BooKoo Energy Drink Review

BooKoo Energy Drink
Cost: $2.50
Cost Per Ounce: $0.10
Active Ingredients: Caffeine, Taurine, B Vitamins
Taste Rating: 7.5
Kick Rating: 8.5
Final Judgment Rating: 8.5 – first to 24 ounces!
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

BooKoo Energy Drink Review
24 ounces? No freakin way did I just see a 24 ounce BooKoo Energy drink? Sure enough at the local 7-11 there sits a gigantic can. I thought to myself, how the hell am I going to finish 24 ounces. That and it better taste good or I am going to be pissed off that I would have to waste this much of an energy beverage. Well for
$2.50 lets see how the BooKoo energy drink does in the taste and kick tests.

BooKoo Energy Drink Review: Taste
What do you know, another citrus based drink. Well at least this one tastes like a supped up version of sprite with a medicinal after taste. Originally the drink tasted fine, but have you ever tried to finish two cans of sprite? Well after 16 ounces of the BooKoo energy drink I had enough. It is not that it didn't taste good; it’s that that is a lot of drink to finish. On the bright side of things, if you want to throw a party and cheap out, instead of buying Red Bull and having Jager-Bombs you could have BK bombs. You get three times as much energy drink for $0.50 more than a Red Bull Energy Drink. Taste rating for BooKoo energy beverage: 7.5. It is not bad it is just that 24 ounces can be a little overwhelming.

BooKoo Energy Drink Review: Kick
If you finish the drink you will have inhaled 120 milligrams of caffeine per serving (360 milligrams total). Compare that to a single serving of the 180 Energy which gives you a little over 90 milligrams of caffeine and it is quite substantial. Now put into the equation that the 180 energy is only 8.2 ounces and the story changes. I did get a good kick from the 16 ounces of BooKoo that I drank and I am sure that I would have got an even better kick if I would have finished the whole thing. I am one for value, but I am not sure that I like the fact that I have to drink so much of the BooKoo drink to get my caffeine kick. Overall I will give the kick rating a nice 8.5.

BooKoo Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
24 ounces is a first, the price is not too steep and the taste is doable. The kick is also pretty nice, but the only bad thing is that it takes sports out of the equation because if you slam the whole thing you will have gut rot. On the plus side of 24 ounces you do get a cheap way to do Jager-Bombs! Final judgment 8.5 for
being the first to 24 ounces: now lets see who makes it to 32 ounces first.

Mountain Dew MDX Energy Soda Review

MDX Energy Soda
Cost: $.99
Cost Per Ounce: $.07
Active Ingredients: Caffeine, Taurine, Ginseng, Guarana
Taste Rating: 6.5
Kick Rating: 6
Final Judgment Rating: 6.5
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Mountain Dew MDX Energy Soda Review
Keeping on the low budget energy drinks I decided to try the new Mountain Dew MDX Energy Soda. Combine the cheap price with the fact that it is made by Mountain dew and you get a winning combination. At least that is what I am hoping for with this Mountain Dew MDX Energy Soda. I think Mountain Dew released this to compete
with the Vault Energy Drink that Coca-Cola came out with. They are also marketing Vault as an energy beverage that kicks like a soda. Let's see how this drink stacks up against the competition.

Mountain Dew MDX Energy Soda Review: Taste
This tastes very similar to the original Mountain Dew except that it has a bit more of a melon taste than a citrus taste. That and the fact that there is a slight after taste which probably comes from the energy ingredients of Taurine, Ginseng, and Guarana. This definitely does not taste like the regular energy drinks that you are used too, but it still has a slight medicinal after taste. Overall I think that the Vault Energy Drink does a better job of mimicking Mountain Dew than the new Mountain Dew MDX Energy Soda. I will give this soda an average rating of 6.5.

Mountain Dew MDX Energy Soda Review: Kick
This soda is not going to be as strong as most energy drinks but I was rather impressed. For $.99 you get 14 ounces of relatively decent kick. The only drawback to this is the kick does not last too long and there is a pretty noticeable crash afterwards. This is not your best bet for a morning coffee replacer or a substitute
for that all night study bender but it would definitely be a good in between drink. Kick rating gets a 6.

Mountain Dew MDX Energy Soda Review: Final Judgment
Overall this is not bad for an energy soda. But if your looking for a pick me up this is probably not the drink for you. It does taste good and it is cheap so I will be kind and pass a final judgment of 6.5, which is a full point lower than I gave Vault. Check out the Vault Energy Drink Review

Red Jak Energy Drink Review

Red Jak Energy
Cost: $1.50
Cost Per Ounce: $0.09
Active Ingredients: Caffeine, Taurine, Ginseng, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating: 7
Kick Rating: 6
Final Judgment Rating: 6.5
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Red Jak Energy Drink Review
Just ran into a gas station to pick me up a little pick me up. I was a little short on cash so I went with the Red Jak Energy Drink because it was only $1.50. Yeah, I know what you are thinking, you paid $1.50 for an energy beverage that is 16 ounces. Are you out of your mind. Well I might be but I needed a little pick me
up and I could use the extra cash at the bar. I could get a half a game of pool in! Well enough background and onto the Red Jak Energy drink review.

Red Jak Drink Review: Taste
Alright the can was quite unique as it was black with a splash of red that kind of looked liked the Budweiser crown. I opened it up and it smelled vaguely like apples. I am not the biggest fan of apples, but you know an apple a day keeps the doctor away. It is somewhat fruity but you can definitely taste the medicinal energy taste and it is a little sour. It actually has somewhat of a strong bite to it that the sour flavor brings out. It is actually reminiscent of the Tab Energy Drink that I reviewed a couple of days ago. It is fruity, a little sweet but has kind of a sour aftertaste to it brought on by the energy ingredients. Well I will give the Red Jak Energy Drink review for taste a mediocre 7 as it is nothing special.

Red Jak Energy Drink Review: Kick
I was hoping the kick would make up for the mediocre flavor but turns out that the kick is rather disappointing as well. I thought the kick hit me right away but it turns out it was just the sour after taste. The total kick lasted about 2 hours, which is far from par. There was no crash at the end of the kick, but yet again
there was not much of a kick at all. The Red Jak Energy Drink review for kick will get a less than mediocre 6.

Red Jak Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Alright all you assholes that were laughing at me when I reached into the bargain bin for an energy beverage were right. This drink did not taste that great nor did it give the desired kick that I was looking for.
However not all bargain bin drinks are bad. Check out the Hype Energy Drink, it only costs $1.50 and it was really good. That being said I will give a final judgment on Red Jak of 6.5.

Lost Energy Drink Review

Buy Lost Energy Drinks
Cost:$2.00
Cost Per Ounce: $0.13
Active Ingredients: Taurine, Caffeine, Inositol, B-Vitamins, Glucose, Guarana, Ginseng
Taste Rating: 8.7
Kick Rating: 8.8
Final Judgment Rating: 8.8
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Lost Energy Drink Review
This relatively new energy beverage is made by the same people that make Monster Energy Drinks. I figured that if I liked Monster then I should definitely like this new Lost Energy Drink. The can itself boasts a trippy mural style that should relate well to the younger market. Well enough background
and onto the Lost Energy Drink review.

Lost Drink Review: Taste
I had very high expectations for this drink as I was a big fan of the Monster Energy Drink. Turns out the flavor is eerily similar to that of Monster. It has a rather sweet taste that helps nullify all the ingredients that could cause a medicinal aftertaste. In all honesty they actually improved on
the all ready great taste of Monster. Combining the great taste with the 16 ounce can and decent price of $1.99 you get a pretty favorable taste review for the Lost Energy drink of 8.7 which is slightly better than the taste rating I gave in the href="http://energy-drink-ratings.blogspot.com/2006/05/monster-energy-drink-review.html">Monster Energy Drink Review.

Lost Energy Drink Review: Kick
Again I was expecting good things as Monster was one of the first to pack a good punch in a 16 ounce can. The Lost Energy Drink definitely carried on that tradition. The kick I received was pretty damn good. It did not have too much carbonation and the sugar level helped me avoid any after shock jitters associated with some energy beverages. I sustained a pretty high energy level from the kick for about 4-5 hours. I will give the kick a high 8.8.

Lost Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
It tasted great, gives a good kick, comes in 16 ounces and basically improved on Monster. The kick was not as good as the kick I got from the Redline Energy
Drink
, but the taste was a hell of a lot better. Overall I think this drink should go over quite well. It would go over even better if they dropped the price a little bit, but then again most drinks would! Final judgment, 8.8 slightly better than Monster!

Tab Energy Drink Review

Buy the Tab Energy Drinks
Cost: $2.00
Cost Per Ounce: $0.19
Active Ingredients: Caffeine, Taurine, Ginseng, Guarana,
Taste Rating: 8.5
Kick Rating: 8.5
Final Judgment Rating: 8.0 - could be Cheaper.
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Tab Energy Drink Review
After having a rather rough weekend I needed an drink to get me going. At the local BP I noticed that there was a Tab Energy drink. I thought to myself that there is no way possible that Coca-Cola came back with this old school diet beverage in energy drink format. Sure enough the Tab Energy drink was mad by Coca-Cola and had
only 5 calories per serving. Keeping my girlish figure in mind, I decided to purchase this drink. Here is what I think of the Tab Energy drink.

Tab Energy Drink Review: Taste
This drink has a sweet and sour taste to it. You can tell they tried to add some type of watermelon flavor to it but it ends up being overwhelmed by the ingredients that give you the energy leaving a slightly sour aftertaste. It was rather pleasing to drink and it comes in a 10.5 ounce can, which is fairly unique for this market. I had no trouble finishing this drink and was actually left wanting more. I will give the Tab Energy beverage review for taste a above average 8.5.

Tab Energy Drink Review: Kick
The original Tab had about 30 milligrams of caffeine whereas Tab has three times that amount (95 milligrams). I figured that combining all this excessive caffeine with the other energy ingredients of taurine, ginseng, and Guarana would give me a pretty decent kick and I was not mistaken. This 10.5 ounce caffeine filled drink gave me a really good kick that lasted for a couple hours; it even kept me awake during Economics! I will give the Tab energy beverage review for kick another above average 8.5.

Tab Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
By bringing back the old school Tab diet cola brand, Coca-Cola has scored a winning combination of taste and kick for their new energy beverage. It looks like they are mainly marketing this drink towards women because they are really emphasizing the low calorie aspect. However, men don't need to shy away from this drink, but if you are not quite comfortable with drinking the same beverage as your sister you could always try the Vault Energy Drink by Coca-Cola as well. Final judgment: 8.0. It could be a little cheaper!

Socko Energy Drink Review

Socko Energy Drinks
Cost: $2.00
Cost Per Ounce: $0.13
Active Ingredients: Caffeine, Taurine, Guarana, Ginseng, Horny Goat Weed, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating: 7.5
Kick Rating: 8
Final Judgment Rating: 7.5
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Socko Energy Drink Review
Alright I originally heard about the Socko Energy Drink when I heard that Hulk Hogan was introducing a new drink called Hulk Energy Drink. Since the drink was not out yet I figured I would get the next best thing and get a Socko Energy Drink. They are relatively easy to find, I found one at my local gas station. Well enough background and onto the review.

Socko Energy Drink Review: Taste
Socko it to me this freakin thing is sweeeeet. I might be exaggerating a little bit but this Socko energy drink is one of the sweetest drinks that I have ever tasted. This is not necessarily a bad thing except for that 16 ounces of pure sweet will probably give me gut rot. I hope the Hulk Energy Drink does not
taste this sweet. His should taste bitter and rough and should be the kind only hard asses drink, unless they are marketing it from the Hollywood Hogan days. If you like sweet tasting drinks this is one you will enjoy.
Another one you would enjoy is the 180 Energy Drink. I will give the original Socko Energy beverage review for taste an average 7.5. It is a little too sweet for my taste.

Socko Energy Drink Review: Kick
16 ounces of pure energy? Well not exactly but there is something in the ingredient list called horny goat weed. I Googled it and it is supposed to increase your sex drive. Well I am in college so I am always horny, this however, did not help me get laid. It did on the other hand leave me with a pretty decent kick. I will give the Socko energy beverage review for kick a nice 8. Not too shabby!

Socko Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
The price is average for energy drinks, the flavor is sweet and the kick is decent but not over the top. Frankly I was expecting a little more from the company that will be releasing the Hulk Energy drink. Maybe they are saving the good stuff for him? Whatever, I will give this drink a final judgment rating of 7.5 only because the Hulk would come to my house and give me a leg drop if I gave it anything less.

Hulk Energy Drink

When I heard that the one and only Hulkster had released an energy drink I was thrilled. He is releasing his own energy drink powered by the Socko Energy drink and produced by Bliss Beverage. There is a really neat looking cartoon drawing on the Hulk Energy drink of Hulk Hogan. Hogan had a series on VH1 and apparently it is coming back and this time they wil be talking about his drink. Yeah, Yeah I know you all can't wait to see the VH1 show Hogan knows best, but seriously I can't wait to try this new drink. The main ingredients of this drink are on par with the normal energy drink as it has Taurine, vitamins, & B-Vitamins. It also has something that is listed as Horny Goat Weed. I can't wait to see what that does to the system!

After hearing about Hulk's new energy drink I rushed out and find a Socko Energy Drink. Well I did find one and guess what, I am going to tell you what I think about it.

Rip It Energy Drink Review

Rip It Energy Drinks
Cost: $0.99
Cost Per Ounce: $.06
Active Ingredients: Caffeine, Guarana, Taurine, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating: 8.2
Kick Rating: 7.8
Final Judgment Rating: 8.0
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Rip It Energy Drink Review
Rip It Energy drink comes in several flavors including atomic pom, lime, citrus and sugar free versions. I will stick with reviewing the original Rip It Energy drink. They do not have a very large distribution channel so you probably won't see them in too many convenience or grocery stores. Well I did find one of these drinks at a local store and here is what I think of it.

Rip It Drink Review: Taste
This citrus flavored drink is slightly carbonated and goes down pretty good for a 16 ounce drink. The fact that it is 16 ounces means that it has to taste good or you would have a hell of a time choking it down. I enjoyed the citrus taste of this drink, as it kind of had a bubble gummy aftertaste that is actually pretty good. All in all it stacks up pretty good with the other citrus flavored drinks like NOS, Kabbalah and Vault. I will give it a healthy 8.2 out of ten on the taste scale.

Rip It Energy Drink Review: Kick
It tasted good and went down smoothly for a 16 ounce drink. All in all I was hoping that the kick would be great as well, especially since it was only $0.99. Well I was not disappointed but it was not the strongest energy drink I have ever tried. The kick that the Rip It Energy Drink gave off was a little above par. However, it did not take to long to kick in and it lasted about two to three hours before the effects started to wear off. The Rip It Energy drink review for kick will get a pretty good kick score of 7.8. This drink would be a great after dinner drink to get you through the remaining hours of the day.

Rip It Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
All in all this is a pretty decent drink. The taste was pretty good for a citrus drink, and the kick was fast acting but not the strongest. On the other hand you can't beat the price of $0.99. I don't know if this is the actual price or if the store just had a promotion running. If you can find one of these drinks I would recommend buying them based on what you get for price. It will get the job done and save you money at the same time! I will have to give their other flavors a try as well, the Atomic Pom sounds original. Final judgment 8.0, efficient drink, great price! I will let everyone know if I can get my hands on any of the other flavors!

Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Sparks Energy Drink Review
Finally a drink that has the best of both worlds! Sparks energy drink combines alcohol and energy into one can. This means that you know longer have to mix the concoction yourself. Sparks energy drink comes in three varieties, the regular with 350 calories and 6% alcohol. The lite version comes with 6% alcohol and only has 130 calories. There is also a plus version which contains 7% alcohol. I am excited about trying this, so enough B.S so I can review the original sparks energy drink in the orange can!

Sparks Energy Drink Review: Taste
My first impression was wow, this tastes like an orange crush, are you sure there is any alcohol in here? Well there is 6% alcohol by volume and the drink tastes very much like an orange soda. How many orange soda's can you drink in one night? Well I can't drink a ton, but if you put Sparks on the rocks it makes for a great drink that you can enjoy all night long. This is not an every day drink, you have to be 21 to buy it but I guess I would definitely recommend it after having a long day at work. I will give the Sparks energy beverage review for taste a high 8.5 because it tastes really good on ice, but it is a little overwhelming by itself.

Sparks Energy Drink Review: Kick
Well the atmosphere I was in did not allow me to be the best judge when it came to testing the kick of this drink. After one of these in the bar I was ready for another one, and then another, but after that I had to stop. Even on ice this drink has a strong orange taste. But after 32 ounces of sparks I was ready to make it the rest of the night. Overall I will give this drink a satisfying 7 on the kick scale.

Sparks Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
It’s cheap, it’s got alcohol and it taste pretty good as long as you have it on the rocks. It does not give the best kick but what it lacks in energy kick it should give you in alcohol kick! I was extremely satisfied and in my opinion this is a great alcoholic drink. Before you had to mix your energy beverages with alcohol,
but not anymore. I will give this drink a final judgment of 9 out of 10 for being cheap and innovative!

New Bawls Drink in a Can

The Bawls Energy Drink is now available in a 16 ounce can. That’s right you heard me, a can. I know this is not the most newsworthy event pertaining to energy drinks but I figured that since this was a great drink, the only limitation being the glass bottle with the high price tag, that I would post this to all the other energy drink lovers out there. If you have never tried the bawls drink, then check out my review of the Bawls Energy Drink. It has a great kick that you should love. Don’t worry; you can still get the old Bawls energy drink in a 16 ounce glass version. Funny, he said old Bawls!

Redline Energy Drink Review
This drink shies away from the conventional energy beverages that I have been focusing on and falls more into the category of fat burners or thermogenics. However, since the Redline Energy Drink boasts about giving off some serious kick on it's website I figured I would have to give it a try. That and the fact that I still have the freshmen 15 makes this the perfect drink to try. The only bad thing is that you can not get these things at gas stations, or grocery stores. You have to get it online or at a vitamin store like GNC. Well enough background B.S. and onto the review.

Redline Energy Drink Review: Taste
Alright I was not having any great expectations when trying the Redline Energy Drink. It is not really marketed for taste but more for the kick and fat burning qualities. I would advise shaking this drink just like the 5 Hour Energy Drink, very well, otherwise you are going to get the flavor crystals all in the last gulp. I don’t know quite how to describe the taste but to put it bluntly it is not that good. It tastes like a bunch of vitamins or something. It probably tastes this way because it is supposed to help you burn fat, which means it has no sugar. The Redline Energy beverage review for taste will get an unpleasant 4.5.

Redline Energy Drink Review: Kick
I was disappointed with the taste but how will Redline perform in the kick category? Well the bottle says to start off with only drinking half of the eight ounces. Well, considering myself a connoisseur of energy beverages I slammed the whole thing (besides that was the only way to bear the taste). My initial reaction was not that great, but after a half an hour I was ready to climb a wall. This freakin thing slammed me with energy. This would be perfect in my opinion to help with that all night rave. I will give the Redline Energy Drink review for kick a high 9.5 for unbelievable.

Redline Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
It tastes like crap, it costs too much but the kick you get from this freakin thing is amazing. The only reason I am going to give this drink a final judgment of 7.5 is because of the kick because without that it would be crap. How bought you guys over at Redline lower the price. I am sure you could expand your market past people trying to lose weight. If you want something with a little more taste and a little less kick try the No Fear SoBe Energy Drink. It is also cheaper!
