Mini Thin Rush Energy Shot Review
Well today I will be reviewing the Mini Thin Energy shot which claims 6 hours of energy and is designed specifically for the athlete! Now this is not my first energy shot and it probably won't be my last, but I don't review as many energy shots as I do Energy Drinks so it is a nice change of pace. Since this little 2 ounce energy shot is for athletes I am going to put it to the test in the gym. I am also going to see if the 6 hour energy claim holds true as not only am I going to use this for my workout I am going to use it for my least favorite workout - the morning session! So if I drink it at 6:30 in the morning right before my workout, it should keep me awake until after I have my lunch at noon. This is really going to be a test because a) I always get tired after lunch and b) it's Friday so I have little motivation as it is! So let's put the 6 Hour Mini Thin Rush to the taste and kick test!

Mini Thin Rush Energy Shot Review: Taste
First off, I would like to mention that this shot comes in a nice pink color, which would be a first (as far as I can remember) for an energy shot. To tell you the truth I really don't care much about the color of this one because in the amount of time it took me to take this sentence I have finished the 2 ounce shot and I barely noticed anything having to do with color. However, I did notice that the taste was quite good for an energy shot. I mean it's pretty much a fruit punch flavor and it was surprisingly good considering how many energy ingredients they have crammed into it. Now there was a slight bitter aftertaste in the Mini Thin, but I have yet to find an energy shot that completely eliminated the bitter aspect. So basically a well rounded fruit punch flavored shot. I liked it. Taste Rating - 8.2

Mini Thin Rush Energy Shot Review: Kick
So a good fruity taste for an energy shot, but will Mini Thin Rush hold up to it's promise of 6 hours of energy? Well as I stated in the intro, I am really going to put this one to the test. I drank it 15 minutes prior to my morning workout and expect it to last until after lunch. So what kind of energy ingredients are in this shot? Well to start there is 200 milligrams of caffeine, along with 200 milligrams of taurine, unbelievable quantity of b-vitamins (something like 8000%) topped off with something called eleuthero root which was formerly marketed as Siberian Ginseng in the United States. So as I stated before, I drank this 15 minutes prior to my workout and by the time I arrived at the gym I was more than ready to go. I haven't felt this motivated on a Friday morning for a long time. The rush was pretty much instant and the energy was great. And did it last me through lunch? Sure did. Claims of 6 hours of energy seem to be pretty accurate. Kick Rating - 9.3

Mini Thin Rush Energy Shot Review: Final Judgment
Good taste for an energy shot and a nice rush of energy that lasted a long time. Glad I got the chance to review this one. I have yet to see these available on the shelves but I am sure you can buy them somewhere. At the very least you can buy them for $2.99 at their website or in bulk as well. Final Judgment - 8.8

Zenedge Energy Drink Review

Zenedge Energy Drinks

Cost: $2.00
Cost Per Ounce:$0.13
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating:8.5
Kick Rating:7.8
Final Judgment Rating:8.3
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Zenedge Energy Drink Review
So today I got the opportunity to try one of several new Energy Drinks buy a company called Zenedge. Today I will be reviewing the original 8.4 ounce Zenedge Energy Drink. They also have a 8.4 ounce diet version as well as several flavors of shooters or energy shots which I will also be reviewing later. Other than those few tidbits I really don't know too much about the company. So let's see if their drink holds up to my taste and kick tests.

Buy Zenedge Energy Drinks Here!

Zenedge Energy Drink Review: Taste
First off this drink is lightly carbonated. Second it has a very familiar taste which most of you will recognize. This taste is very similar to Red Bull; however, there is one important difference. No Medicinal Aftertaste! That's right, you can get the same good flavor of Red Bull without the bitter aftertaste. The improvement over a classic taste makes me look forward to the review of the shooters / energy shots as a lot of those tend to have really bitter / medicinal tastes. So stay tuned for those reviews as well! Taste Rating - 8.5

Zenedge Energy Drink Review: Kick
Albeit the taste is improved considerably over Red Bull the kick is pretty much the same. Although there is nothing wrong with the kick of Zenedge, there are just stronger drinks available on the market. However, my review of the kick may be biased as I think after 250 + reviews of energy drinks I may be building an immunity to caffeine, at the very least my tolerance levels are way up. The energy ingredients include taurine and caffeine (unspecified amounts) as well as a bunch of B-Vitamins. So again, not a bad kick - just not over the top. Kick Rating - 7.8

Zenedge Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
An improved taste over the classic Red Bull flavor along with a decent kick. My only suggestion is that Zenedge should offer their beverages (both diet and original) in a 16 ounce version to complement the 8.4 ounce slim cans. This way some of those with a higher tolerance can get the bigger kick that they need. Overall Judgment - 8.3

Java Monster - Mean Bean Energy Drink Review

Monster Energy - Mean Bean

Kick Rating:8.6

Java Monster - Mean Bean Energy Drink Review:
Well it has been quite some time since I last reviewed a product from Monster Energy Drinks so today I thought I would try another one of their coffee based energy drinks. The last one I reviewed was the Big Black - Java Monster. Today I am going to review the 16 ounce Mean Bean. As I stated in the previous review, I am not a huge coffee fan, but every now and then I will have a cup or two (or pot). This is probably why I have been so apprehensive about reviewing the new line up of Coffee Flavored Monster Drinks. But curiosity eventually got me and I ended up picking one of these up at a local C-Store. So here's what I think about the Mean Bean from Monster Energy.

Java Monster - Mean Bean Energy Drink Review: Taste
Well this is a coffee flavored energy drink, so no it is not carbonated. The flavoring is similar to a latte that you would get at Star Buck's with a nice hint of vanilla. Even though I was not a coffee fan, I still enjoyed Mean Bean (actually way better more than a cup of coffee). Surprisingly it does not have near the amount of sugar as the normal Monster Drinks, this one only has 30 grams per 16 ounces which is a nice change of pace. Mean Bean also has 40% of your daily intake of calcium (from reduced fat milk), 100% of vitamin c and a bunch of other vitamins. So in all actuality Mean Bean is way healthier than your normal Monster. Taste Rating - 8.4

Java Monster - Mean Bean Energy Drink Review: Kick
Nice vanilla latte taste with added vitamins, but will the kick be as potent as a cup of coffee? Well there is 2000 milligrams of taurine, a bunch of b-vitamins, panax ginseng and caffeine. The caffeine amount is unknown, but I am assuming it is along the same lines as other Monster drinks. So my best guess is around 200 milligrams, making it equivalent to about 2.5 cups of coffee. So yeah it is stronger than your normal cup of coffee. Kick Rating - 8.6

Java Monster - Mean Bean Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Monster already has a large grasp on the energy drink market, so why not go after the coffee drinkers? Well I am far from a connoisseur of coffee, but I thoroughly enjoyed this beverage and I can see some coffee drinkers switching over. Heck, it's pretty much available everywhere, just like coffee. Final Judgment - 8.5

Hydrive V - Citrus Burst Energy Drink Review

Hyrdrive V- Citrus Burst
Cost:$1.99
Cost Per Ounce:$0.17
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, B-Vitamins, Taurine
Taste Rating:8.6
Kick Rating:8.3
Final Judgment Rating:8.5
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Hydrive V - Citrus Burst Energy Drink Review:
Well it has been quite some time since I reviewed a Hyrdrive Energy Drink but my wait is over as they have released 3 new flavors. The new flavors are Hydrive X - Triple Berry, Hyrdrive E - Lemon Lime and Hydrive V - Citrus Burst which I am reviewing today. All three of the new Hydrive Energy Drink's are nutritionally enhanced with either vitamins, antioxidants or electrolytes. In case you have not read any of the past reviews here is a little refresher on Hydrive. The drinks come in 15.5 ounce plastic resealable bottles, are low in calories (30 for the entire bottle) and are made with fresh spring water. My past reviews showed that all the Hyrdrive's were light and crisp in flavor and had an above average kick. Let's see if they can keep the good products coming.

Official Site: Hydrive Energy

Hydrive V - Citrus Burst Energy Drink Review: Taste
First off as I stated above, these drinks are made with spring water and they have no carbonation. They also only have 30 calories. Fortunately for Hydrive the combination of the above makes for a very good light and crisp beverage. The citrus burst taste is not over the top as there are only 6 grams of sugar in the entire 15.5 ounce bottle. The taste is actually quite refreshing and the strength of the taste is kind of along the lines of a vitamin water or Gatorade. Taste Rating - 8.6

Hydrive V - Citrus Burst Energy Drink Review: Kick
So it has a very refreshing citrus taste to it, but how is the kick? Well the energy ingredients include 145 milligrams of caffeine (equivalent to almost 2 Red Bull's), Taurine, and a plethora of b-vitamins. So again the kick is not going to be over the top, but it is definitely stronger than your average Red Bull. The lack of sugar also means that you are not going to get a disappointing crash. Combine the energy ingredients with the refreshing flavor and I believe the Hydrive V Citrus Burst provides an ample kick. Kick Rating - 8.3

Hydrive V - Citrus Burst Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Refreshing taste and an ample kick. Low in calories and sugar. Turns out this beverage is actually a pretty good hangover remedy as well. I noticed that the bottle stated that "vitamins counteract the bad stuff you did to yourself last night. Drink this Hydrive V, and it's like "it" never happened." And by it I assumed Hydrive meant going out and having too many cocktails. I had a friend come to town so I did end up going out for cocktails over the weekend. The next morning I used this Hydrive V to help with my hangover. In my opinion it definitely made the effects of the night before less, and it gave me some much needed energy. Final Judgment - 8.5

XENERGY Pink Lemon Review

XENERGY Pink Lemon from Xyience
Cost:$2.49
Cost Per Ounce:$0.16
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, Guarana Extract, B-Vitamins, Ginseng
Taste Rating:9.0
Kick Rating:8.8
Final Judgment Rating:8.9
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

XENERGY Pink Lemon Review
Well I heard about the line of Energy Drinks from Xyience quite some time ago, but I have never had the opportunity to try one of them. So what is XENERGY? Well XENERGY is the official energy drink of the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) and is pronounced "Zenergy." It is a combination of Zen and Energy and comes in 8 ounce and 16 ounce sizes. I will be reviewing the 16 ounce flavors which are Mango Guava, Blu Pom, Pink Lemon (which I am reviewing today), Citrus Clear, Cran-Razz and Big Apple. All of the drinks are low calorie and sugar free which makes me like the drinks already. So enough fluff and onto the review of XENERGY Pink Lemon by XENERGY.

XENERGY Pink Lemon Review: Taste
As I stated above, there are zero calories and no sugar in this drink which can sometimes be a disaster. However, the Pink Lemon flavor was very good. Basically, it was a lightly carbonated pink lemonade flavored energy drink. And even with no calories or no sugar there was no medicinal aftertaste present. The great taste of the Pink Lemon flavor really makes me look forward to the 5 other flavors (Citrus Clear, Cran-Razz, Big Apple, Plu Pom and Mango Guava). Taste Rating - 9.0

XENERGY Pink Lemon Review: Kick
Great taste, but how will the kick perform? With a laundry list of energy ingredients that includes 190 milligrams of caffeine, guarana extract, b-vitamins, taurine, panax ginseng extract and inositol you definitely get a great kick. This is not going to be the strongest energy drink on the market, but it is very comparable to Monster and ahead of market leader Red Bull. Besides, this drink is formulated with the athlete in mind and athletes do not want an overload of caffeine. I drank the Pink Lemon 30 minutes prior to my workout this morning and it definitely gave me the edge I was looking for, especially after a long weekend. The fact that it is sugar free is also nice as I did not have to worry about any crash from a sugar overload. Kick Rating - 8.8

XENERGY Pink Lemon Review: Final Judgment
Great low calorie taste and an above average kick. I wish I would have had the chance to sample this lineup earlier, I know I can't wait for the chance to try out the other 5 flavors. Combine the great taste, zero calories and ample kick with a competitive price tag of $2.49 and you have yourself a well rounded beverage. Stay tuned for future reviews. Final Judgment - 8.9

Tonix Energy Soda Review

Tonix Energy Drink
Cost: $1.99
Cost Per Ounce:$0.17
Active Ingredients:Natural Caffeine, B-Vitamins, Taurine
Taste Rating:9.5
Kick Rating:7.0
Final Judgment Rating:8.5
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Tonix Energy Soda Review
That's right you read the headline correct, this is an energy soda, not one of the countless Energy Drinks that are on the market. So what is the difference between the Tonix Energy Soda and an Energy Drink? Well in my experience an energy soda usually means great taste, but less of a kick. Before we get to the review of Tonix Energy Soda here is a little background. Tonix is made by Pluto Beverage Co, founded by Harry Johnson. and comes in a 12 ounce resealable glass bottle. His goal was to create an all natural energy soda (no preservatives or artificial sweeteners). The drink has only 35 calories and 9 grams of sugar (pure cane sugar) which is way better than your standard everyday energy drink. So enough background, let's get to the taste and kick reviews!

Official Site:Tonix Energy Soda

Tonix Energy Soda Review: Taste
First off, when I hear all natural, usually I cringe as companies tend to focus on too much of the natural aspect vs. the end product. Fortunately for the Tonix Energy Soda, the berry taste is very good, lightly carbonated and quite refreshing. You also get a hint of flavor from the black currant berry, which is very high in antioxidants and delivers a sharp sweet taste. Overall I was very impressed, not only with the taste, but also with the fact that this drink has only 35 calories and is all natural. Very good drink and definitely worth a try based on taste alone. Taste Rating - 9.5

Tonix Energy Soda Review: Kick
Alright we have established that Tonix Energy Soda has a great taste, but will it also perform in the kick category? Well the energy drink ingredients include 53 milligrams of natural caffeine and a 1960 milligram energy blend consisting of L-Carnitine, Arginine, Glutamine, Milk Thistle Seed Extract and Taurine. Now I don't know the energy effects of all those ingredients, but I do know that caffeine and taurine play a big part. Now 53 milligrams of caffeine is not a lot (Red Bull has 80 milligrams), but I don't think that is quite what they were going for. You are not going to get the biggest kick from this drink, but you will get one. You are not going to be jumping off walls, but you will perk up. Hence, energy soda. Kick Rating - 7.0

Tonix Energy Soda Review: Final Judgment
More kick than soda, and a better taste than your normal energy drink. I loved the taste and I do see a market for this style of beverage. Not everybody needs hundreds of grams of caffeine. Even though I am used to more caffeine, I thoroughly enjoyed the drink. It's all natural, has low calories, provides a decent kick and tastes great. Final Judgment - 8.5

FRS Energy Drink Review - Lemon Lime

FRS Lemon Lime Energy Drink

Cost Per Ounce:$0.23
Active Ingredients:Green Tea Extract, Caffeine, Quercetin, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating:9.0
Kick Rating:8.2
Final Judgment Rating:8.7

FRS Energy Drink Review - Lemon Lime:
Not too long ago I tried the Wild Berry FRS Energy Drink and I have to say that I was aquite pleased in both the taste category, kick category and additional health benefits categories. Since, FRS Energy, haa several unique flavors I thought I would try another one sooner than later to see if the rest of the flavors are as good. Besides, these healthy Energy Drinks are a great alternative to your normal everyday sugar laden ED. FRS Energy actually stands for Free Radical Scavengers. And that means? Basically a system of antioxidants that gets rid of FRS. So there are several other things that make the FRS Energy Drink different than the competition. First, the flavonoids (quercetin) supply the equivalent antioxidant benefit of 8 servings of red onions. Second, the green tea catechins are "supposed" to help with weight management through an increase of your metabolic rate. Third, tons of vitamins and 2 grams of fiber. There are probably plenty of other healthy effects from the FRS Energy Drink but I am only going to weigh in on the taste and kick aspects. If you would like more information, or even to sign up for a free trial starter kit (you have to pay the $5.99 shipping) which gets you a whole bunch of energy / weight assistance products then I suggest you click on the banner below. Otherwise, if you want to read more about the taste and kick than read on!

FRS Energy Drink Review - Lemon Lime: Taste
Alright, as I stated above I was not too happy with the low calorie Wild Berry flavor, but I decided to give FRS Energy another chance and try the full flavored (130 calorie) non-carbonated Lemon Lime Flavor. All I have to say is that this one was much better tasting. The full lemon / lime flavor was actually very good. There was no medicinal aftertaste in this one. Now the lemon flavor was a little more prevalent than the lime, but I have to say that the natural flavor mix made for a great drink. Kind of reminded me of an old fashioned home made lemonade with a twist of lime. Much better than the Wild Berry. Now I can't wait to try the other flavors! Taste Rating - 9.0

FRS Energy Drink Review - Lemon Lime: Kick
Well the lemon lime flavor was an improvement over the previous wild berry, but the kick seemed to be the same with the exception of a little quicker delivery (thanks to the sugar). The main energy ingredients include green tea extract (85 milligrams), caffeine and b-vitamins. So, again, this is not an over the top hardcore energy drink, but it does do the trick of delivering a nice sustained boost of energy without the crash. Combine that with the supposed metabolic boosting ingredients and you have a pretty decent and healthy energy drink. Kick Rating - 8.2

FRS Energy Drink Review - Lemon Lime: Final Judgment
As I stated several times, I liked the lemon lime flavor better than the wild berry. However, taste (as I also have stated many times before) is subjective. The kick is decent and the healthier than normal energy ingredients are a nice addition. So if you are looking for a healthy alternative to your normal everyday ED, than maybe you should give this one a try. But you don't have to take my word for it. You can get a free sample (14 day trial) that includes a low calorie ready to drink can, low calorie packets, soft chews and a low calorie concentrate. You do have to pay the $5.99 shipping costs, but it looks like a pretty decent deal to me. Final Judgment - 8.7

Jolt Ultra Energy Drink Review

Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Jolt Ultra Energy Drink Review
Well it has been almost a year since I reviewed a Jolt Energy Drink, so it is about time that I do another one. If you are not familiar with Jolt, than all I have to say is where were you in the 90's? Jolt was probably one of the first highly caffeinated beverages on the market and they have since entered the Energy Drinks foray with a line of 23.5 ounce battery shaped beverages. That's right 23.5 ounces and a cool can that can be picked up on one of five flavors. The one I am reviewing today is Jolt Ultra which has no calories, no carbs and no sugar.

Jolt Ultra Energy Drink Review: Taste
Alright it has no calories no carbs and no sugar, so how does it taste? Well it has a bland citrus like taste, I think. The reason I say that is because there is really not that much flavor present in Jolt Ultra. There is no medicinal aftertaste, but there is also not really any flavor either. They need to add more artificial sweetener. I am really sad to actually be saying this as Jolt has been a staple in the caffeinated world for such a long time. But with any luck their other flavors will have more of a taste. Nonetheless, it didn't have any calories, so at least that was a plus. Taste Rating - 7.2

Jolt Ultra Energy Drink Review: Kick
Not really a strong performer in the taste category, but Jolt Ultra does have 280 milligrams of caffeine, 56 milligrams of Guarana and a bunch of B-Vitamins (per 23.5 ounces) which is above average and higher than your Monster Energy Drinks. However, in order to get all the caffeine you have to consume the entire 23.5 ounces. Normally I am a fan of energy drinks that give you "more for your money" but 23.5 ounces of this drink was way too much for this guy to drink in one sitting. If it tasted better I don't think I would have had a problem, but hey it is sugar free! At least it is resealable. Above average kick if you manage to finish all 23.5 ounces. Kick Rating - 9.0

Jolt Ultra Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Not the best from Jolt, but I will not give up on them. There are 3 other flavors that I have not tried. The can is definitely cool and the price tag of about $2.49 for 23.5 ounce is very competitive. Maybe next time I will try the Cherry Bomb flavor. Final Judgment - 8.5

Caballo Negro Energy Drink

Caballo Negro
Cost:$2.00
Cost Per Ounce:$0.13
Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, B-Vitamins, Guarana & Ginseng Extract
Taste Rating:8.5
Kick Rating:8.6
Final Judgment Rating:8.6
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Caballo Negro Energy Drink Review
Well a couple weeks ago I reviewed the Sugar Free Caballo Negro Energy Drink and I was more than pleased. So today, I will review the regular Caballo Negro Energy Drink. First a little background information. This drink is 16 ounces, has 240 calories and is supposed to be the leading Energy Drink in the Hispanic Category, but don't quote me on that. Both the sugar free and regular Caballo Negro Energy drinks are also available in 8.4 ounce slim line cans. So enough fluff and onto the review.

Caballo Negro Energy Drink Review: Taste
This drink is very similar to the sugar free version, albeit a little sweeter. It has a citrus (pineapple) / berry taste and is similar to Red Bull with one exception. Instead of the medicinal aftertaste you get sort of a bubble gum like aftertaste. Much better in my opinion. Although I thoroughly enjoyed this drink, I think I prefer the sugar free version a little bit more as it is not quite as sweet and it has 240 less calories. Taste Rating - 8.5

Caballo Negro Energy Drink Review: Kick
The taste is far better than Red Bull and so is the kick. With a laundry list of ingredients that includes (unknown levels of) taurine, b-vitamins, caffeine, guarana extract and ginseng extract. The only downfall is that there is quite a bit of sugar which did lead to a slight crash in energy after about 3 hours. However, it was not that bad and if you want to avoid this slight sugar crash just pick up the sugar free version instead. Kick Rating - 8.6

Caballo Negro Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Above average in both the taste and kick categories. I like the bubble gum aftertaste and the design of the can. However, next time I pick up a Caballo Negro I think I will opt for the sugar free version. After all, I drink two or three ED's a day, so cutting calories helps. Either way a good drink and well worth a try. Final Judgment - 8.6

FRS Energy Drink Review - Wild Berry

FRS Energy Drink - Wild Berry
Cost: $2.59
Cost Per Ounce:$0.23
Active Ingredients:Green Tea Extract, Caffeine, Quercetin, B-Vitamins
Taste Rating:8.4
Kick Rating:8.9
Final Judgment Rating:8.9
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

FRS Energy Drink Review - Wild Berry:
Well the FRS Energy Drink lineup has been out for quite some time and seems quite popular, especially with the backing and support of Lance Armstrong. The FRS Energy Drinks are supposed to be healthy alternative to your normal everyday Energy Drinks as they contain antioxidants, flavonoids, and vitamins. So what does FRS actually stand for? Free Radical Scavengers - which is where the antioxidants come into play as these help get rid of the free radicals in your system. What else makes this drink healthy? Well the flavonoids (quercetin) supply the antioxidant benefits of 8 servings of red onions while the green tea catechins are supposed to help with weight management by increasing your metabolic rate, which in turn encourages the body to burn excess carbohydrates and fat which makes it a great addition to your workouts! Combine these aspects with all the vitamins and fiber (2 grams) and the FRS Energy Drink seems pretty healthy. So let's put it to the taste and kick test.

FRS Energy Drink Review - Wild Berry: Taste
First off the 11.5 ounce FRS Energy Drink comes in 5 different flavors (Orange, Lemon Lime, Peach Mango - Low Cal, Orange - Low Cal, Wild Berry - Low Cal), of which I am reviewing the Low calorie (25 calories) wild berry flavor. I will eventually review the other flavors but for now I will focus on Wild Berry. So enough blah blah blah already, how does it taste? Well I have to say that I have had better Wild Berry flavored energy drinks than FRS Energy, but these drinks are usually sugar laden and not good as an addition to my workout. There is a slightly bitter aftertaste after drinking this, but less than a Red Bull. Now I don't think it is from any of the medicinal energy ingredients, as it is probably from one of the multitude of vitamins, minerals ,green tea or flavonoids. My guess is the green tea taste is coming out a bit. Either way the Wild Berry taste was pretty good, it just had some bite. It is up to you if you feel the health benefits of this drink outweigh the slightly bitter taste. IMHO, they are. Taste Rating - 8.4

FRS Energy Drink Review - Wild Berry: Kick
Alright the taste is slightly bitter, but maybe the Wild Berry FRS Energy Drink can save itself in the kick category. Well it looks like the main energy ingredients include green tea extract (85 milligrams), caffeine and b-vitamins. The kick was not immediate or over the top, but I did feel a nice boost of energy which I sustained for several hours. Again it was not tons of energy, it was more of a refreshing feeling. I guess the sustained energy is more of what FRS is going for, especially since they chose Lance Armstrong as their peddler. Besides the energy, you also get the metabolic benefits which should be good for any one on a diet or looking for an addition to their workouts. Kick Rating - 8.9

FRS Energy Drink Review - Wild Berry: Final Judgment
Slighyly bitter taste, coupled with a sustainable kick and all the health aspects which might overshadow those two anyway. It is nice to see that there are healthier alternatives to your mainstream ED, and I know that I like having a healthier product to sample every once in a while. If you want to try it out for yourself you can get a free sample that includes 2 low calorie ready to drink cans, low calorie packets, soft chews and a low calorie concentrate which amounts to a 14 day supply of energy and metabolic boosters. I believe all you have to pay is the $5.99 shipping costs, which is not too bad for a 14 day trial. If you want the free trial, click on the image below. Final Judgment - 8.9

Loud Energy Drink Review - Grapple Sauce
Well I have reviewed two other Loud Energy Drinks and I have to say that I was quite pleased when I heard about the new Grapple Sauce Flavor as both of the other flavors were quite good. In case you have not read the other two review, Loud Energy Drinks were formed by Steve Rifkind of the Hip Hop label Loud Records. They now offer 3 flavors, Grapple Sauce, Sitrus Stunner and Classic Mix; all of which come in 12 ounce slim cans. So enough fluff and onto the review of Grapple Sauce.

Loud Energy Drink Review - Grapple Sauce: Taste
Alright from the name alone I figured out that this had to be some kind of grape apple mix, which has been done before but not very well. So I was a little apprehensive at first because I did not want to be disappointed by Loud. But after my first sip I knew that they had pulled off the Grape / Apple mix. The apple flavor might be the stronger of the two, but it was hard to tell as they did blend very well together. The level of carbonation also seemed to be spot on as it went down more like a juice than a normal energy drink. Grapple Sauce would probably even make a great mixer. I think this one ties the Classic Mix in the taste ratings category. Taste Rating - 9.2

Loud Energy Drink Review - Grapple Sauce: Kick
Well I already knew before I tasted the new Grapple Sauce that I was going to get a pretty good kick. The energy ingredients include Caffeine, Gurana, B-Vitamins, Taurine and Ginseng of which the caffeine and guarana (natural caffeine) seem to have given Loud a nice boost. The only thing I would like to see is a larger version that provides a tad more kick as well as lasts a little longer as it is quite easy to drink. Overall a very decent kick. Kick Rating - 8.8

Loud Energy Drink Review - Grapple Sauce: Final Judgment
Good kick and a great taste. Don't know how I could expect anything less from Loud anymore as they are 3 from 3 in my book. The only things that I can ask them to improve on is to A) make a bigger can so I can drink it longer and to B) make a sugar free or low calorie version of all three drinks. If they do that and keep the same great flavors I would be more than pleased. Final Judgment - 9.0

Society's Caffeine Addiction?

Alright I have reviewed 250 + Energy Drinks over the past year and I would have to say that I pretty much have a caffeine addiction. I still remember the big uproar from the media pertaining to how much caffeine was actually in some of these energy drinks, even though the content was similar to that of your typical Starbucks coffee (Read my Caffeine Rant here).

However, pretty much everyday I see new products that are packed full of caffeine. So even with 250 + reviews under my belt I am still amused at all the odd caffeinated products that are available on the market. It really makes me think that I am not the only one that has a caffeine addiction. So if you have a caffeine addiction, like I do, maybe some of these products will trip your trigger.

1) Shower Shock Caffeinated Soap - The meaning of a fresh shower has changed quite a bit now that you can get a caffeinated soap. All you people that take long showers, beware. A can of Red Bull has 80 milligrams of caffeine and the Shower Shock Caffeinated soap has 200 milligrams of caffeine per serving (12 servings per bar). The best part of waking up might not be a Folgers any more, it could taking a caffeinated shower. Hey at least you will save some time in the morning by not having to make coffee! And no, you can't eat the soap.
Shower Shock Caffeinated Soap

2) SumSeeds Caffeinated Sunflower Seeds - That's right the next big scandal in baseball might not be related to steroids. Instead it will have to do with the players being overly caffeinated and hyper while on the field due to consuming 120 milligrams of caffeine while eating SumSeeds Caffeinated Sunflower Seeds. Maybe it will add a couple miles per hour to Clemen's fast ball?
SumSeeds Caffeinated Sunflower Seeds

3) Primer Caffeinated Breath Spray - Fresh breath is a good thing. Fresh breath and caffeine is a better thing. With 1400 milligrams of caffeine (33 milligrams per spray/serving) packed into a tiny 8 milliliter tube you can really enjoy a solid kick. $5.00 for 1400 milligrams of caffeine or $2.00 for 80milligrams of caffeine in a RedBull. Which would you rather have?
Primer Caffeinated Breath Spray
4) Crackheads Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans - Screw brewing in it. Put some chocolate on it and eat it straight. A 4 ounce serving of Crackheads Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans will net you 266 milligrams of caffeine. Hey, they are even Kosher certified!
Crackheads Chocolate Covered Espresso Beans
5) Snickers Charged - I know what you are thinking, none of these products come from main steam companies. But hey the Mars Snackfood Company is catching on to our caffeine addiction society. Why eat a regular Snickers Bar when you can have one with 60 milligrams of caffeine for about $0.75. Two of these is stronger and cheaper than a Red Bull.
Snickers Charged
6) Diablo Energy Strips - Why chew, swallow or soap up to get your caffeine? Try one of these energy strips from Diablo. Place a strip on your tongue an voila, you got caffeine. One package contains 18 strips and will net you 450 milligrams of caffeine. Not bad for $2.49!
Diablo Energy Strips
7) Blow Energy Drink - Why even bother placing an energy strip on your tongue when you can just snort something to get your caffeine buzz? No, don't really snort it, you are supposed to mix it with water. But hey, who wouldn't want a vile of Blow that contains 240 milligrams of caffeine for $2.50?
Blow Energy Drink
8) Gum / Mints - Both a staple at your convenience store. So why not add caffeine to the mix. Again fresh breath and a nice buzz. There are a plethora of these products out there from Jolt, Bawls, Foosh, etc. Most of these gums and mints have the same kick as a cup of coffee (about 80-120 milligrams). So why have coffee then brush your teeth? Pop in some gum or mints and skip a step. Now that I think of it, caffeinated Tooth Paste would be even better. Get rid of the plaque and bad breath while getting a nice kick. I wonder if that would work? Or is it just another caffeine addiction?
Caffeinated Gum and Mints
So are we really a society with a caffeine addiction? I will let you form your own opinion on that. I don't believe we are quite there yet. But a couple more years or a couple more odd products and we might be able to apply a new label to ourselves. Maybe when they release caffeinated air?

9) Charms Maxxed Energy Lollipops - Another mainstream company, People that make Tootsie Rolls, has come out with a lollipop that has a bunch of energy ingredients. At least the packaging looks really cool!

Charms Maxxed Energy Lollipops

If you have heard of any other zany caffeine related products post a comment (and don't link spam me - I hate that).

Primer Caffeinated Breath Spray Review

Kick Rating:10
Final Judgment Rating:9.6
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Primer Caffeinated Breath Spray Review
I know what you are thinking after reading the headline. How is the Primer Caffeinated Breath Spray an energy drink? Well I guess it is technically not an energy drink, but I have reviewed other products that have additional caffeine added to them like the New Snickers bar. I have tried the gums, the mints, the dissolving strips and all of them are neat in their own right. However, I think the new Primer Caffeinated Breath Spray takes the cake when it comes to new ways of delivering caffeine to the system. Seriously, how did they come up with this? I mean, a tiny 8 milliliter breath spray with caffeine added? I can't wait to give it a try!

Primer Caffeinated Breath Spray Review: Taste
First off the tiny tube package has a slogan on it that says "Arctic Buzz, Peppermint with a Kick." So I knew right off the bat that I was getting a peppermint breath spray (with caffeine!). Now it has been awhile since I bought breath spray, but Primer seems to perform just as well as those. One spray and you now have fresh peppermint breath. The spray is pretty strong, but then again, most breath mints / sprays are. There is no medicinal aftertaste whatsoever. Not much else to add to the taste review. If you like peppermint, then you should like Primer. Taste Rating - 8.8

Primer Caffeinated Breath Spray Review: Kick
Now for the good part! This tiny 8 milliliter tube has 1400 milligrams of caffeine. Each spray is 33 milligrams of caffeine and there is about 42 sprays per bottle. Has that sunk in yet? This is by far the most caffeine that I have seen in one bottle. 1400 milligrams would be like drinking 17.5 Red Bull's. These Red Bull Energy Drinks would cost you roughly $35 whereas Primer would cost you roughly $5.00. Sounds like a good deal to me. Or maybe we can break it down this way. 3 Sprays of Primer is 99 milligrams of caffeine and would cost roughly $0.36. Now compare that to a 8.3 ounce Redbull at $2.00 for 80 milligrams of caffeine. Here's a chart to break it down even further:

Primer Comparison

So needless to say I see a pretty good value in the Primer Caffeinated breath spray. The kick? Well how much kick are you looking for? $1.92 worth of Primer, roughly the same cost as a normal energy, drink will get you 528 milligrams of caffeine. Yeah, enough said. Kick Rating - 10

Primer Caffeinated Breath Spray Review: Final Judgment
Not only is it functional as a breath spray, it is also a great way to get movin at a great low cost. There is really nothing, at least that I have reviewed, that delivers the same amount of kick (caffeine) for the same price. You know that each spray will roughly get you 33 milligrams of caffeine. So how much do you need before work, after lunch or on a date? My only suggestion is that you don't try and squirt the whole tube down your throat at once. I have had a drink that had 500 milligrams of caffeine in one sitting and let me say I was pretty freakin jittery. So give it a try. At the very least you got yourself some breath spray. Final Judgment - 9.6

e10 Energy Drink Review
Alright so I was a little skeptical at first to try the e10 Energy Drink as it clearly states on the bottle that there is no carbs, no sugar and no caffeine. On top of that there are only 5 calories per serving (1.5 servings), no fat, 20 small milligrams of sodium. Sounds like an extremely healthy drink and I cant imagine an Energy Drink either tasting or performing good with the lack of all of the above. However, I have been known to be wrong before (twice now I believe!). The only way to figure out the 12 ounce e10 Energy Drink is to put it to the taste and kick test. So enough fluff and onto the review.

Buy e10 Energy Drink Here

e10 Energy Drink Review: Taste
First off the e10 Energy Drink is lightly carbonated. Second it has a light grape flavor to it. Third it has a ton, and I mean a ton of vitamins and adaptogenic herbs in it. Fortunately for e10 you really can't taste them. I mean there is a slight hint of an aftertaste, but I mean slight which is extremely good for the enormous list of vitamins / herbs. Top that off with 5 calories, no carbs and no sugar and we have a good tasting healthy energy drink. Not too bad. Taste Rating - 8.8

e10 Energy Drink Review: Kick
Alright the lightly carbonated grape flavoring seems to work for e10. But will the lack of caffeine hinder it? Well the energy blend of e10 seems to consist of a ton of b-vitamins, Panax Ginseng and Taurine. I know what you are thinking, no caffeine, no guarana, this drink should not really be called an energy drink. Those were my initial feelings at first. However, I was surprised, e10 did give a decent kick maybe along the same lines as a Red Bull. Maybe it's all the energy from the adaptogenic herbs? Not too shabby, and definitely no crash. Kick Rating - 7.5

e10 Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Pretty good taste and a decent kick combined with tons of vitamins and adaptogenic herbs. Final Judgment - 8.2

Energy Drink Ratings Explained

bHIP Energy Drink Review
Well the bHIP Energy Drink is another entry into the powdered energy drink category along the same lines of ACT and Crave energy drinks. What does bHIP stand for? It stands for Body Health Improvement Product and promotes appetite control through and the use of metabolic enhancers to help you lose weight. Basically, this powdered bHIP Energy drink is targeting the health market as a dietary supplement that provides energy, i.e. those who are looking to lose weight, add performance, or just get energy without all the negative stuff that some energy drinks can provide. I am not going to evaluate whether or not bHIP helped control me lose weight or assisted in appetite control, but I will tell you how it tastes and performs in the kick category. If you want to know more about this product visit bHip Global Energy Drink

bHIP Energy Drink Review: Taste
The bHIP Energy Drink comes in a 9.3 gram ready to mix packet. It has 24 calories, 2grams of sugar and 6 grams of carbs. So yeah, it seems that this is healthier alternative to your everyday energy drink. You can use 1/2 a packet for moderate energy or the full packet for maximum energy. I opted for the full packet and mixed it into a 16 ounce bottle of water. I shook it for about 30 seconds and then took my first sip.....I am not quite sure how to describe the taste. It is somewhat of a berry flavor, however, the lack of sweeteners gave it a slight bitter taste. There was also a slight aftertaste to the drink as well. However, it did mix consistently in the bottle of water and I can't gripe about the taste too much as it was not all that bad. It was not as good as your traditional grape energy drink; however, there are tradeoffs. If you want all the sugar and calories go with a traditional over the counter energy drink, it will taste better. As for me I like the health concept and next time I give this a try I wil mix it in with some Crystal Light or some grape juice. Taste Rating - 7.0

bHIP Energy Drink Review: Kick
Alright the taste is not the best, but you can decide if the tradeoff is worth it. As I stated above, I mixed the whole package. There are plenty ingredients like amino acids, acai berry, etc but I am not going to comment on their benefits. The energy ingredients include b-vitamins, guarana (natural caffeine), green tea leaf extract and ginseng root extract. The kick from these ingredients was not immediate (no sugar to deliver fast) but I did get a nice boost about 30 minutes after finishing which lasted for about 4 hours. Also no sugar meant no crash! Kick Rating - 8.7

bHIP Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Overall the taste was not the greatest but the kick was good and allowed for sustained energy. When you combine that with the other energy ingredients in bHIP you get a pretty good health product. Final Judgment - 8.0

Shark Sugar Free Energy Drink Review

Final Judgment Rating:8.5
Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Shark Sugar Free Energy Drink Review
Well I have been hearing about this Shark Energy Drink for quite some time and I finally got my hands on some. Turns Shark Energy has been manufactured since 1965, which would make it one of the oldest Energy Drinks on the market. It is also available in over 70 countries and claims to be the #2 ED on the Market to Redbull. Now I have no stats to back up those claims but if you have distribution in that many countries than I can understand having that many sales. Well enough fluff and onto the review of the Sugar Free Shark Energy Drink.

Shark Sugar Free Energy Drink Review: Taste
First off this 8.4 ounce (250ml) Sugar Free Shark Energy Drink is lightly carbonated. It has only 10 calories and contains only one carb. The taste on this drink was not too hard to recognize. Now I know that Redbull has been around since the late 80's so this comparison is not all that fair. However, the sugar free Shark Energy Drink tastes somewhat similar to Redbull, but there are some differences. Shark has a lighter taste and is significantly sweeter. It also has a bubble gum type flavored aftertaste whereas Red Bull has the strong medicinal aftertaste. To sum up: Sugar Free Shark is lighter, sweeter and has a bubble gum aftertaste when compared to the Bull. Taste Rating 8.7

Shark Sugar Free Energy Drink Review: Kick
So it tastes better than Redbull, but it looks like the energy ingredients are pretty similar as their is taurine, b-vitamins and caffeine (from Guarana) present. So the only difference here seems to be that Shark uses natural caffeine whereas the Bull uses regular caffeine. They both use the same amount, 80 milligrams. So no, this is not going to be the strongest energy beverage on the market, but it does do the trick. Kick Rating - 8.0.

Shark Sugar Free Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
Again, I apologize for comparing Shark to Red Bull; especially since it looks like Shark has been around longer. However, it is a fair analysis as Shark does not have nearly as strong a presence in the US Market as Red Bull. But with 70 countries and growing and a better tasting product, Shark has nothing to lose. Final Judgment - 8.5

All City NRG Drinks

All City NRG Drink Review
So what's all the buzz about this new Energy Drink? Seems to me that a lot of the buzz is circulating around the design of the 3 16 ounce cans of the All City NRG Drink from Arizona Beverages. Although the flavor of all 3 of these drinks are identical, the cans are all quite unique with their distinct graffiti like tagging. What does "All City" mean? According to Arizona Beverages, which originated in Brooklyn, it is a term describing the "New York Street Artists who have made their mark in all five boroughs." I have yet to try a Single Arizona Energy Drink, but from what I hear they are worth it. So I am definitely looking forward to trying my first Arizona Energy Drink and I am glad that the All City NRG Drink will be my first.

All City NRG Drink Review: Taste
Usually Green Tea flavors are associated with Arizona Energy Drinks, but that is not quite the case with the All City NRG Drink. Although you can taste a hint of tea flavoring, the majority of the taste falls into the fruit punch style, more specifically a pomegranate flavor. This drink is also non-carbonated and when combined with the fruit punch / pomegranate juice flavor it really shines. All City NRG also contains 5% juice. But what really intrigues me is the fact that this is in essence a green tea based energy drink, but when it comes down to it the green tea flavoring is not prevalent at all. In my opinion this is a good thing as usually when you get a green tea based drink the tea flavoring is quite overwhelming and sometimes even bitter. That being said, for my first Arizona Energy Drink, I was more than pleased. I now plan to try more ED's from Arizona's line up. Taste Rating - 9.3

All City NRG Drink Review: Kick
All right the cans are very unique and the flavoring / taste is very good, but will the kick suffice? In my experience, when an energy drink tastes this good, the kick is usually lack luster. However, this is not the case for the All City NRG Drink. With energy ingredients (per 16 ounce serving) like 300 milligrams of caffeine, 2000 milligrams of taurine, 200 milligrams of Panax Ginseng, 200 milligrams of Guarana and a bunch of B-Vitamins this drink delivers again. Typically you don't see Mainstream Energy drinks with this much energy, especially this much caffeine. This not only trumps Monster, it literally destroys Red Bull. It may not be the strongest ED on the market, but it is probably one of the strongest you will see in Mass Distribution. Kick Rating - 9.2

All City NRG Drink Review: Final Judgment
Unique cans, great taste and a kick that beats out 90% of the mainstream competition. My suggestion to you is to give one of these a try. It sounds like these cans are going to be limited edition, so your best bet is to get your hands on one ASAP. However, my gut feeling is that these will go over quite well, so Arizona is going to have to keep these puppies on the shelf. There are 5 boroughs in New York and only 3 can designs. Maybe with any luck we will see two more original can designs released later. Final Judgment - 9.3
