuff that I can't pronounce. The caffeine, guarana extract coupled with the large amount B-Vitamins and other energy ingredients definitely makes for a worthwhile drink with plenty of energy. I found the inclusion of Horny Goat weed to be truly fitting for the Playboy Energy Drink as it is a herb used in traditional medicine that is supposed to enhance your sex life and boost your libido. Nice addition. Kick Rating - 8.6

Playboy Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Well the taste and kick are both very promising and the addition of the Horny Goat Weed is a perfect fit for this drink? Wonder if Heff uses this? I could see endless promotion possibilities and a nice staying power for this drink if it picks up national distribution. I bet you the Playboy Energy Girls are top of the line as well. I would love to see a contest between them and the Frank's Energy Girls!!! Final Judgment - 8.6

Zenedge Berry Energy Shot Review:
Well this will be my third review of the Zenedge Energy Drinks lineup. The first being the 8.4 ounce can and the second being the well received 2 ounce Energy Shot. So what distinguishes the lineup from the rest of the Energy Drinks on the market? Well, Zenedge is one of the few, if not the only drink to offer both a RTD can and a shot. Other than that I don't know too much about Zenedge, except that they are a fairly new company. So let's see if the third review goes over as good as the other two.

Buy Zenedge Shooters Here!

Zenedge Berry Energy Shot Review: Taste
Well this little 2 ounce bugger comes in an attractive package and carries the insightful tagline "Its what's inside that counts." With a tagline like that, Zenedge better deliver in the taste category. Fortunately for them, this 2 ounce shot gives off a very well blended berry taste with no medicinal aftertaste at all. Now I have tried at least 30 Energy Shots over the last couple years and most, if not all have some sort of bite to them. So I was more than pleased, even being sugar free, that I was unable to find the slightest hint of medicinal aftertaste. With any luck they will introduce some more flavors! Taste Rating - 8.9

Zenedge Berry Energy Shot Review: Kick
Well I know that both shots, the lemon lime and berry both have a good taste. I also know that they deliver a pretty good kick as well. The energy ingredients list includes 80 milligrams of caffeine, taurine and a ton, I mean a ton of b-vitamins that when combined gives you an ample kick, with no jitters (no caffeine overload) and no crash (no sugar). No the strongest shot on the market, but definitely worth it. Kick Rating - 8.5

Zenedge Berry Energy Shot Review: Final Judgment
Although not the strongest shot on the market, the good taste, ample kick and unique packaging and name should give the Zenedge Shots a leg up on the tons of competition out there. I mean, there is really not too much more you can ask for from a shot that they have not provided. Final Judgment - 8.8

Frank's Sugar Free Energy Drink Review

Frank's Sugar Free Energy Drink

Taste Rating:8.8
Kick Rating:8.2

Frank's Sugar Free Energy Drink Review:
Well this will be my second review from the Franks Energy Drink lineup. As I stated in the original review, these drinks sparked my interest several month's ago when I heard that Gene Simmons of Kiss was a sponsor / spokesman! These drinks come in slim 8.4 ounce (250 milliliter) and 16 ounce (500 milliliter) cans. There are 4 flavors currently available; classic (original), sugar free (which I am reviewing today), pineapple and lime. The first review was great and provided the classic Energy Drinks taste and kick (with some improvements) that we have all grown so familiar with. So will the sugar free version be able to continue on with the success of the original? There is only one way to find out.... So on with the taste and kick review of the Sugar Free Frank's Energy Drink!

Frank's Sugar Free Energy Drink Review: Taste
The 8.4 ounce sugar free version tastes almost identical to the original / classic Frank's flavor and can only be described as an initial Red Bull flavor followed by a rush of bubble gum flavor. It was actually quite good, especially since the bubble gum flavor replaces the typical medicinal aftertaste of Red Bull! Now this has been done before with other ED's, but Frank's seems to have nailed it down pretty good as the bubble gum flavor is not overwhelmingly sweet. Combine that with nice carbonation levels and you have a great tasting drink on your hands! Taste Rating - 8.8

Frank's Sugar Free Energy Drink Review: Kick
The energy ingredients on the sugar free Frank's seem to be identical to those of the original. Meaning there is 80 milligrams of caffeine, 1000 milligrams of taurine and a pretty good supply of b-vitamins. Now the kick from the 8.4 ounce was not one of the strongest I have had as it was similar to the level of Kick supplied from a Red Bull Energy Drink. However, if you are looking for more of a kick, they also have this in a 16 ounce (500 milliliter) version as well which should suffice for most ED consumers. Kick Rating - 8.2

Frank's Sugar Free Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Another fine addition to the lineup. Really can't wait to try the pineapple and lime flavors as well! Until then stay tuned for future reviews, or if you have time to kill take a look at Franks' website, specifically the Energy Girls! Worth the visit! Final Judgment - 8.6

Vitamin Water - Tropical Citrus Energy Drink Review

Cost: $2.00
Cost Per Ounce:$0.13
Active Ingredients:Natural Caffeine, Taurine, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating:8.7
Kick Rating:8.9
Final Judgment Rating:8.8
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Vitamin Water - Tropical Citrus Energy Drink Review:
Well most people don't even know that Glaceau, the makers of Vitamin Water, also make Energy Drinks. Fortunately for me I have been able to try to different flavors so far of the Vitamin Water energy line up, Fruit Punch and Dragon Fruit. Today I am going to give the 16 ounce Tropical Citrus Energy Drink from Vitamin Water a try. A little background on these energy products from Glaceau leads me to believe they are focusing on the health conscious market, which is growing larger as I type. They have a nice little tagline on their can that states "Nutrients are the new energy. The inside is natural, the outside is aluminum." At least they have a sense of humor. So enough fluff, let's see if the Tropical Citrus Vitamin Water performs as well as the others in the taste and kick categories.

Vitamin Water - Tropical Citrus Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well the tropical citrus flavor is not like any other citrus based ED that I have tried. You can taste the citrus flavoring, but it seems to be overwhelmed by the tropical ingredients instead which actually gives it a pretty solid taste. Just slightly carbonated, with a crisp taste. Not too sugary and not too watered down. Just right for this reviewer. The only thing that quirks me about this drink is that there are 200 calories and 50 grams of sugar in a 16 ounce serving. Now both seem to be below the industry standards, but for a health conscious brand, you think they could cut down on the sugar and calorie content. But hey that's just my opinion. At least it tastes good. Taste Rating - 8.7

Vitamin Water - Tropical Citrus Energy Drink Review: Kick
So the taste is pretty crisp and refreshing, but will the kick follow through? Well the Tropical Citrus Vitamin Energy has 150 milligrams of caffeine (natural caffeine), 2000 milligrams of taurine and a good sized helping of b-vitamins which gave me a pretty decent boost of energy. Now at first the 50 grams of sugar set me back, as I was thinking there was going to be a crash associated with the beverage, but for some reason it didn't happen. To sum up, a good kick but not one of the strongest on the market. Kick Rating - 8.9

Vitamin Water - Tropical Citrus Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Another hit for Glaceau in the energy category. Crisp refreshing taste and an ample kick. I would love to see a lower calorie / lower sugar version of this drink as well, but overall I can't complain. Another good thing about this drink is that it is available pretty much everywhere, so if you decide to get addicted to it, you won't have any trouble finding it. Final Judgment - 8.8

Loud Energy Drink Review - Pomberry Zero

Loud Energy Drinks - Pomberry Zero

Cost Per Ounce:$0.17
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Guarana, Taurine, Ginseng, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating:8.9
Kick Rating:8.8
Final Judgment Rating:8.9
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Loud Energy Drink Review - Pomberry Zero:
This will be my fourth review of the Loud Energy Drinks lineup, but my first crack at their sugar free, zero calorie, no carb Energy Drinks. Loud Beverages was formed by Steve Rifkind of the Hip Hop label Loud Records. I have enjoyed all three other flavors, Classic Mix, Sitrus Stunner and Grapple Sauce. In each of these reviews I requested a sugar free version. They finally listened to me. OK, it probably was just not my doing. Anyways, enough blah blah blah, let's see if Loud can go 4 for 4 in the reviews.

Loud Energy Drink Review - Pomberry Zero: Taste
As I stated above, I enjoyed the taste of all 3 previous Loud concoctions, so will the Pomberry Zero follow suit? The main difference is the Pomberry Zero is sugar free / no carb / no calories when the others were not. However, even with these sometimes hard to overcome taste limitations, the Pomberry Zero still managed a good flavor. The berry taste was very prevalent but I only got a hint of pomegranate flavoring. I wish it had a bit more pom than berry, but I really can't complain because the 12 ounce blend was still pulled off very nicely, especially since there are zero calories! Taste Rating - 8.9

Loud Energy Drink Review - Pomberry Zero: Kick
The taste still holds true to Loud standards, but will the kick do the same? With energy ingredients that include; Caffeine, Guarana (natural caffeine), B-Vitamins, Taurine and Ginseng you bet Loud still performs in the kick category. It may not be the strongest drink on the market, but it is very comparable to market leader Monster Energy. If they made this in a 16 ounce version I would be more than pleased! Provides the same kick as all the others, without the calories, carbs or sugar! Kick Rating - 8.8

Loud Energy Drink Review - Pomberry Zero: Final Judgment
Another good addition to the lineup, keep up coming. They may or may not (probably not) have taken my advice to make a no carb/ zero calorie version of Loud Energy Drinks, so I am going to repeat this one more time. How about a 16 ounce versions? Don't get me wrong, the 12 ounce version does the trick, but sometimes caffeine addicts like me need a bit more kick. Final Judgment - 8.8

FRS Energy Drink Review - Peach Mango

FRS Energy Drinks - Peach Mango
Cost: $2.59
Cost Per Ounce:$0.23
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Green Tea Extract
Taste Rating:8.6
Kick Rating:8.9
Final Judgment Rating:8.8
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

FRS Energy Drink Review - Peach Mango:
Well this is my final review of the FRS Energy Drinks as this is the Peach Mango is the last flavor for me to try. I have to say that I have enjoyed all previous 11.5 ounce FRS drinks so far so I think the Peach Mango, as long as it tastes good, should also be a shoe in for a good rating. FRS comes in several other flavors including Lemon Lime, Orange and Wild Berry. Diet versions are also available. So what's so special about these FRS Energy Drinks? Well, they are being promoted as healthy alternatives to your normal everyday Energy Drinks as they contain antioxidants, flavonoids and vitamins. FRS, which stands for Free Radical Scavengers, are were the multitude of antioxidants present in this drink come into play. The antioxidants, found in the quercetin, supply the same amount of antioxidant benefits as 8 servings of red onions. Weight management issues are also addressed via green tea catechins as they are supposed to help increase your metabolic rate. So enough fluff, let's see if the Peach Mango is as good as the rest of them.

FRS Energy Drink Review - Peach Mango: Taste
As I stated above the FRS drink comes in five flavors (Orange, Lemon Lime, Peach Mango - Low Cal, Orange - Low Cal, Wild Berry - Low Cal) - it is a good idea to shake the non-carbonated can before consuming so that the flavor is properly mixed. That being said, I would have to say, even though peach mango did not sound like an appealing flavor to me, it was actually pretty good. There is a noticeable green tea aftertaste, as in all the flavors that I have tried, but it is not overwhelming like some of the energy drinks that have a strong medicinal aftertaste. Besides, in my opinion, the extra health benefits are worth the tiny bit of bitter aftertaste. Shake well and you won't notice it that much. Taste Rating - 8.6

FRS Energy Drink Review - Peach Mango: Kick
So the taste is pretty good, just remember to shake, and then enjoy the added health benefits. But will the kick suffice? Well the energy ingredients include - green tea extract (85 milligrams), caffeine and plenty of b-vitamins and supplied me with plenty of energy, which is quite impressive considering I have tried some of the strongest energy drinks on the market. Although the energy was great, the best part seems to be the sustained energy levels. The initial boost is not huge, but the sustained energy and no crash were very nice. Couple that with the metabolic benefits of the Green Tea and FRS does quite well in the kick category. Kick Rating - 8.9

FRS Energy Drink Review - Peach Mango: Final Judgment
Good, sustained kick, good flavor (shake well) and excellent health benefits. To top it off FRS is actually running a promotion where they send you a free 2 week trial that includes 2 low calorie energy drinks, soft chews, low calorie packets and a low calorie concentrate all of which are packed with the same energy and health benefits as the product I reviewed today. What's the catch? Well you have to pay the shipping costs which I believe is $5.95 (about the price of two energy drinks). Check it out below and see if it is right for you. Final Judgment - 8.8

Aqua-T Energy Drink Review

Aqua-T Energy Drink
Cost: $2.00
Cost Per Ounce:$0.23
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, Guarana Extract, B-Vitamins, Panax Ginseng
Taste Rating:8.3
Kick Rating:8.3
Final Judgment Rating:8.3
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Aqua-T Energy Drink Review:
Well today I will be reviewing the 135 calorie 8.4 ounce Aqua-T Energy Drink. What makes this drink different that all the other Energy Drinks on the market? Well it looks like Aqua-T is playing up that their drink has Whey Protein Isolate in it. It even has a nifty tagline on the side of the can that states "The Best Whey to Energy is Aqua-T." I also noticed on their website they state that "Aqua-T is the only energy drink on the market that contains whey protein." Well they should probably update this as the Whey Up Protein Energy Drink also has protein. The only other thing that I noticed is that this drink only has 1 gram of protein in the entire 8.4 ounce can. So why are they playing up the whey protein aspect of this drink so much? I am not sure so I guess I will just do the taste and kick review.

Aqua-T Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well my first impressions of this drink brought back quite a few memories of all the other Red Bull Clones out there. Yes, there are quite a few of them out there but the majority of them end up improving on the medicinal aftertaste that Red Bull has. The same goes for Aqua-T. The initial taste is similar to Red Bull, but the medicinal aftertaste is replaced with a honey flavor which in my opinion worked quite well. So at least they improved on the flavoring. Taste Rating - 8.3

Aqua-T Energy Drink Review: Kick
So the taste is better than Red Bull, but will their be an improvement in the kick category? Well the energy ingredients include; taurine, caffeine, green tea extract, b-vitamins, and Panax Ginseng. So there are more energy ingredients than Red Bull and the extra ingredients ended up giving me a slightly higher kick than Red Bull too. The kick was not immediate, but I could feel the effects within 30 minutes and they did last for a couple hours. Kick Rating - 8.3

Aqua-T Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
The drink itself was pretty good, the honey flavoring was a nice improvement but not enough to make the list of Best Energy Drinks. I do have a few gripes.....The 135 calories per serving which is slightly higher than the industry standard. This should also come in a 16 ounce can and if they are going to promote Whey Protein then they should consider upping the amount. I know the Whey Up Energy Drink has 20 grams of protein.... Final Judgment - 8.3

Mamajuana Energy Drink Review

MamaJuana Energy Shots

Kick Rating:

Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Mamajuana Energy Drink Review:
I have been reviewing Energy Drinks for quite some time now, and I think the Mamajuana Energy Drink package and product is definitely one of the most unique that I have seen so far. The Mamajuana energy shot comes in a tiny 2 ounce plastic bottle that looks like it would be more at home in a health food store than in a convenience store. So what exactly is Mamajuana? Well according to their website it is an all natural energy drink, improves sexual performance, increase's your energy and sex drive and it is the only all natural male enhancer vitality drink available. It is also a 400 year old cocktail from the Dominican Republic and it is advertised as an aphrodisiac. These last couple statements might be beyond the scope of my review - especially the male enhancement and increase of the sex drive, so I will leave that open to user comments - so post away if you have experience with the latter two aspects. For me, I will stick to reviewing the energy shot based on taste and energy.

Mamajuana Energy Drink Review: Taste
So what does it taste like? Can you taste the Horny Goat weed? Not a chance, this is seriously one of the better tasting energy shots on the market. With all the ingredients in this thing I thought that there was no way possible I would enjoy this. I figured I would have to choke it down like most of the other energy shots. However, I was definitely wrong as Mamajuana has a distinct and sweet berry / strawberry taste, kind of like a sweet red wine. Not too bad for only containing 20 calories and one gram of sugar. Very, very surprised by this product. Taste Rating - 8.5

Mamajuana Energy Drink Review: Kick
So we have a good tasting, low calorie energy shot on our hands, but will it provide the ample kick I am looking for. Well it was formulated as a means to improve sexual performance, but as I stated above I am not going to review it in that way (much to my dislike). But if it gives a good kick in general it should also help with vitality in the bedroom. And with 200 milligrams of caffeine, plenty of b-vitamins, green tea extract and several other energy ingredients you can bet that this thing really got me moving. Again, I was surprised. It tasted to good to have this much kick. Anyways, props for the great prowess in the kick category. Kick Rating 9.1

Mamajuana Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Great taste, strong kick and added sexual benefits (although not tested) makes this a very well received energy shot in my opinion. I know you can purchase it on their site, but other than that I am not sure which states or convenience stores carry the product. So if you know where you can buy it at brick and mortar stores chime in with a comment. Also if you tried the "sexual enhancement" aspects of this drink then feel free to also chime in below and let the readers hear about it.

Antimatter Energy Drink Review

Antimatter Energy Drink
Cost: $2.00
Cost Per Ounce:$0.24
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, Guarana, Ginseng, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating:8.7
Kick Rating:8.5
Final Judgment Rating:8.6
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Antimatter Energy Drink Review:
So as you can tell I have reviewed quite a few Energy Drinks over the years, but the Antimatter Energy Drink will be the first one (and only that I know of) that has ingredients that have been in space. That's right, you heard it correctly...Space. The 8.4 ounce Antimatter Energy Drink even has a nice little slogan on top of the can - "Warning! Open With Caution.....Contents have been subjected to microgravity during space flight!" This is a unique aspect of the drink so I had to check out the Antimatter Energy Drink website for further review... and sure enough they actually fly the ingredients into space. The site even let's you see your can's ingredients being flown into space and explains how a portion of proceeds go to educational programs. So let's see how this beverage performs in the taste and kick categories.

Antimatter Energy Drink Review: Taste
My first impression of the drink led me to believe that this might be a Red Bull Clone with a clever marketing tactic. But my first sip proved me wrong. The initial taste is similar to Red Bull, albeit slightly sweeter. However, instead of the medicinal aftertaste you get a a hint of cinnamon flavor which is a vast improvement IMHO. Maybe the space flight had something to do with it? Either way I enjoyed it and my only complaint is that they also need a low calories low carb version as this version contains 160 calories in the 8.4 ounce serving. Taste Rating - 8.7

Antimatter Energy Drink Review: Kick
Well the taste is quite pleasing, but will the Antimatter Energy Drink give me tons of energy? Well there is 80 milligrams of caffeine and 75 milligrams of taurine, coupled with B-Vitamins, Ginko Biloba, Panax Ginseng Extract and Guarana Seed Extract. So there is more bang for your buck then a Red Bull, but it is not one of the Strongest Energy Drinks that I have ever had. The kick lasted a good couple hours, so I was more than satisfied. Kick Rating - 8.5

Antimatter Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
My initial impressions were that this would just be some novelty energy drink. The results however, led me to a far different conclusion. The taste was great and the kick was not too bad either. The addition of a low calories / low carb version would be a great addition along with a larger 16 ounce version. I am not sure if you can purchase these at any brick and mortar store, but you can buy them in bulk on the website for $45 (24 cans) shipped straight to your door. Final Judgment - 8.6

Hydrive E- Endurance Energy Drink Review

Hydrive E Endurance Energy Drink
Cost:$1.99

Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating:8.8
Kick Rating:8.4
Final Judgment Rating:8.6
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Hydrive E - Endurance Energy Drink Review:
Well it has been a month since my last Hydrive Energy Drink review. I don't know why it took so long, I have enjoyed each and every one of their flavors to date, especially the three new flavors that focus on a adding a little something extra to the formula. Hydrive Energy Drinks have a total of seven flavors now, including the three new flavors - Hydrive X - Triple Berry, Hydrive V - Citrus Burst and Hydrive E - Lemon Lime which I will be reviewing today. All of the flavors are made with fresh spring water, come in a slim 15.5 ounce plastic resealable bottle and have only 30 total calories. The new flavors are all enhanced with either electrolytes, vitamins or antioxidants. Today's flavor is enhanced with 6 vital electrolytes, so let's see how it performs in the taste and kick categories.

Official Site: Hydrive Energy

Hydrive E - Endurance Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well the name on the bottle says Hydrive E and the flavoring states Lemon Lime. This can be no further than the truth, it is definitely lemon lime, but it is unlike other lemon lime flavored energy drinks. It has a lighter crisper taste, maybe because it is made with spring water, or maybe because it is low in calories and it definitely acts as a thirst quencher, perhaps the electrolytes? Either way, Hydrive stayed true to the lemon lime flavor stamped on the bottle and is again a hit with me. I think that makes all of them a hit so far in my book. Taste Rating - 8.8

Hydrive E - Endurance Energy Drink Review: Kick
So we have established the lemon lime flavor is refreshing, but will it do more than refresh? It sure does, as there is 145 milligrams of caffeine (almost 2 Red Bull's), taurine and b-vitamins, so the kick is definitely noticeable. On top of that, the entire 15.5 ounce bottle only contains 6 grams of sugar. Compare that to market leaders Monster and Rockstar who have between 50 - 60 grams of sugar. So to sum up, ample energy, low sugar, no crash. Kick Rating - 8.4

Hydrive E - Endurance Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
If you have not tried a Hydrive I recommend giving it a try. The new flavors all add a little something something to the typical energy drink. Besides that the flavoring is great and the drink itself is just plain refreshing. I am seeing these at more and more brick and mortar stores and convenience stores. If you can't find one near you just pick up a free sample online! Final Judgment - 8.6

OC Insane Energy Shot Review

OC Energy Shot
Cost:$2.99 - cheaper in bulk

Taste Rating:8.0
Kick Rating:9.0

Energy Drink Ratings Explained

OC Insane Energy Shot Review:
Well this is my final OC Energy Drink review, except this time it is a shot. I think the only reason I really waited to do the Energy Shot last is because of the name - OC Insane Energy Shot. With a name like that I got a little excited. I was also excited when I looked at the bottle to see that it provided hangover protection. Not really sure what that is all about, but hey, in the name of reviewing Energy Drinks I will put it to the test! So with 40 calories and 2 ounces of "insane" energy let's see how this shot performs in the taste and kick categories and to test the "hangover cure" I will do this from the comfy seat at my local pub.

Buy OC Energy Drinks Here

OC Insane Energy Shot Review: Taste
Alright, so what does it taste like? Well it is eerily similar to the Diet Version of OC Energy with a hint of bitterness (from cramming all the energy ingredients into 2 ounces). So there is a hint of lime along with a hint of berry flavoring, quite good as a stand alone. Now to add to my Stoli mixer and presto, energy and alcohol (don't try this at home). The alcohol mix was quite good, I mean I really didn't notice a big change in my Stoli mixer, but hey I only added one ounce. Taste Rating - 8.0

OC Insane Energy Shot Review: Kick
Well the taste was pretty good and it was a nice addition to my cocktail, but is the energy insane? Well with energy ingredients that include: HFCS, taurine, caffeine, guarana (natural caffeine), b-vitamins and ginseng. Now I am not sure how much of each is present but I do have to say I definitely got a good kick from this product that lasted several hours. Not quite insane, but hey I have had drinks with 500 milligrams of caffeine, so Insane to me is a high level. For the normal energy fanatic this is more than enough to keep you going. Kick Rating - 9.0

OC Insane Energy Shot Review: Final Judgment
So good taste, mixed or straight up, and a good amount of energy. As for the hangover supplement, I am not exactly sure what it is, maybe the electrolytes, but it seemed to do the trick. Now I didn't go and tie one on, or get fall down drunk, but I had a couple cocktails at happy hour and a couple after and I didn't have a problem in the morning. So if anyone knows what the hangover supplement is, feel free to chime in below in the comments. Final Judgment - 8.6

Vitamin Water - Dragon Fruit Energy Drink Review

Taste Rating:8.9
Kick Rating:8.9
Final Judgment Rating:8.9
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Vitamin Water - Dragon Fruit Energy Drink Review:
Well this is my second Vitamin Energy review and I have to say I was quite pleased with the first Glaceau Vitamin Energy flavor. Glaceau (Vitamin Water has three different flavored energy beverages; Fruit Punch (which I reviewed earlier), Dragon Fruit (which I am reviewing today) and Tropical Citrus which I will review in the future. All three flavors come in a 16 ounce can and seem to focus on the health conscious market. They also have a funny tag line on the can that states "recommended for people who have children, those trying to get pregnant or people in search of natural energy". So basically a funny alternative to the typical warnings found on most Energy Drinks. All right enough meaningless fluff, let's see how the Vitamin Water Dragon Fruit performs in the taste and kick categories.

Vitamin Water - Dragon Fruit Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well first off as the can states it has a dragon fruit flavor? Meaning.... It is basically a lighter version of a fruit punch - more sweet than sour, but a little bit bitter as well. Overall the ingredients blended quite well in the 16 ounce carbonated can. There was no hint at all of any medicinal flavoring. The taste was good but I would just like to mention that there are 200 calories in this drink, which is not what I was expecting from a health conscious brand. All 200 calories of this beverage come from carbs, sugar to be more exact. This is still below market leader Monster Energy, but I hope they come out with a low cal / sugar free version. Taste Rating - 8.9

Vitamin Water - Dragon Fruit Energy Drink Review: Kick
Good taste but a decent amount of sugar. Hopefully this won't give me a crash. The energy ingredient list includes - 150 milligrams of caffeine (natural caffeine), 2000 milligrams of taurine and a whole bunch of b-vitamins. I would also like to mention the presence of electrolytes and vitamin C as well. The kick did end up lasting several hours, even with the amount of sugar (50 grams). Maybe this was offset by the level of electrolytes??? Either way the kick was decent. Kick Rating - 8.9

Vitamin Water - Dragon Fruit Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Good taste, decent kick. My only complaint is the level of sugar (50 grams) and calories (200) per 16 ounce serving. Come out with a low calorie / sugar free version with the same taste and the same kick and I would be all over this drink! Besides you can get this beverage pretty much anywhere. Final Judgment - 8.9
